Hey Bub!

You just don't get it do you? This was a dinner party! A PARTY! You know, A PARTY!!!! This was not a concert hall.

Can't you see the round dinner tables on each end in the video? There were bunches more behind me and my camera that were all filled with folks at midnight drinking and visiting at the end of the festival and saying their goodbyes until they meet again. Definitely not a church quiet environment, and not supposed to be either!

Everybody was having fun and the music wasn't not the only attraction, and the musicians knew it and many of them were behind the camera chatting amongst themselves. It was a PARTY!

Here we have Adam playing, relaxed, as an old hand. Hodges and Swanson have done their research listening to the old rolls and records of these tunes. Their Pianoflage just sparkles and flows along. But no one has commented on the last tune that gets played, "It Takes A Long, Tall, Brown-Skin Gal To Make A Preacher Lay His Bible Down." I am disappointed the whole rendition did not get recorded; it is fine and smacks of the old QRS roll. It is a tune that sticks to the mind.

How old is Adam Swanson? He looks really young. It is great he is playing with big names in jazz piano.

I think 15 is about right unless he recently had a birthday.

He is one amazing piano player even if he was 40!

He is a great kid too! Smart, and fun to visit with.

This tune is called Pianoflage and is another Roy Bargy piece (like Omeomy and Sunshine Capers).. Bargy was one of the novelty geniuses of the 1920s.
