My favorite example of the sense of humor of conservative idealogue was a guy I saw somewhere online who professed amazement that anyone who voted Democratic could enjoy "Team America World Police". I loved that movie! Not only did the guy see the humor not as humor, but as ideology, but he couldn't see that the satire cut both ways. He probably thought that the depiction of Susan Sarendon and Alec Baldwin as comic book supervillains was supposed to be factually accurate.
This looks like Fox's "Half-Hour News Hour" recycled with the same canned laughter and no budget. About as funny too. What's really funny are the Conservatives' attempts to replicate the wit and humor of the Daily Show and Colbert Report. Hint: The key to satire is that you're using humor to reveal elements of truth. I think that's where these sad attempts are failing.
The Daily Show doesn't have a political agenda, other than to lampoon the powerful. When Clinton was president, they went after Clinton. If Obama wins, they'll go after Obama. That's called satire. This is about the agenda, and that makes it propaganda.

My favorite example of the sense of humor of conservative idealogue was a guy I saw somewhere online who professed amazement that anyone who voted Democratic could enjoy "Team America World Police". I loved that movie! Not only did the guy see the humor not as humor, but as ideology, but he couldn't see that the satire cut both ways. He probably thought that the depiction of Susan Sarendon and Alec Baldwin as comic book supervillains was supposed to be factually accurate.

This looks like Fox's "Half-Hour News Hour" recycled with the same canned laughter and no budget. About as funny too. What's really funny are the Conservatives' attempts to replicate the wit and humor of the Daily Show and Colbert Report. Hint: The key to satire is that you're using humor to reveal elements of truth. I think that's where these sad attempts are failing.

The Daily Show doesn't have a political agenda, other than to lampoon the powerful. When Clinton was president, they went after Clinton. If Obama wins, they'll go after Obama. That's called satire. This is about the agenda, and that makes it propaganda.

Liberal talk radio will always be at a disadvantage because liberals don't need to spend three hours a day every day for a period of years, hearing their own opinions being reinforced. Eventually, they want to hear some new ideas. Besides, I'm tired of hearing about how terrible Bush is. Any conversation that I have with anyone, from my 72 year old father to my 29 year old son, can suddenly turn into an anti-bush diatribe. Do I need to listen to it on the radio for entertainment?

liberal talk radio will always be at a disadvantage because they can not compete in an open market. when they have to sell thier ideas to the public, they fail. the same way that most truely liberal ideas fail when they are put to votes. most liberl agendas have been advanced in the courts and not through legislature, for the same reason the lib radio fails because you can not win the people to your side, so you have to be on government subsidised stations and the protection of the courts

Oh, I thought if the incursion went for so many days, war had to be declared. I thought that was what the war powers act was about. To declare war, the congress has to "find cause".

What's worse than inaction? Half-assed action. The terrorists were in Afghanistan, but there was no oil in Afghanistan, so we pulled our resources out of Afghanistan and into Iraq, where the were no terrorists, based on deliberately distorted intelligence. Cheney created a special office in the White House that filtered the information to sell the war.

I agree that Afghanistan should have been priority #1 from the start. I have mixed feelings about Iraq. I agree we were misinformed as a people, but I also think we would have been in Iraq within the next 20 years anyway, but in response to a major attack. Also, if we are going to try and fight a P.C. war in Iraq than we may as well pull out. If we won't be as brutal (or more so) than our enemy, we aren't going to finish what we have started. If Patton were alive the war would be over now.

No oil in afghanistan. How simple minded of you. Never mind the pipelines that run through Afghanistan feeding Pakistan and India natural gas. Never mind the oil/gas consortium that wanted to build these pipelines through the region but couldn't because of a regime that had such a "bad" human rights record. According to the testimony in front of the U.S. congress, insuring a pipeline in such a volatile place would be difficult if the Taliban remained in power. How old are you guys anyhow? 5?

The goal is actually to create a civil war. Blow up the Shia's, blame it on the Sunnis. How about you guys fight. Once a civil war is created, there will be no choice but to divy the country into 3 less powerful nations with tiny military's. This is what the Israeli's wrote about in the '90's. Of course the problem is, creating a civil war is a war crime. Best to make it look like an accident. Make it look like ineptitude. Bush is the perfect actor for that.

Is that what they did to Jessica Lynch? Cut her head off? The pentagon said the Iraqi's raped her. She said that was a lie. Didn't the Pentagon tell us insurgents killed Pat Tillman? If you still believe anything that the Pentagon or it's surrogate, Intelcenter says, I feel sorry for you. Do you even know what Intelcenter is?

He went to Yale and got a Bachelor of Arts degree in history but he Graduated from Harvard University with a Masters of Business Administration. I was also referring to a comment about Iran when I was talking about inaction.

Seriously, if you think this is bad, you should have checked it out a few weeks ago. It was such a train wreck, I subscribed!
But I've been disappointed at how much better it's gotten. Now, I think it has potential. And I think our young Jody is reasonably cute.
