uhhh, the M-box 2 is one of the best digital interfaces for the money..... and it's USB. I don't know why everyone is all hell-bent on discriminating against USB Interfaces, they're fine.

recording music, using a XLR and a preamplifier do i get more quality tnan just using a usb conection?

For pro stuff use XLR microphones with audio interface attached to your computer
