I saw Jane perform live at the Byham Theater in Pittsburgh, back in the very early 90's. What a fantastic songstress, absolutely one of a kind, with no peer. Sure wish there were more CDs coming from her.
She is THE most under rated, classy, and dignified singer EVER...That voice just rocks me to sleep when I listen late at night...such meaning with each song..truly A real song-stylist! Love her!
The most perfect diction of any singer I can recall. One of the world's great musical treasures, and she is sadly almost unknown outside her circle of admirers.
@tk2151 You said you went to this show. Do you remember when and where it was? I saw her last in the late 90's, but I'm curious what's happened since. She's such a rare talent, it's sad it's so hidden from view.
@vineaste it was maybe 3 or 4 years ago at the Berklee Performance Center @ Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. The performance was actually recorded for DVD, you can prob buy it off amazon. It was hard to find when it came out. It's called "Safe Return."
@tk2151 Thanks for the info. It's encouraging to know that she's still singing and in good voice, and hopefully we'll still get a chance to see her perform.
@pick4guy Oh I beleive it because I was truly fortunate to see Ms Olivor live in 1982. I feel so grateful for the opportunity too. Truly a strking voice. Jane could sing the phone book and it would sound as good. Such perfect enunciation and perfect control. Damn she could teach some of these wannabes today a lesson or three.
An incredible, original, artist. How can't one love Jane Oliver ! Johnny met his match in this duet. Its one of my most favorite songs. Exquisite!

If there is a better singer, I have not heard her, and I am older than dirt. She is one of the five best I have ever had the privilege of hearing.
