palm 1 from 0:00 to 0:23 both sides of palm, from double palm 0:24 to 0:34 from here on only one side is done of each palm, 3rd 0:35 to 0:57, 4th 0:58 to 1:19, 5th 1:20 to 1:38, 6th 1:39 to 1:52, 7th 1:54 to 2:03, 8th 2:04 to 2:24 - close form 2: 24 to 2:30. That is Jiang Jung-Ch'iao School of Bagua Zhang.
fantastic performance...can anyone tell me why every Jiang Bagua practitioner on YouTube only does one side of each palm?...noone does both sides of each palm....very strange...
@buhonival maybe because it is just demonstration and it would just be repeating itself, i've seen the full version of this videoand he does do them on both sides when explaining them just not when demonstrating.
This sifu is Luo Jin-hua (罗金华golden essence)who learnt from Sha Guo-zheng (沙国政national politics)who learnt from Jiang Rong-qiao (姜容樵lumberer); very elegant and accurate (in manoeuvers and speed) ! 好野 !
Does anyone know where this man teaches? I am hoping to go to China next year to teach English, and want to find someone who teaches Jiang rong qiao's baguazhang, as I am already studying it in England.
This is an excellent demonstration. If you would like to know more you can visit my website, which is located on my page. While your there please feel free to suscribe me. I would be glad to help you with anything bagua related your having trouble with.
ah guys... if bagua is done properly the opponent is dead meat as soon as he comes near the practitioner. A single move from bagua will kill most people. Don't worry about him tiring himself out. If done properly his attacker will be dead before he realises it.
Excellent. Remember that form is for training. Certainly, it needs to tire you up to build up your strength gradually. In real fighting, you respond to whatever is needed, walking or not!
I can see that many of you do not know much about Bagua Zhang. Many of you need to realize that this is just the demonstration of the moves and not direct application of the techniques . The techniques are done very fast and are quite applicable in a real fight. Walking the circle is a very important aspect of this art. If someone got tired doing the circle walking then there is something wrong with their training.
Walking the circle is not only important to bagua zhang, but in all forms of combat, most talented warriors, walk their circle in different ways in combat, but the idea of the eight sides of defense is always applicable, this is an AWESOME art and it is quite applicable aswell. I study karate do mainly but I love almost all forms of combat, except i cant warm up to tae kwon do. I love working those total body throws in bagua!
Brilliant performance and expression of the art; beautiful to watch. I wish people would stop bickering bout the differences that exist between people and what they practice and rather celebrate what we all have in common, which is a desire to improve our lives through the practice of the arts. By focusing on what we share in common, rather than where we are different,we can hopefully engender more fruitful and constructive union in martial arts.
Well Liu Jingru would kick this guy ass. Ba kua is not tai chi. I do not see much intenion in terms of application in this guy movments. only some of the dissolving power that you find in tai Chi, but good tai chi people do it better.
bagua or circle walking is very interesting but i prefer the northern shalon kung fu still i respect tai chi and bagua. both r very interesting in my view
my shi-fu feels the same way, he believes bagua is much too impractical in a direct fighting scenario as many people today would tire themselves out by constantly moving around their opponent.
Taiji is a balance between elements of bagua and xingyi, and basically is good for exercise and preserving health.
Each bagua move is a techinque in itself. It would only take two or three movements in this form to use in fighting. You don't do the form when fighting! Your shi-fu needs to realize that no one in Tai Ji does the form when they fight,so why should a ba gua person use a form to fight? It makes no sense.
Meaning no disrespect to you sir, but your comments shows a lack of understanding of Baquazhang applications in combat...would 2-3 seconds constitute tiring oneself out? No. Baqua can seem very slow and impractical, but in actual application...just like the the other Neijia arts, Xingyi & Taiji, when actually applied, combat is over literally in seconds.
Watch from 33 sec to 55 sec. Notice its the same zhang that I do. Jiang is great. I made mistake in my last responce. This is the short form only doing one side of each zhang. The actual form is twice as long and practiced slower, this is show speed.
This is the Dragon Heart form. I do the same form , notice every time he transision back to dragon palm, the form switches sides then it moves to the next zhang . Watch is 3rd zhang right then left then watch my video called 3rd zhang right/left. Notice the similarity? Same form, different focus.
Circle walking originally was meant for religion/health...but bagua was meant for fighting man. And if inside gate means close range, then yes I believe so.

Bagua is the drawing of natures energy into oneself...and wtf is inside-gate fighting??? Bagua was meant more for health than a fighting game.
