Classic Jongen. You can tell his style in a couple of measures. This is a terrific piece. Is the tune a folksong? It's the same tune Debussy uses in his Gigues.
To be honest I cannot remember whether this is based on a folksong or well-known melody of the time, though it seems likely if Debussy also used it in his Gigues.
I cease to be amazed with this composer and his styles. Other than some signature phrasing of his work in this piece I wouldn't guess it was Jongen. The sound and feeling is light, positive and cheerful.
