@TheBoogymannn You can putmany different things in there. I've had it with shrimp, for example, and it was pretty good. I've heard people recommend sausage or kimchi, also, never heard of putting chicken or beef in them, though. I would assume you could though. Just remember that even the octopus is pre-cooked when put in to the takoyaki.

Holy crap I love takoyaki, and guess what, I can make them!. Buy something called a 'gem scone iron', it is some pan or something, look it up, it is exactly like a takoyaki pan, and use it over your stove. Works a charm. In fact, I am going to make some now!

or, try using the Korean brand;'CJ Soup-Stock (Bonito Flavour)' - this is what I use to add the distinct smokey flavour, at least when I make seafood-pajeon. You'll probably find it in any Korean supermarket even some Japanese.
