@sctt44 Doesn't matter it doesn't have to be about anything. It's the fuckin Velvets the greatest psycedellic band of all time. By The way i don't know lol. Fuckin rock on man.
This is such a fucking great song!!! A friend of mine raved about Velvet Underground ten years after this album and I blew him off for the Pistols and the Clash. There was room for all three in my small living room mind. I just didn't know it at the time!
Reminiscent of Dylan's "Tombstone Blues." I'm certainly not implying copyright infringement at all, but I love how Lou wears his influences on his sleeves. A true evolutionary album if I ever did see one.
@mussman717word Quit mentioning Dylan on every song, everywhere. He was a good song writer, and a decent singer. But you can't go around claiming any similar sounding song is surely influenced by so and so.
Shit I could sit on youtube all day, commenting on videos of Led Zep/Sabbath/Stones/ect, and say "Wow, look at how they copy Link Wrays distortion, I love how they love their influences on their sleeve." But they aren't, because very little people have heard about Link Wray at the time.
Mumbling over a microphone was the style of the 60's and 70's. So be it if Dylan introduced it, but everyone else is just singing, not giving tribute to their influence at every turn. I mean even though I call it mumbling its still a "style", you can look at Niel Young and see what happens when you dont do it right, you end up with horrible and overpowering lyrics.
I wasn't referring to the "mumbling." I was referring to the style of blues this song presents, and some of Lou's phrasing here. And, fuck you for dissing Neil, you faggot.

This is the only Velvet song I commented on about Dylan, as far as my memory goes. Major props to you, sir, for mentioning Link Wray, though.

The original mix ( e.g. , pre-remastered version ) of this song is the best , as its guitar tracks are more gritty and boisterous .
