@JeauDacious Their 2011 was definitely a lot messier than EP's 2011 routine, but between their 2010 routine and this 2010 routine, they were basically on the same footing with pretty much the same turn sequences too. But again UDA isn't really about producing real motivating pieces of art and is more about how many dancing robots can you get synchronized on stage.
@lovePaula07 I agree. I watch this video then coral reef, and then back again and I can't seem to figure out what made this routine No. 1. I mean it was cute, cute song, cute costumes, but it doesn't give me goosebumps and isn't imprinted in my mind after I've seen once or even three times. I mean what criteria do these judges go off of when two teams are both practically flawless and neck and neck? It must have been uniform color because it certainly wasn't creativity.
Another difference between the EPDT and the EPPS is the DT choreographs all their own routines, while the PS hires choreographers for their dances. GO EP.
This team is called the Eden Prairie Pom Squad. All the girls on the team attend the Eden Prairie High School. Other than that, you've got all the information correct.
Once i saw Coral reef places second then for sure eden prairie won. I don't know what's going on in minnesota but dance is just on a whole different level.
not really the dancing that is so much better than other states..they are good dancers but they have GREAT choreography and staging that puts them over the rest.
But if you look at the Minnesota high school dance teams that compete in w/e the state system is that the Minnesota schools compete in... All the various schools (Wayzata, Maple Grove, Eastview, etc) show CONSISTENT high level dance technique. The high school dancing on a large scale is really advanced compared to other state competitions ive seen. Eden Prairie as i seems is the only school that has two dance teams. One competes locally, the other goes nationally.
This team that goes to nationals is more like a "club" team, that I'm pretty sure has girls from other schools on it. Under the MSHSL rules, when you are apart of your school's dance team you cannot compete in any other competitions until you team's season is over. The girls that go to nationals are not the same girls that dance in the state competition.
Yeah, I recognized that. Stating in my previous comment that Eden Prairie seems to have more than one dance team, one competes locally and the other goes nationally. But still... for a "club" team, theyre still seems to be a much larger selection of girls with high level technique in Minnesota. Seeing as there are enough good girls around to choose from who can't compete in both.
And this is why I wish i lived in minnesota...
