oh shit that bike fucked up but mines was worst it was in three really in three.. but aye god bless atleast you made it out of it .. but ah major lost bruh smh frame sliders wouldnt of help that none
Im NOT getting a 1000 for my first street bike that is pretty much asking for death,if anybody got a 1000 for their first street bike they better get life insurance and write their will too. I know you can die on any bike but a 600 is just enough for me im gonna get a old 600 bike from the 90's maby fzr,im not cocky or nothing its not gonna be till im like 20 though im not gonna be able to afford insurance right now that or ill get something like a mazdaspeed 6,evo,or wrx to be safer.....
i am thinkin about getting a gixxer 600. never had a bike. only motocross and now the yfz450 quads 5th gear wheelies down the road. but if i get a bike i wont do all that crazy ass shit. some times a wheelie but dont wanna flip it. i been riding quads and motocross my whole life
I recently bought a gsxr 600 And i am a squid i respect the bike. I have had some guys say that the bike was too small for someone my size at 6'3" . But i think there is no real need for anything bigger.
There are lots of guys that ride with us that are as tall and taller that all roll on 600s and they hang right with the 1k bikes in the twisties and curves.
Sometimes on the straights the 1ks will pull away but even then its just until the next set of curves.
Ride smart and safe and stay within your limits and you will live long enough to really enjoy it..
For real, I don't ride a streetbike yet, not sure that i'll ever take the plunge but if I did I realistically dont see the need for anything more then a 600. Just judging based on the acceleration numbers they run, they ahve ridiculous power as is. The 1000's are for really experienced riders who have track time etc. Th problem is all these kids that get 1000's because they want the fastest bike there is and wanna get laid
We ride in a group of 7 or so usually, give or take depending on the weekend and we have a fairly decent range of bikes. When we are hitting nice hills with tight bends and short straights the 600s, and 750s are well within the limits of 1000's, but soon as the longer straights come into play the 1000's pull away.
We have a few guys that ride 250's and although they don't accelerate as fast, they still hold a very good time threw tight sections.

Must be a bit boring as a 600 doesn't accelerate any faster than a fast car from the speeds you likely ride at and will be slower through corners. Surely life's too short not to get the fastest bike you can and learn to ride it?
a gsxr 600 is faster than almost ANY car you can buy stock from the factory... of course the expensive sports cars etc will win but you're paying a pretty penny for that... a 600 can actually go faster through curves because of centrifugal force... less force takes less to make it turn... only on the straightaways are 1000's faster...
I meant slower than a car through the corners. Yeah on paper a gsxr 600 will do 0-60 in 3.1 and blow away almost any car stock but that's with an amazing rider on board. But for less than 8k (price of new gsxr 600) you can buy a modded impreza or evo with 400-500 hp that is as fast on paper and faster in the real world. Only a 1000cc bike can compete with that and is so much faster than a 600 with a decent rider on the long straights.
ive raced and beat subarus, evos etc with my 600 loads of times, through sweeping bends they dont stand a chance, only on very tight hairpins can they match the speed of a well ridden sportbike, and thats fact!
Most evos and imprezas are owned and driven by posers with limited driving ability who won't push their cars hard. I've only ever managed to get one decent race out of an evo driver. I haven't ever managed to get a decent race out of anyone on a 600 bike or impreza. If by sweeping you mean corners you can take at 150mph+ then maybe but otherwise no. An impreza spec c laps the ring in 7.59 with 300 bhp faster than any 600 to illustrate my point beyond my own personal experience.
@Actionshots4u I'm 6'1" and 350 pounds. I just got a fz6r 600. It has plenty of power to drag my ass up. I'm a new rider and I don't wanna die. Thumbs up for all beginners that ride safely.
@wrenchxturninxmonkey youll find that 600s can be quite fun, like "little" rockets. Ive had my R6 for just about 3 years now and I run track with it too. I dont think Im even going to consider getting a bigger bike anytime anyway. Its not the bike, its the rider. Im faster than almost all of the 1k bikes in my groups at the track anyway haha.
My R1 is exactly the same size (if not a bit smaller) than my friend's CBR600. The bike doesn't ALWAYS get larger just because the CC's go up. Just gets a bit big over 1300, the busa and zx-14 in particular. If they're insinuating it's b/c you're too heavy, trust me, I'm heavier, and that CBR600 was plenty fast enough to end me, hell, my old GSX750 was fast enough to end me...more about respecting the bike, > 500cc can kill anybody...
too bad skill wasn't included in the bike purchase.

@310stanger Too much power not enough respect for it and limited skill, your right mate no need for more than 600cc unless your touring a lot ;-)
