Such a talented person could never be forgotten.....Some people-in my opinion-are legends...Kurt Cobain,Cliff Burton,Bob Marley,Bon Scott,Jimi Hentrix.........They brought changes in music history and they can't be forgotten...Richard Wright did something good for our music ....In his own way....
you said such beautiful words in the description of this video! I would give you like 1 million thumbs up for that if youtube allowed me lol! this is a wonderful tribute great job xoxoxo
Not only could rick play keyboards but he could sing and play guitar also.He was the only one of the group to go to music school and he tuned rodgers bass before every gig or show. He was a mega talented man. Last but not least he was a gentleman, and the world of music is missing him already
Rick wrote so many favourite Pink Floyd songs..What a fantastic musician. I still can't entirely believe he's gone...it's sad. I can't believe it. But his music has been such a part of world and connected to some pretty strong memories.
great lyrics, did not find them done properly, so i tried to find out myself.. the last but one line mystery : i think he might say good-bye to all charlotte gringles ( those due to answer and those due to come. if this works as an ordinary name in English at all ), ( fearing then in the last line that his intention may get lost in a matter of days). But then, I do not believe in Charlotte, even though i love this nam. Who can make sense of the remaining few words if it were "Share a lot o' " ?
Occasionally you showed a smile but what was the need I felt the cold far too soon in a world of 9 to 5 My friends are lying in the sun, I wish that I was there Tomorrow brings another town and another girl like you Have you time before you leave to greet another man Just you let me know How do you feel ? how do you feel ? how do you feel ? how do you feel ? Good-bye to you Charlotte Gringles due I've had enough for one day
Would you like to say something before you leave Perhaps you'd care to state exactly how you feel We say good-bye before we've said hello I hardly even like you, I shouldn't care at all We met just six hours ago, the music was too loud From your bed I gained a day and lost a bloody year And I would like to know How do you feel ? how do you feel ? How do you feel? how do you feel ? Not a single word was said, the night's still without fears
"My friends are lying in the sun, I wish that I was there". Love the change in the piano from 1st to 2nd verse and how it incorporates the AHM brass theme. Multiparts/ feel/ tempos to this very interesting song. Far more interesting than Great Gig In The Sky, for which RW seems to most famous for. Also mysterious lyrics, "Goodbye to you, Charlotte Bangles due? There seems to be numerous interpretations of that line on the net. Guess we'll never know! Same as "Marigolds are very much in love"?
I'm still in denial.... A true pure musician was taken from this earth to a better place. Rick you do not need me to tell you how important you were to Pink Floyds sound. I thank you for inspiring us all with your great work. I truly wish you were here.......
As with most bands.. certain members are most publicly known. In Pink Floyd it was (is) David Gilmour and Roger Waters (and to an extent Syd Barrett). But Richard Wright was as much as any other member a force behind the bands success. R.I.P Richard Wright.
@svagrod Thank you- I stand corrected. I noticed that last week when I listened to the Wall. That aside, I find that the Waters-Gilmour style is the one that attracted me to them in 1969. I will also have to admit that their musical diversity keeps me coming back. Who else could get away with Seamus as lead vocalist?
@olddavid4 .Glad you didn't take it offensively! wasn't meant to be ,people can get wierd on the internet.Even when your just refreshing someones memory. LOL.. can't really pick a "favorite" but I still get chills whenever echoes starts...I can't imagine growing up without the music of Pink Floyd,I agree there diversity throughout the years is amazing. How time flies...Take care...
How I Wish You Were Here...Rick. Nunca lo olvidaremos ♥
Thank you; yes they are mine. Rick always struck me as somewhat vulnerable and fragile and not meant for the tremendous tugs of war that went on, both personally and professionally. One needs to be eternally grateful to David Gilmour who had his back, and Syd's and Nick's for that matter.
You are so right. Their concerts were unforgettable although for me it was always the music rather than the spectacle. Take care :-)))

Pink Floyd definitively DIED with the death of Richard... PINK FLOYD is DEATH for EVER.
The Old Pink Floyd had died before Syd Barrett died, coz' when SYD left Pink Floyd at 1968, a New Pink Floyd borned... and now, it's just one year ago of the ending of these 'new' floyds...
i saw them in '73' at Memorial Auditorium in Buffalo..."Dark Side Of The Moon" tour..one of the highlights of my teenage years....also the Who, original lineup

Goodbye Richard... goodbye PINK FLOYD...
And goodbye you too SYD...
