  • "You can play more notes that way".......what!?

  • 00:30 - "back in the day, they didn't have sophisticated equipment"

man, i remember those days, back in the early 80's, i had two belt driven turntables with NO pitch, and a realistic Radio Shack mixer with no fader!

  • cool!!

  • Una Pregunta Que Marca Son Las Compacteras Y El Mixer???

    Gracias

  • That is just so cool!

I will be a DJ too someday...

  • can you tell whats the name of the song at 00:55 ?? please i love that song and i never found it

  • ET phone home?

  • Everybody please flag all Expert Village videos for spam.

Copy and paste and thumbs up if you agree.

  • i was better at scratching than you before i even owned a turntable. -.-

  • As annoying as those Foot Locker commercials are, they are actually pretty funny.

  • hee haw brayks

  • someone should flag expertvillage as idiots lol...these ppl where do they find them? This is like asking vanilla ice how to substain a music career

  • @vig1602

    haha yeah defo

  • @vig1602 totally agree 110%

  • @vig1602 Why are everyone trollin' Expertvillage so much? Sure they have some really shitty vids, but what did this guy do wrong? :D I mean they have put out almost 150 000 vids, everyone of them isn't total shit.

  • BIG NOSE LOL

  • what is this for a mixer

  • This guy obviously doesn't know shit about what was available back then, There were mixers with cross-faders in the late 70's. Brands like Gemini, Pyramid and even Radio Shack had mixers, not to mention AKAI even had a dual cassette player with pitch control and cross-faders. So this part he definitely got wrong. Of course there were not any technics 1200s but there were direct drive turntable with pitch control such as fisher and technics quartz.

  • what was the point of this video?? was it to teach something???

  • djing is easy all you have to do is go wiki wiki and move a bucnh of knobs...suck a dick! id like to see you shit talkers on the tables.trainreck after trainwreck...and no it takes lots of dedication to become a good dj..

  • @jomade08 i thought u were serious

  • HES GOT SOME LONG NECK LOLOL

  • @saronrock hjajajaja xDD

  • @saronrock It's almost like he can't rotate it, like it's stiff!! Lol

  • great video men

  • its called a turn table

  • hard to be dj? its easier than playing guitar isnt it?

  • @Socccerplaya24

    depends who you are.

  • yeah it is, but djing is much more fun!

  • @Socccerplaya24 nope. i use to play piano and thats wayyy easier than becoming a good dj.

  • i agree i think playing an actual instument is harder than this i mean all ur doing really is movig a bunch of knobs

  • try to mix 2 traks

of course play the piano is much harder, but don't think djing is so easy

  • for sure a real instument is harder I have been working on my tamborine fer moonths and damn its hard but the turntables thats easy i mean cmon all you have to do is go wicky wicky. so easy.

  • @havenomouth

Tamborine?????? play a man instrument.....djing way harder then that. a trumpet, all you do is press the valve and blow. that sound pretty simple to me too

  • @Devestato72

I was joking. Tamborine lol how could you take that serious.

  • @havenomouth you joker you

  • @Socccerplaya24 I guess you haven't seen Rafik, A-Trak, Craze etc. in action.

  • do ou actually but your hand on the record or on that ring around it

  • on the record

  • i really want to buy some equiptment. can anyone give some good brands of turn tables and everything i would need. thanks.

  • just go to guitar center's dj equip. section and you'll see their bundle deals where you can buy everything you need to get started for relatively cheap

  • technics 1200s, don't settle for anything less

  • if u get turntables just make sure its direct drive,

  • technics are the best if your made of money numarks r ok for starting out just makesure the crossfader is fairly smooth sounding and the tables are direct drive as apposed to belt drive, belt drive is very bad, its the poor mans way of scratching

  • sure. here take it.

  • hye ppl, pls help me i got a question, i want to become a dj, so ima get a mixer and 2 turntables, but do i have to buy vinyls or i just have to load the music from my computer to the turntable?, i just dont get it how it works..

  • u can easily load music on too your turntables, my advise is to either download or buy traktor, but with the traktor package it follows a mixer and stuff, but if you want u can just connect your turntables to traktor on your computer. if that made any sence?

  • so i dont have to buy vinyls?

  • nope, you just gotta have like, one vinyl on each turntable, like to controll the music on each like it was a original vinyl record, if you know what i mean? just go to your local dealer and ask there, they could probably explain it better than i, and help you out with what to buy and such

  • k lol i get it now xD IMA GO TO BEST BUY FOR MORe HELP,, thanks

  • yes buy vinyl,that's a lot cheaper & better

  • There Is GOOGLE

  • even i don noe bout djing.. but.. hey man.. guess wat.. u sucks hard

  • the best

  • DAMN man u suck..!! for real

  • dude, do your homework first. this is so embarassing.

  • tajate er cazzo!

  • Oh shit, I thought Super-Greg was a made-up character. Yet here he is! Boom!

  • Expert Village sucks!!! there's only a handfull of actual "experts" . It's just another bad marketing scheme the media caught a hold of because they noticed youtube was a place where many people would look up tutorials.......and now, like everything else, commercial.

  • I love how he says "throw in a baby scratch" and he starts chirping...LOL

  • I was just about to comment about this. lol

  • actually...the "baby scratch" was discovered in 1973 by Grand Master Theodore!

Tip: Before going out on the internet publicly, try to KNOW what you're talking about ;)

    pCe

  • grand WIZARD theodore:)

  • wow you suck

  • i dont like you

  • to be a dj, you have to have a collection to last for like hours at least 4 would be good. and you have to bring either your own records or download them from your laptop and use the music on a dj turntable

  • veryy gd question i wanna know too!

  • 69 Ratings

    XD

  • they did have cross faders, they just didnt have a scratch curve.

  • no, crossfaders came up later, he's talkin about the late 70ies here ... they did not have xfaders

  • remindes me ofDJ kill

  • The subtitles are way off until the dead end of the video. If you're going to try, do it right. It's less annoying to have no subtitles than to have subtitles that are fifteen seconds off.

  • cool can i borrow ur time machine

  • dj trials from funkoars is doper :)

  • their videos are TOO short.

  • That is Beautifull!!!!!!....Cant Wait to get my Dj equipment..

  • got most of mine sat. feels great! good luck

  • expertvillage id crap... they should all die :)

  • lol why ?

  • thats wut i hate about expertvillage is that there videos are short

  • how much does this equipment cost?

  • Technics cost up to $400 to $600 bro. I highly recomend Technics. I love mine.

  • dude, the Decks, use technics, but i'd recomend Rane for the mixers,TTM-56 could produce clean smooth cuts and fast response, and it'd be harder to wear out,but i'll cost abit hefty, since it's sorta water proof and the crossfaders magnectic,so its easier to do tricks

  • You serious that cheap. I gotta get the Technics 1200s

  • Baby whoat? :D

    Ok

  • funny, every single one of these expertvillage clips has a bunch of crybabies in the comments
