Hi, I was wondering if it is at all possible to reduce the magnification of the Ranger as anything nearer normal vision would be more suitable for my needs. Any help appreciated thanks
@diggerproud1 There is a guy on our forum that has separated the lens holder so you can use different lenses. He has used a 1X lens made for another Yukon scope I believe. His member name is DABOXASH. I suggest to goto the forum and find his post on it.
mine is broken, i have a loose connection or somthing on the video output because when my lcd screen gets scratchy and goes white the video output stops putting out, how do you take it apart to get to the inside of the video output port?
hello jim, owing to your video is to be repaired it for me succeeded my yukon Ranger per. none could say to me like one this turns out without it to destroy to open can over to the electronics come. thank you to you and good improvement.
I guess you'd need a pair of those measuring devices the name escapes me, uses Millimeter steel ruler with thumb wheel and 2 thin nose measuring calipers or rods with pointed ends, my thread is 40.5mm for an Sanyo Xacti HD2000 so be aware of 0.5 measurements, once you've sust the thread size you can search Ebay for attachment lenses, try to get the repair engineers schematic drawings, thread size should be on there, maybe they will tell you if you ask em nicely. :)
Hello Jim. Great how to on this. Before any of us try this, Can you please tell us what this accomplishes? Does it get rid of the lousy 5* field of view and allow for a wider shot or what? Also what lenses have you tested and where are you buying them from? Thanks.
@tpetersen97 Does nothing unless a person wants to switch out the lens. Once a person unscrews the lens it is to late and this mod has to be done. I haven't tried to find a another lens to fit it yet. Better mod for me is the rca adjust mod. That is available on the forum link for those people that like living dangerous.
wow Jim you i cant believe what you have achieved with a ranger that Yukon told me cant be done. I dont have my ranger now and have a recon 550 which i got cheap but im waiting for a 550R as an exchange for my ranger.I will update you on the forum later my friend. Hats off to you for your bravery!!
well done Jim! You know you are the only one who has attempted and achieved all this with the Yukon. Now i know what to do and watch when i do manage to get one of these! Great work!!

@ruderob11 Looking forward to seeing one of those Recon 550R's. I still don't know of anyone that has the Recon with the recording ability.

Get some use out of the Ranger first Tirade70, then at least if you break it you can later say that scope was cool :o
Naw but be careful, very careful if you ever have a need to do this mod or the other rca mod.
