@goldbullet50 the reason they do not is pretty simple. the rounds are most likely ak 47 rounds wgich are a 7.62 mm round as opposed to the 5.56 nato round. Second soldiers tune in on the different sounds of weapons. Their enemy shoots ak 47's if they started using them then they would lose the ability to distinguish correctly who was friend or foe in a large engagement. to add to that many of these weapons and rounds are at least 20 years old and could potentialy cause severe harm to the user

If you can't use them (Our Finnish troops actually can because RK95 haves same caliber as AK-47) that doesn't mean you have to waste them. Enemies possibility to retrieve them is maybe the biggest threat, but it could be easily avoided by just collecting them and doing at least something to them, not just blow them up.

@goldbullet50 They are not being wasted they are bering disposed of. The weapons are weapons used by the enemy you do not use them. They are dangerous as they are potentially unstable. Standard practice across all NATO and allied countries is to, when finding a cache of enemy weapons, destroy it. They did the same thing in iraq when they dropped bombs on suddams military stockpiles. They did the same thing in the balkans and again the same thing in northern ireland.destroying is best thing cando

@TheComradejv You apparently don't get my point... My point is that everything is waste. Killing a sniper with artillery is waste. Destroying T-72 with Javelin is waste (though war wouldn't make any single sense if tanks shouldn't be destroyed :D). Basically even shooting is waste. I don't really support any goddamn "don't shoot don't shoot" thing and I shoot myself too but it's stupid to waste good ammunition or guns or in some case explosives.

There would be absolutely no point as a brand new weapon will be cheaper than one you made from recycled guns as transport would cost far to much.
