@A2EReviews I might be coming off as a troll, but im not lol just saying that this race is old :P doesnt really matter who one or not anymore, although i do agree with you
Why is Travis Padgett and Richard Thompson's 9.89 in the graphics here. Shouldn't it be Ato Bolden''s 9.92? Which finally got broken by Makusha from Florida State?
@Brooksshawnprior of course he would hes the fastest man on earth, and trindon isnt even a full time track athlete hes a football player who runs track.
leesburg07: drawmeomg:-hayes' 10,05 WAS electronic NOT hand timed ! and in one of the heats B4 the final for the gold hayes ran a 9.91 electronic as well on a dirt track as well not the modern surface track these guys have today. wind was just over legal for that 9.91
these guys could NEVER click off a 10 flat like hayes did 46yrs ago on a DIRT track
@use2slam2 So... It was electronic... On a dirt track? Why would the track not be a normal paved one while having such advanced technology for its age? Doesn't make sense.
can anyone please tell me what trindon's doign now? Is he in the NFL, is he sticking to track, or injured? Because I've not heard him running any 100s this year. Thanks
amazing, bob hayes ran 10.05 47 yrs ago to win the gold medal in the 64 olympics 100m(ON DIRT TRACK)all these guys today with modern equipment and on modern
surface tracks running right at what hayes ran on cinder. fastest football player of all time bob hayes, i can imagine what he would have run the 100meters on todays surfaces.
@Iethereal everyone knows Trindon tightened up and that was the ONLY reason Jacoby rumbled by him. Trindon is quicker, faster and a better sprinter. Get real dude.
Go to my channel and check out the swag bucks link to WIN FREE STUFF!!! All you gotta do is use their search engine to win big. I won a free ps3! Not a scam!!!
The announcer is Ato Boldin, I can't stand that mo'fukka, I didn't like him when he ran either..wack ass accent.. i wish they would find somebody else to talk..for real!
folks wake up.whats this B.S. about players today being faster. bob hayes ran a 10.05 100m on dirt in the 64 olympics- DIRT !! i wanna see ANYBODY today run a 10.05 on a chewed up dirt track. demps, spiller, etc running around the same times
46 yrs later and on modern surfaces, that day in 64 just imagine what he would have clicked off if it was a modern rubberized track, faster today my ass !!!
@use2slam2 Your evidence is anecdotal. A few guys were ridiculously fast. A few guys were ridiculously large. Nowadays many guys are ridiculously fast, many guys are ridiculously large, and some guys are both ridiculously fast and ridiculously large. It's a matter of how often you see those guys, and today's players are, on average, faster and stronger.
@use2slam2 that time hayes ran was also hand timed. all the times you see posted are digitally recorded. you'd have to add a few .10's to hayes' time to get an accurate one. not saying bullet wasn't fast, but athletes today are typically faster (see 100m record times).
@mrcatohead, valiant effort at trying to correct someone, but you are the one that is incorrect. Any race that is determined with FAT by going to the thousandths decimal will always be rounded up to the next tenths place regardless of the rounding rules you learned in school.
9.991 = 10.00
9.998 = 10.00
Here is a real result from 2010's outdoor track and field championships in Eugene, Oregon:
@PowerSprinter Height means that you have longer legs. Longer legs mean that you have a longer stride. Longer stride means that you are likely to be faster.
@leeznon nope. sounds like a good theory though, but not true. look at the fastest collegiate runners in the past, Walter dix is 5"8', Travis padgette collegiate record is 5"8', holliday 5'5", and now the current champion jeff demps 5'8"
the thing is, yes longer legs = longer stride. but it also means a slower stride. combined with heavier weight. and less strength pound for pound. so slower acceleration hurts them and just being heavier.
@PowerSprinter Well I meant to say, if Holliday was as tall as Bolt and had the same leg speed that he currently has; he would be the worlds fastest man.
im a 9th grade freshmen in highschool i run a 12.4 and in my 100m run and im white and the fastest ive ever seen seen this year is a 10.9 it was amazing this black kid had everybody burned i mean there was a huge gap too lol
@homeworksuks well growing up in the ghetto and have a dream of a way out and training harder than everybody else wouldn't have anything to do with it
Blacks are FAST! and just think all the fastest ones got away, no way the white slave traders caught the ones who could really run. We just got the slowest ones.
Trindon Holliday ran a 4.22, and has been recorded running a 4.21... But a 40 yard dash doesn't mean anything especially at the combine when these players don't wear pads.
actually didnt holliday run a 4.34, maybe he ran a 4.22 a year ago. plus this was more than half a year ago, so this doesnt really mean anything as far as the combine and who is the fastest now goes.
i watched him play in texas vs the nation when he first came out i told my dad he was gonna get smashed but once he started to run no one could even keep up
and?...what has weight got to do with it?...he could be 145 or 185 and still carrying too much fat...the key to sprinting as fast as you can is being lean...5-10% bfat maximum.
Hey be on the lookout this indoor season for Reggie Dixon from Hampton he was a frosh and qualified for this race so watch for him this year in the 60m dash.
i played football against trindon in high school. believe me hes shorter than he looks on camera.lol he used to play for northeast high in cheneyville,la i used to play for zachary high in zachary. we were pretty much neighbors
thats the best you got??? lmao damn u suck at comebacks.....this same nigger lover is the same person who actually has a great future ahead of him because i dont have to use stereotypes to categorize my life punk bitch
You don't know that for sure. Ford's top end speed may not have been as good as Holliday's. That's like had he ran more relaxed and not pulled his muscle and won, then you could say you would hope Ford thanked Holliday for not having a great start like he typically does. Then Holliday should thank the whole heat for not running as well as they should. He won, give him his props.
Holliday usually wins the 100m.. but Ford always beats him in the 60m...Ford absolutely killed in the 60m race..to the average eye it looks close, but with a race that short, he pretty much beasted everyone
Okay you're a Clemson fan, then say that. See I am not a fan of any college. I just love track and I appreciate both runners but only one can win & Holliday finally won his 100m as Ford did his 60m championship. Much respect to both of them, they are both awesome!
If his FinishLynx time was 9.991 then that should have been the official time shown on the broadcast. And he is .009 off of 10.00 seconds. I am a FinishLynx operator and I don't see how they got that wrong on the official time.
In track you only have one shot to win....if you have a bad day, get hurt or already hurt, thats part of the race....its all about who finishes first, if it happened to holliday everyone would've said the same thing
What about last year when he beat Jacoby by .15s at the 2008 NCAA finals in the 100m? While Jacoby seems to be better at the 60m distance Holliday has usually been faster at the 100m distance. Ford hadn't even broken 10.2 until this year at the NCAA East Regionals a couple weeks ago, while Holliday has been putting up consistent 10.0 performances in the 100m since 2007.
In 2008 Jacoby broke his ankle at the end of October missed the entire indoor season rehabing and got 5th at finals. I would call that pretty good after a major setback. If he doesn't get hurt he'd be going under 10 whereas Trindon seems to have plateaued because of his height.
I can tell you're young. Andre Cason, 5'4" 9.92, Maurice Green 9.79 5'8", Ben Johnson 5'8" 9.79, I am 5'6" 10.8 when I was younger and never trained for track, I was a football player. No telling what I would have done had I been trained properly. I had mad friends growing up that ran 10.4-8's when growing up in NYC and LA. Ruben Bonitez 5'7" 10.3, Ran for El Salvador Ruben's best friend Barry 5'7 10.2, Oh Darrell Green (washington redskins great) 5'8" heard his was more like 5'7" 10.08.
i am 5"7' to 5"8' and am the fastest in my high school and its funny some people now a days think how that musbe a big disadvantage just because usain bolt is an exception
alright dude you're probably the dumbest mother fucker i've ever talked to i'm done arguing with you if you want your answer be somewhat smart and read something god damn fucking stupid
oh ok, i just read you comment about how i should go to lsu if i think im all that
i got it, you are obvioously not smart enough to tell that i was responding to a person referencing short sprinters and i commented that i am one on a high school level
then you got jealous because you dont actually put in work to be a top athlete at your school, so instead you go to the one place where you can feel like a champion
ok ok that was to someone else... i don't think a person that can't read could be a top athlete at anything.. sorry sir you have just failed, please kill yourself now.
WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOAAAA i just looked at this kid's profile to see who the fuck was making these lame comebacks? "oh, thats right, my medals are in the way" comon now you now you mean ribbons slow ass fuck
lmfao you don't know how dumb you sound.. people never lie on the internet right? ok sure then i can go on ahead and say quit lyin about your 10.5 handtime the only ha
The 1 dislike on this is the guy that got 2nd lol

if trindon would have had his usual start he probably could have hit 9.8
aaronernest504 2 years ago 2
I'm shocked that he actually won that with one of his "few" Not So Perfect Starts... but Damn Good Job!
Nateltrxc 2 years ago
In track you only have one shot to win....if you have a bad day, get hurt or already hurt, thats part of the race....its all about who finishes first, if it happened to holliday everyone would've said the same thing
AsiansUnite 2 years ago
He could have gone under 10. He slowed down at the last 10 metres.
sokha326 2 years ago
u would have a better argument if you used his bad start for a reason

can you put the 1500 and 800 men final...please?
BurnOutSlave 2 years ago
yall want to make anymore excuses for jacoby??
saintsplaya 2 years ago
holliday would have won regardless of jacoby pulling up. he walked jacoby down in the 4x100 something awful
saintsplaya 2 years ago
That's only because Jacoby tweaked his hammy and wasn't able to get full power.

Nature of the game man.

If he doesn't get hurt he'd be going under 10 whereas Trindon seems to have plateaued because of his height.
twcain234 2 years ago
yeah i agree. still though, 10.00 for a guy 5'6 tall is phenomenal!
speedyslime93 2 years ago 2
BreuckelensFinest 2 years ago
yeah boy
i am 5"7' to 5"8' and am the fastest in my high school and its funny some people now a days think how that musbe a big disadvantage just because usain bolt is an exception

quit giving your own comments a thumbs up obviously nobody gives a rats ass
cbowes3 2 years ago

so...yeah, thats embarassing for you
joecandito 2 years ago
lmfao that was a joke telling you how you're the only one that thinks your comments are worth anything? get an education dumb fuck
cbowes3 2 years ago
wow, that was a great joke
why are you being mean to me anyway, i didnt say anything to spark that.
all i siad was that im fast and below average height to explain that most sprinters arent as big as bolt and that you dont have to be tall to be fast
and all you do is come up with a stupid "joke" i guess and then get your panties in a bunch
oh well, i guess thats what the last place runners do when they arent being embarrased by runners like me
the internet is your revenge
joecandito 2 years ago

cbowes3 2 years ago
more insults
still no explaination
just give me a legit explaination and we will be done. as long as the explaination is legit
joecandito 2 years ago
oh ok, i just read you comment about how i should go to lsu if i think im all that
i got it, you are obvioously not smart enough to tell that i was responding to a person referencing short sprinters and i commented that i am one on a high school level
then you got jealous because you dont actually put in work to be a top athlete at your school, so instead you go to the one place where you can feel like a champion
the internet
well have fun with that
joecandito 2 years ago
ok ok that was to someone else... i don't think a person that can't read could be a top athlete at anything.. sorry sir you have just failed, please kill yourself now.
cbowes3 2 years ago
