  • This is what is happening in the prisons in some of Islamic countries to their own muslim people. If they are capble of doing so to their own , what do you think they are going to do to us if they would dominate the world ? Kiss us ??

  • @rzadan yeah, right...lets do to other what you think they will do to you if they'd rule the world...just to be sure you're protected. What they do in their country is irrelevant. If they actually did those things to you, it still wouldn't be morally acceptable to do those things! Lets grow up, the talion law is old now! lets ban it in the trash of History !

  • @schpoutns That is what they would do to you and me. You got it ? According to Islam , non muslims are not even humans , they are less than animals and must be slayed wherever found. Also their wives must be taken as slaves , raped and then sold. These are direct teacings of Quran. but m hey , dont take my word for it look it up yourself. And wake up.

  • @rzadan Ho, I know that! And the Bible says pretty much the same things about non christians or non-jews. I will fight religion with all my hearth, all my strength until my last breath! But never with violence! always discussion. Are you, yourself, a believer (whatever the belief is)? If so, open the bible and read it! you'll be amazed:). If not, please, try to use reason, compassion(;) ) and try to understand : they are uneducated barbaric tribes/country. We are western society with science.

  • @rzadan And this difference mean something!! We have to behave accordingly to OUR standard with EVERYBODY. I'm against violence, torture, murder, death penalty, etc. Educate people, don't eradicate them!

  • @schpoutns You said : Educate people, don't eradicate them! Very beatiful said. Why do you think I sepnt so much time here and writting if not for educating muslims ? I am an ex-muslim . I do not want to eradicate muslims. But I want to eradicate Islam ( at least I am doing my best ) . Believe me , Islam is evil and must be eradicated. A religion that says all non-muslims must be killed and their wives raped and sold as slaves , is evil and must be eradicated . Do u think so ?

  • @rzadan Typical reactionary response. Does this help? No. Be a better person. Islam, Christianity, Judaism, all religion encourages these extreme responses. Once we shed the skin of this antiquated mythos and all take part in humanity I believe by default we will all become a little more humanitarian. "That is what they would do to you and me." This statement is false. Not all muslims would do this to me, and not all christians would either. Good humans don't do this stuff.

  • @iihippoii You said : Good humans don't do this stuff. Very correct. But the only thing which makes the good humans do evil things is religion. ( this was said by one famous physicist ). I urge you to read only 3 lines from quran : 9;28 , 9:5. After that , I will show you more. According to quran , you are najis ( filthy as shit and urine ) , Slay non-muslims wherever u find tem. If you capture their wives , they are yours so , rape them and then sell them as slaves. Shall I say more ??????

  • @rzadan I agree with you whole heartedly!!!! ALL RELIGIONS are ridiculous. For you to condemn one is silly. It is hate. These fools that are deluding themselves with religion (including you if you adhere to any) are to be pitied and taught the truth. To condemn all muslims is wrong. I know many muslim people who are much more kind and far better than you.

  • @iihippoii Where did you get the impresion that I believe in any man made religion ? There has never been a prophet sent by god and they were all lying whitout any exception. The reason I condemn Islam mostly , is because I am an ex-muslim and that is the religion I know inside out. Now , those who know about other religions must come forward and expose them . I dont have enough information about other religions to comdemn them. All I know is that all religions are based on lies.

  • @rzadan glad to hear it. I am concerned with the ferocity you use. I want to see all religions fade into our past like the idea of a geocentric solar system, but I do not hate. We agree here on most everything. Sorry if I had the wrong impression. Down with religion, down with hate!

  • @rzadan Are you American? If so, your country has the highest prison population in the world. Look what those prisoners are doing to each other. If American prisoners of all religions are capable of doing that to their own what are they going to do to us. Your augments are flawed, your opinions infantile, and your beliefs incorrect. You should try to be a better person.

  • @iihippoii I thought by my poor English you would have underestood that I am not American. I was born muslim in a Islamic country and I have seen what they do to other muslims in prisons just because they think differently. Can u show me one person who is being tortured in America for apostasy ? According to quran you can kill and even torture non-Muslims ( that is what muhammad did during khaybar qazva to kinana ( see sahih muslim page 419 ) .But they should not do it to muslims. CNTD

  • @iihippoii So , when they do such a svagery act to muslims ( which is absolutly prohibited ), what do you think the would do to non-muslims ? Now show me someone who has been tortured in America ? Please do not talk about Ab quraiba. What happened there was pic nic compairing to one hour in an Islamic prison. I would rather 10 years in abu qurayba than one day in Iranian prison.

  • @rzadan I didn't say you are religious that is why is said "IF". Glad to hear you are not. Your speech is borderline hate which I do not condone. Torture has been approved to be used by Americans directly from the highest orders of government. Waterboarding technique has been authorized and defended by the the highest ranking Americans. Does it happen in America? Probably, but no one hears about it. Western countries also export prisoners to torture pro countries like Iran and Syria to get info.

  • Watching Christopher (or perhaps anyone) go through this...just watching...I noticed my own heart rate beating fast, my own breathing changed to one of distress, and I have to say my entire body reacted with a visceral clench that rather took me by surprise. How incredibly brave of him to do this! I miss him more and more every day.

  • So wait... Which pixel is Christopher Hitchens?

  • @smcdonald521 It sucks.

  • this was a man......God rest his soul.

  • In the old Western Movies, the good guy would take the bad guy and dunk him into the horse's water trough until the bad guy would confess where the damsel in distress was tied up. Because it was clear to the movie goer, who was doing the bad and who was trying to save the innocent, forcefully drowning a man to get a confession, seemed equitable. Today we are questioning Technique and not Motivation. If we can kill the enemy, we can drown him for information, if we regard ourselves Justified

  • @CarmineFragione Is torture really akin to spontaneous 'good guy' action scenes in a western: also, as Hitchens says, what if you've got the wrong guy :-( Yes: we are questioning the hooding, beating, binding, starving, drowning, degrading type techniques, not only for decencies sake, but to avoid stooping to the same methods as our enemies: far more useful and effective information was obtained by subtle allied interrogation (Kempton Park) than the gestapo ever got by violence.

  • god bless Christopher Hitchens.

  • 17 Seconds!!! O.o

  • And that, ladies and gentlemen, is a real journalist. RIP

  • @satanidomini Saddam was on the list of people that needed to go. Can you guess who is next?

  • 17 seconds to give up. Waterboarding is sooo much worse than I thought!

  • he was such a badass

  • Safe words are for pussies.

  • the atmosphere building music would have been more effective if the biomechanic sounding beat at 1:25 would continue on throughout the duration of the torture. the soothing female vocals ruined it.

  • A Merry Hitchmas & Reason's Greetings!

  • Hitchens should have done voice overs for movie bad guys. He sounds like a bad Lawrence Olivier.

  • @WolfpackFrank

    shut the fuck up

    how's that sound to you?

  • Comment removed

  • @gogolpex74 I think Christopher Hitchens would thank you for proving all that stood for so well upon his death. The callas, base and immoral effect religious fanaticism has on naturally good people.

  • It makes me sad to think our great nation would do this :(

  • @Cathyokc

Implying it was ever "great" and above such acts as this.

  • Amazing that he would put himself through this. It's disgusting that torture like this is allowed in a developed country like the US.

  • @anthonybilinski1 its not that develop if religion still holds a basis in all decisions made within your government

  • @anthonybilinski1 who said it was allowed

  • I LovE this man!

  • Holy shit!! That man has some balls for agreeing to do that.

  • dang is it that bad? now i want to experience it, what does that actually feel like, i dont understand how it works, i understand its supposed to make you feel like your drowning i think but its just water being poured on your face....and it seemed like a little bit at that

man thats incredible, lol +1 respect to Hitchens, thats what i would be like gotta try everything before you die, he can mark that off his bucket list now XD

  • @Intellectual4God I've been waterboarded, and I can tell you what he said was...almost exactly like it feels. Except without the annoying music. It's been a while since I could watch this. Almost two years.

Don't do it for a laugh, I'm serious now. If you think you'll be fine, you won't be. That gauze over your face? You can breathe through it, but you suck water into your mouth and choke slightly. I'm glad I had the option of getting out, I'll tell ya that much.

  • @Philosophydebater the corporate special interests in those regions have been talked about for years. Look up Bush camp's oil history, Cheney's oil history, their political ties, the military contracts to certain corporations which those politicians got kickbacks from, the billions of dollars missing, the bundles of cash, the military protecting the opium fields in Afghanistan.

Just Google "Corporate special interests in Iraq". Or Youtube Bush-Oil-war in Iraq. There's some great documentaries

  • @Philosophydebater I'm not debating whether it's torture or not. He's the one advocating middle eastern occupation, let him also defend what the CIA/military does. I know this is not their worst tactics of interrogation either. If you're going to defend corporate interests by calling it "liberation", you also shouldn't expect anything less than what our military will eventually do in those countries. Over a million civilians dead in 10 years for their "liberation", He volunteered for his Karma!

  • @pirateblarny Yeah, they can't wait to swim across the oceans with knives in their mouths. Get real.

  • @MsMaggieOC shut ur stupid piehole bitch!

  • @pirateblarny LOL! What is a liberal anyway?

  • @MsMaggieOC I don't know. I think it's when you accidentally get mustard in the mayonnaise jar from using the same knife. LOL

  • @pirateblarny easy one. has everyone that's been tortured been a muslim? also, has everyone that has been tortured been ready and willing to attack innocent people?

  • @ninjapig2011 ya, everything's easy to you liberal turds

  • @pirateblarny didn't realize you were just trolling

  • wow what a pussy. He couldn't even last 5 seconds?

  • oh but he was sure it wasn't torture. the guy should be hung for all of his propaganda he's spewed for the bankers. he's like chumpsky. acts like he's pro people, then on the big issues he does what simon says.

  • waterboarding is pure evil, but bless him, he's a big fat girls blouse.

  • whoa whoa WHOA. WHAT is that music? a min and a half in? It's awesome.

  • @dbhaumik419 Enigma - Gravity of Love

  • 10 Seconds?!

What a wuss. I could do 12... maybe even 15.

  • What would Jesus do?

  • Ask your countrys leader to do this. What will he or she say?

  • Hitchens is awesome!

  • RED! RED!!!

  • It's great to see there are still people who will put their money where their mouth is. I'd love to see Dick Cheney or Ann Coulter get water-boarded and then tell us it's not torture.

  • @Estas01 Go fuck yourself immediately

  • @HerlockSholmes123 Yeah, those are called cancerous tumors.

  • And the music is for what?

  • ADMIT GOD IS REAL !

    ADMIT GOD IS REAL!

    Oh sorry, wrong plot. LOL

  • Dick Cheney's version of total war - as if it were an answer to the return of kamikaze attack ie suicider insurgents. But torture guarantees subject will magnify all threat;, plausibly, he has to hope, to save his life; that enlargement, bogus, irrefutable, strengthens hand of Cheney at polls 04 06 08 - thinks Cheney - and suspect is released.

  • Hitchens should be applauded for willing to participate in this act of torture!!

  • @jjoneil73 He was doing it to justity the use of torture; he (and the guys who do it) now know the information gained has no credence; people will say anything in this situation; tell the interrogator what they want to hear

  • @no1hoopsman Unfortunately I must disagree with you here. KSM confessed to 2 plots from waterboarding that were in process. One in n-w US universities & one in the UK; both proved true and foiled.

  • @Redcarpet01 Any links to these claims? Either way we still condone torture which shouldn't be part of a civilized society and we then lose any credence to claim ourselves as such; we become the same as the terrorists

  • @no1hoopsman Look up the title 'CIA Confirms: Waterboarding 9/11 Mastermind Led to Info that Aborted 9/11-Style Attack on Los Angeles' in Yahoo/Google search engines.

  • @Redcarpet01 Are there any other links or evidence ? Given the source and the history it is very questionable indeed; I'd forgotten about that claim and to be honest it doesn't really stand up to scrutiny in my opinion. The wording is entirely aimed at the US people and certainly has the propaganda feel to it

  • @no1hoopsman "led to the discovery of a KSM plot, the 'Second Wave,' 'to use East Asian operatives to crash a hijacked airliner into' a building in Los Angeles." look up 'justice Department memo of May 30, 2005'

  • @Redcarpet01 All from the same source which is questionable obviously; no independent evidence to support them, and in fact the independent evidence purports to show the opposite. There are also claims on there about the ineffectiveness of waterboarding from the government source; this line of proof isn't very strong it appears to me

  • @TheRealSmacker you are missing the point. Its not about your physicallity, its about your brain-state. listen to what hitchens says, "thats all you can think about" and natural life saving impulses and panics fire. I probably wouldnt last as long, and near-drowning is the only real way i have ever almost died.

  • Ooh, such manly posters. Yea, you could last a waterboarding, you pansy-ass armchair warriors. You know, your cahuna Sean Hannity stated publicly, on air that he would undergo waterboarding to show what a man he is. Guess what? Never fucking happened. His fear of crumbling in 4 seconds flat got the better of him. Lesson: A faggot's fear is bigger than his ego. I bet if he had throat cancer, he'd seek martyr status. Our man Hitch is a true soldier.

  • You CANNOT hold your breath since the water simple flows down your nose.

  • that means he has tumours

  • With Hitchens around I ask: Who the f***k needs Chuck Norris?

  • @SahibJura Too bad for you: Christ' Hitchens' bases are covered as he has a wife and a husband.

  • @SahibJura Chuck Norris wears Christopher Hitchens pajamas to bed. =p

  • Where can I buy this song?

  • Still he lastet too short. Even if you´d just hold your breath completely, you should be able to last at least a minute, even if you´re not in good shape.

  • @TheRealSmacker he could be claustrophobic?

  • @TheRealSmacker Thats true but im guessing he didnt try to hold his breath at first an breathed in and inhailed water and that would of caused him to panic and be unable to hold his breath.

  • @TheRealSmacker What are you on about? It goes up your nose. You clearly know little about this, I've seen two other people who volunteered to do this, much younger and fitter, who bugged out about as quickly as he did.

  • @TheRealSmacker It's about the angle+the water. The water flows into your nose and there's nothing you can do about it.

  • Is this really necessary? All you need to do to get Hitchens to confess is threaten to take away his scotch.

  • @happymyster What would happen if you scotch boarded him?

  • When can we get Ray Comfort water boarded?

  • That was great.

  • i would never confide a secret to Hitchens, she cracks very easy.

  • @deserticus18 I doubt that anyone who is as physically unfit as Hitchens appears to be could cope with something like that for very long. Apart from that it makes no sense to associate a lack of toughness with women.

  • @DwiteTheSpriteKnight you are absolutely right.

  • @deserticus18 looks like I took your initial comment too seriously (-:

  • @DwiteTheSpriteKnight i don't like Hitchens, even i agree with with him in some issues, but you made your point very well

  • haha they use enigma music...why?

  • Respect, Christopher. The flagrant disregard for basic morals and international law by the USA and allied forces in this century is the most disgusting betrayal of the people of those nations and every nation, not only in the acts themselves, but because they can only inflame our enemies, justify their judgement of the West as evil and lead to further conflict. The sickening irony is that forgiveness and peace would be the response of both Jesus of Nazareth and the Prophet Mohammed.

  • If you want to know what the "Devil fighting your ass" feels like try getting lynched.

I suppose you'll call me a black critic now.

  • David Rockefeller's lickspittle Christ' Hitchens supports the Wilsonian model of "diplomacy" which includes, but is not limited to, expeditionary forces, permanent outposts (bases) and exporting/fomenting revolution by sabotaging local elections to depose popularly-elected leaders.

  • Comment removed

  • son off a bitch i wish you had died before doing something like that.

  • @linkingaj im guessing your a christian, because you wish he was dead correct?

  • Ive done a little experiment like this a wash cloth over my face and i had the shower facet running over it very very uncomfortable I can't even imagine what it would be like to be strapped down like that I would be shaken pretty badly

  • Didn't Hannity say he was going to be water boarded then chicken out? Or am I imagining that? Seems like he did chicken out to me.

  • ok so what was the point of this excercise?

is he settling some debate or something?

  • @munkdo3 The point is to show the world what water boarding really is. It's torture, plain and simple. It's not enhanced interrogation, or whatever other euphemisms they've come up with. That's the point.

  • @dstock881 ok, so he did a brave deed then, testing it on himself.

he took one for the team

  • @munkdo3 I think it was mainly because of what dstock said, but further, he wanted to talk about it in his article and thought he should have a first hand experience of it. I've actually heard celebrity "researchers" on a morning tv show here (UK) saying that they didn't know what the "fuss was all about" and that it sounded "like fun"

  • @kly45 could be, if you have the right board...

  • @kly45 well...with the right board...

  • @munkdo3 true...

  • he didnt last 10 fuckin seconds pussy

  • @atruckinthelife someone should drown you to prove what a man you are.

  • so simple, gotta try this at home...

  • @purewilderness Yeah, I want to try it too..

But not on myself! (Nah, I'd give it a shot)

  • Wait, what's with the loud music playing? Is that part of the torture technique?

  • @BigBagsForRent I do believe it is. All part of the sensory overload intended to make you break.

  • jews aren't god's people , logicians are,see it here = theoreticalphysics.webs.com

  • I've tried water boarding.

It sucks. It becomes unbearable very quick. I figured just closing my mouth and slowly exhaling out my nose would help, but the water still goes down your nostrils and fills your sinuses and the back of your throat. Every flinch and slight reflex of your chest (lungs) draws a bit more water in.

I held out for about 9 seconds. Hitch did 12 seconds, all things considered, that's pretty good.

  • couldn't the code word be stop? lol

  • Oh my god. I saw this video several times in the recommendations, but I always thought it was just a person aggressively asking him something at a speaking event. I didn't realize it meant literally. I can't believe he actually did this. I watched the whole video in horror that he could be so brave, and so goddamned stupid to agree to this. I have never respected a man so much.

Please get well soon, mister Hitchens.

  • @JacobPhilipRenae The term 'aggressive' is othen use as a euphemism by regimes who don't want to use the term torture.

"The barbarous custom of having men beaten who are suspected of having important secrets to reveal must be abolished. It has always been recognized that this way of interrogating men, by putting them to torture, produces nothing worthwhile."

    - Napoleon Bonaparte

Napoleon to Berthier 11 Nov 1798, Corres., V, no. 3606 p. 128 quoted in - Napoleon on the Art of War

  • I love Hitchens smack downs of ignorant creationtists and religious fanatics, but I got to disagree with him on this one.

  • as brer rabbit said..please dont throw me ino the briars

  • if these guys believed they were going to allah in an honourable death and indeed kill themselves even...why wud threatining them with death bother them...just a thought

  • What a wimp as always he is all talk.

  • Well that was a pathetic effort. Hitchen's lasted 15 seconds, real mental stamina there. What a joke.

  • @Galmozzi99 Why dont you give it a try you slimy sack of shit

  • Anyone who's tried to breathe through a soaking wet dust mask has had a brief glimpse of just how horrible this torture can be. Very very insidious that someone would do that to another being.

  • ROFL HE DIED PEPIC PAIL

  • Enigmas "Gravity of Love" HAHAHAHA are you serious?

  • Now thats a real man! He is not a tough guy. he is not a navy seal and he knows it. To have the nerve to do this is true guts and courage! If you never respected him and you still don't then you are lost and blind to any reality put before you.

  • @NOMADdaf But he says openly that he finds masochism immoral and sinister in many of his debates xD I'm pretty surprised by this.

  • @NOMADdaf Noooo, that's not a real man. I actually drowned in a pool when i was 15. It was terrifying. I know what it's like to drown, and I would never give the honor to someone of calling them a real man for attempting to receive the simulation of drowning. In reality, they're not real men, they're just being stupid.

  • @csoul7811 Then you don't understand conviction and sacrifice. Good thing all people don't make all of their life choices based on fears of bad childhood experiences. No disrespect to your terrible event. But its would be one thing for him to speak an opinion and another to say I will under go this thing so as to speak from experience.Any of us can say this and that but will you go through it? people speak on war that have never been there.

  • @NOMADdaf I never said anything about making life choices based upon childhood memories- I only said that I will not honor someone as a "real" man if they chose to partake in something that has already happened to numerous people such as myself who can tell the world what it is like to drown. My point is simple- don't judge him to be more a man than others just because he's willing to undergo this simulation- because those who aren't willing aren't any less of a man - they're just smart

  • Hitchens is leading the last revolution of man, the revolution against god.

  • Maybe they should have used scotch.

  • @gogoplex74 "ignorant atheists like hitchens and dawkins..." IGNORANT???

  • @neilawright Ok I'll give you question:

    -Atheism is bullshit!

    -Religion is bullshit!

which of these statements is more ignorant?
