Let me in on the secret folks, What is so interesting about a freight train going by? Peeps watched his 2800 times and it is about as interesting as watching paint dry. What am I missing here? Some kind of inside joke?

jjanossy-railway interest is a personal thing. I love the the power and size of the locomotives ,the variations in the wagons being hauled.

It is the symbol of one of the last "proper mans" jobs.

I like the architecture of the stations and the interesting destinations. eg Last week I went biking with family to Culrain in NE Scotland via train. Had meals on train sank six pints.

The station was beautiful-middle of hills,villiage,squeaking gates and half mile away a huge gothic castle.

I see. The touring sounds interesting. I have been living under a rock for a few years, just catching up. Six pints sounds heavy duty. Guinness? That's my preferred brew. Visit Chicago sometime and I will buy you a pint to hear about your travels.

I have mentioned before but the family loved the sound of North American loco horns-esp at night-so errie almost unworldly.

We had a holiday this summer aug 09 in Canada-and stayed in hotels near railway-all family kept windows open to hear locos at night-never get rid of the horns in the US

If I am in Chicago will have a pint-no prob
