Ah, this is a crummy re-record... hence the cheesy pseudo sax solo in the middle
A lot of artists of the golden oldies era re-recorded their hits in the 70's and 80's due to problems with who owned the rights to the original recordings
She wore blue velvet Bluer than velvet was the night Softer than satin was the light From the stars She wore blue velvet Bluer than velvet were her eyes Warmer than May her tender sighs Love was ours Ours a love I held tightly Feeling the rapture grow Like a flame burning brightly But when she left, gone was the glow of Blue velvet But in my heart there'll always be Precious and warm, a memory Through the years And I still can see blue velvet Through my tears
Que maravilha, queria ter vivido este tempo e ser amada verdadeiramente. My memory. Quando morrer quero estar ouvindo esta música ao longe e aí estarei em paz, enfim.
I love this cover! I use to listen to this stuff on some of the radio channels, however, thanks to pbs for advertising different decades I remember these old classics.
i was a lil girl too!! my mom`s favorite song. she died at 32 yrs. now my broken hearted father has past on they now dance the big 1 in heaven which is exactly what he was waitin 4!!! he lived on till 77. never did he stop talkin & his heart was sooo broke we couldnt help fix it!! NO1 could!! but this gives me such awesome memories..thru my tears..peace & luv
I remember this song when I was a little girl. I recall exactly where I was and what I was doing. I was with my folks at a place we would often go. And its funny how a song can be as if you are there again. It was a Saturday afternoon in the Spring. We had a good day.
@brad04970 God I would have loved to have something like this as my prom song. A song to remember all your life as a sweet memory. And not the terrible 2000's crap we got at mine...
these are golden oldie standards...beautiful..don't you think..see you at the old car show and drive-in..hopefully...see you at the rollers kate hamburger joint....they tell me they used to set up parquet floors with tents or not with roller skating outside...campgrounds? and a projector?

I was on a Rock, Roll and Remember Cruise when Annie and the Orphans played this song for my husband Tim and I while on our Honeymoon on Lake Winnipesaukee in Laconia NH. This song was so special to us because one of our 1st nights in our home we were listening to the local radio station and an elderly gentleman called in to request this in loving Memory of his wife who had passed the year before. Unfortunately the Station did not have it in the archives and played Lady in Red in it's place...
A classic that never grows old...... reminds me of my youth, and the love that I have found again in my life. Lost him when we were 16 only to find him again at 54.... we are in love and going to get married...... it's a beautiful love story, with a beautiful love song to go with it..... Prada Rose
