Yeah that victory was as easy as all of them. I thought it was one of his best races, he loves the turf, and Big Brown was game and Kent let him win on his own, Kent never hit him the the whip once. He only tapped his shoulder and chirpped at him.
This was a clear field of 8 yr old 'has-beens' Shakis wins once a year (that was on ESPN) and the others won grade II - back in the day. By the time this race was made up -and it was made up- Others had their fall schedules set already. These horses were all that was left over. Brown could have gone to the Woodward, Hirsch, JCC - anything. Why did it have to be this? This was and is a joke. And, again, he barely won.
Curlin actually raced a 9 year old and earlier this year in Better Talk Now at the Belmont on the turf for the Man O' War Stakes... where he didn't win but placed second to a five year old, Red Rocks. Curlin actually only placed second to the 9 year old by a length or a length in a half, so make no mistake about Big Brown, he is a great horse, and I think Curlin's owners would tell you they want nothing to do with him on Synthetic turf at the Breeder's Cup at Santa Anita. On dirt, maybe.
coccorccio the 9 year you speak of is a eclipse award turf champion who has won several G1 races and has beaten many other G1 champions, BCT winners and Arc winners. so its the years its what you have done with them. there was tons of G1 talent in the man o war and only one got lucky. bb will be facing way better horses in the BCC.
yeah, unfortunately not Curlin, because again, while he may be the best on dirt, they want nothing to do with Big Brown on Synthetics or Turf. Curlin won't race the BCC at Santa Anita because of the Synthetic surface. Also, I know exactly who Better Talk Now is but thanks for explaining, just like I know the 8 year old you mock is Shakis, who hasn't exactly had a slouch of a career for a European 8yr Old. Granted, Better Talk Now's record is better, but Shakis isn't exactly Farmer Ned's Nag.
Make no mistake,Big Brown is a VERY GOOD horse,he was there to be "shot at" leading all the way and always holding off the challengers,it will be a great race against Curlin, but i still feel that Big Brown will prevail,i also seen possibly the best horse in the world on turf today..Zarkava the French filly, still unbeaten and the Arc de Triomphe surely awaits.
Big Brown won --- without being whipped by his jockey not even once, unlike the other horses being whipped. He was relaxed towards the middle, and was not digging hard on the turf, unlike the other horses struggling. He won without even really trying that hard. In the Breeders' Cup, he'll do just fine.
Kent Desormeaux is left handed and definitely asked (whipped)Big Brown at the beginning of the backstretch. It's just not easy to see because the other jockeys were whipping with their right hands.
I was thrilled when he won, Big Brown just keeps getting better and better. He blazed through the first part and then to have enough heart to battle back at the end, just amazing.

Also, it was funny how Kent didn't whip him at all! He only tapped his shoulder with the whip! Thats what happens when Brown goes Green!

honestly, I think that he´s gonna need to do more than that to do good in the breeders cup classic

I don't think we will see him at all in the breeders cup classic. Dutrow doesn't want to start him on poly. Most likely he will run the BC turf.
