  • Wow, it's the second time ever I listened to this song (the first one was with Ray Conniff Singers...), it's got a cool and sophisticated flavor!! Thanks for posting.

  • Mark, I goofed on Franki singig "The Old Master Painter from the farawy hills"....as you so kindly informed me - but I was so sure, but that was many, many moons ago when I was youg...thata my excuse..(*.*)....thanks.

  • This happens all the time, a lot of people still think that Frankie had the hit version of "Ghost Riders In The Sky" Which by the way was vaughn Monroe in 1949. 12 years later Frankie put in on an album and this is what people remember. I've also been called names because I tried to tell someone who thought he knew; that Frankie DID NOT SING, "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance"

He tried to say that he remembered it from the movie. It was not in the Movie and was Gene Pitny who did it..

  • Not really parting ways, just that I'm a romantic with "That's My Desire", and a son like this one that made me love him...plus I saw him in person on stage and just loved his style, his stance, his voice and the rest...but some that arent romantic....just wasnt my cup of tea....But Thanks for your comment...andf for sharing Frankie with us all.

  • There is nothing wrong with being a romantic.

I think everyone could use a little more romance in there lives. I didn't mean I didn't like soft stuff that Frankie did. I think the Album this song came from "Torchin' " was one of his best. Also the recording of "The Greater Sin" is one of my Favored.

It seems everyone seems to take pieces of Frankie as there very own. Some love his Jazz numbers, others his westerns or Spirituals. I fell for his Big Voice Dramatic songs. To Each His Own

  • @markalson1938 I like most everything Frankie did, He just ha d a great voice!

  • You're correct. I didn't like The Wild Goose song..ho ho ho .....

  • Now there is were our taste part. It was "Wild Goose" not the Jazzy stuff that made a eleven year old a Laine fan for life. The flip side "Black Lace" helped also.

  • What do they mean...."This is bad"? It's great...anything Frankie sings is tops...glad you posted it.. Apprecite it! and love it!

  • As one of Frankie's BIGGEST Fans let me let you in on a little secret. Frankie did some songs that was really bad. I don't think this was one of them. And the other songs were so bad even Frankie couldn't do anything with them. One of them was in his Mercury days. "BePop Spoken Here" or for Columbia there was "You Know How It Is" or "St James Infirmary". I know someone will pop up to say they love these songs, it happens all the time.

    But that's just my opinion.

  • I' m one of frankie's biggest fans - but this is really bad. How sad.

  • Well you can't win them all. I had a request for this song so someone likes it. That's the reason I posted it.

  • what band and arranger is this??

  • Frank Comstock was both the arranger and conducted the Orchestra on this number and all the songs from the album this recording came from "Torchin' "

  • remove the other images.. it takes away from the song.... 5 stars none the less
