It's how ignorant people explained the scary natural phenomena around them and consoled themselves about upsetting things such as death. But just because something is ancient and kind of interesting doesn't mean it's true. It doesn't even mean it's good, as anyone can see from all the suffering and death *caused* by religion.

It's just that it felt like a joke, maybe a popular joke in Britain that most of the other people were like, 'Hey, it's that Vectron joke!' But I see now that it is just these guys, and all of the commenters are just playing along. I think it's hilarious, but it at the time felt like an inside joke of sorts. I thought it was funny from the beginning, and I still do, but sometimes it came off as a British joke, due to the comments.
