  • I am done with L.A. Born and raised there, lived there a lot. I did though, meet Dr. Leary in Santa Monica once, about 30 years ago.

  • and by that i mean lots of acid.. like 60's amounts..

  • i hate how alien they make it sound. people should start doing lsd again. its what the world needs again more than ever

  • Comment removed

  • i injected a solution of magic mushrooms once that i prepared myself.

10 fucking seconds till i was peaking my brothers!!!!

ah ha ha ha ha ha!!!! people tell me i'm crazy :-)

  • @666speedball idiot.

  • @cannonultra789 what the fuck kind of name is cannonultra789 you fucking loser? you're an ultra fuckhead that's for sure! take some mushrooms and wake up you stupid little piece of shit!!!

  • Our high school l Valedictorian had it given to him at a party . He didn't know what is was and gave it to him without his knowledge. He suffered permanent damage. Our local news did a story on him back in 1985.

  • did any one else see that girll drink her doses at 9:11 bahahah great great time lol

  • Doing Drugs is bad for the poor children who are born geneticly defective!

they did nothing wrong but will pay for the rest of there life.

  • @ManuelBetten yeah well leary is a great exaple of the divide between the classes he was a right on middle class who conformed all his life. jumped on a rebeleous new scene & with used his psycholgy educate to advantage mainly cause of the young women he could shag. a lot of middle aged men who study all life & dont enjoy there youth have this. id like to see him visit a housing project in glasgow & then preach how great drugs are.this is a great example of how out of touch the middle class are

  • My Mother became heavily involved in the sixties movement and I did too. Other than to run away from home, I really had no say in the matter. My life was affected dramatically by it and I now realize I'm lucky I even survived. No one really knew enough about LSD to know what it did, not even Timothy Leary. The movement had good intentions for social change but wasn't well thought out. People who support it only want to show anything positive they can link to it

    AN EXPERIMENT WITH VARYING RESULTS

  • @79hyperwave why dont u stop trying to force ur veiws on others and keep ur mouthshut who the fuck r u to say that someone should or should eat something mind altering or not its their body and mind not yours

  • @strive2don't do drugs. drugs are for losers.

  • @79hyperwave grow up.

  • @beatonm198 exactly. grow up kids, and don't do drugs.

  • @79hyperwave You're pathetic. You probably drink alcohol too. If you do, then you're just a bible-thumping hypocrite. If not, you're just boring.

  • @beatonm198 nope, don't drink. and I don't go to church either. don't do drugs kids, they don't make you interesting.

  • @79hyperwave I actually feel bad for you, because there are a ton of positive attributes to the smart use of drugs and alcohol, and you are missing a truly special part of the chemistry of the world. The closest thing you can have to a religious experience without being religious is the divine use of psychedelics.

  • @beatonm198 doing drugs are bad kids. don't let these people fool you into believing doing drugs are good for you by telling you a bunch of crap a drug dealer would in order to push his dope on you, or the same thing a dirty old hippie would before taking advantage of you. drugs are bad. people who tell you otherwise are lying.

  • @79hyperwave you don't even try to respond logically. you're just a troll. a sad, pathetic, warped, toolbag asshat. and a troll.

  • @79hyperwave Yes kids, do as 79Hyperwave suggests and YOU too could be 32 years old and STILL believing and spouting the progaganda you learnt back in your high school "drug education" class when you were 12 or so... hey - it'll save you from ever having to bother to actually THINK FOR YOURSELF!

  • @sukumvit This is how drug dealers talk kids. Don't listen. Dropping LSD and smoking DMT and doing drugs isn't going to deprogram you from anything or allow you to "think for yourself." Drugs do the thinking for you. Don't listen to these druggies, and don't do drugs.

  • @79hyperwave So, what is your actual personal experience with all this? You seem SO knowledgeable...

  • @sukumvit Don't do drugs kids. That's all the knowledge you need.

  • @79hyperwave I did LSD two times and I don't regret it at all. In fact, I advise everyone who is mentally sane to try it, because it's a very interesting spiritual experience. If you haven't tried it yourself, don't speak about things you don't know. Not all drugs are the same.

  • @AirSandFire true! ;D

  • @Lookagainz muh nigguh

  • @AirSandFire i ate half a shhet once but eventually you'll get jacob's laadder 1990 if so just inhale a can of dust off and listenn to grravediggaz six feet deep anon

  • @AirSandFire what about if you had in past some psychosis but do not have it anymore with no drugs?

  • @79hyperwave That's what fearful people say.

  • @sukumvit i licked more lister than dister dude, don't do drugs kids and leary was involved deep with temple of set as are your ilk spitting fearful about fear that it makes me fear that where you come from is gone where you thought you were going to weren't never there and where you are ain't no good unless you can get away from it beeeeeeeeatccccccchissssss

  • @sukumvit my life with the thrill kill kult buzzsaw wedding bells boulder colorado rf media cia sluck

  • @sukumvit dropp 500 mic and celtic frost into the pandemonium if you can make it there you can make it anyware

  • @sukumvit try 40

  • @79hyperwave i guess some who read be here now hedocid and droped 5 mic to public enemy back in the dat 88 hath no wisdom huh it takes a naion ov mill bring the noickruess abd all datass wu haah got you all in check

  • Guess the military never EXPERIMENTED with drugs. . How do you think a new drug is tested. So why should we criticize Timothy ?

  • @poeticreasoning38 exactly

  • I prefer Ram Dass, where he has experimented with drugs in his psychology work, but taught that you can reach higher consciousness levels through other means such as meditation.

  • Also, I love his assistant!!!!

  • What a special piece of history! How could this lovely, caring, humorous old man be the most dangerous man in the world? People's priorities are so backwards.

If you're curious about LSD and other drugs, check out my blog, Furthur. You can find the link in my channel. :)

  • TRIPPING

  • its apointed to man once to die an then the Judgment.... by His stripes we are healed........... not Timmy Boys....

  • I knew Tim. He was not the man portrayed here.

  • Whats the song that starts at 8:11 ?????

  • @blazeofglory00 the song is Because by The Beatles off the album Abbey Road

  • Is the cheapo Purple Haze parody at the beginning making anyone else cringe?

  • get real- there is a lot more to Leary than anyone lets on. there are a lot of secrets about him he was in with that harvard psych crew (think unibomber)

  • Summary of Tim Leary: 60's and 70's bucked the system. 90's twat.

  • The whole tone of this piece was very judgemental and not at all intellectually curious. Leary the man (like everyone else) is much less interesting than questions about the nature of consciousness.

  • 10 years in prison for smoking marijuana! No wonder I have always been misathropic and fucking hate this preposterous and repulsive system we in which we have to live. I complete abhor self-righteous people who wants to interfere with other people's liberty by telling them what can and cannot do.

  • but at the same time American culture is doing the SAME exact thing just on the complete opposite end of the spectrum and now in the year 2011, we have an ultimate collision of the two points of view that think they are 'helping' humans become better humans..technology. It really is the ultimate tool of destruction to the human brain and is causing many people to become mindless puppets. Some crazy stuff, I sure am glad that I have the love and guidance of our Creator to lead me.

  • amis sind spießer

  • The next 1,000 viewers of this video can text "WALMART" to (702) 744-7594 will be in a special Wal-Mart giveaway!

  • I was fortunate enough to meet and pay homage to Dr. Leary back in the late 80's. The status quo always tried to smear him.

  • Haha Harry Perry at the beginning.

  • what happened to the kids?

  • Timothy Leary found a way to overcome earthbound consciousness. It was and is a shortcut. But it can be scary for those who`s antiquated systems are jeapordized. It`s also not for those who are drawn to the dark polarity, it`s not in the interests of humanity. I encountered Dr. Leary on the street on sixth street in San Francisco. He saw that I saw him comming towards me. He was a great personality.

  • I thought that all this was really cool. I got super interested in LSD, so I decided to try it. And now I suffer from various psychological diseases. Do not take these kinds of drugs. They will mess you up and you will regret it 100%

  • @sroll2700 lol

  • @sroll2700 So you say psychedelic's will mess up 100% of people. You have never investigated this topic or you would know what you say is 100% WRONG. Are the American Indians wrong in keeping their peyote church?Should we destroy it?Leary's gaol psychedelic experiments showed the recidivist rate of non treated prisoners remained @the usual level of about 83% over the next5years after release from prison, whereas Leary's test group dropped to only 3-6%.Then we go2GOOD FRIDAY tests&CASE CLOSED!!

  • I would trust none of those people.

  • a somewhat slanted comentry.. don't you think Mr BBC.. not quite as fucked up as the sandbagging on american TV though..

  • @Plurabelle I love the psychedelic experience, and though I believe it can be an aid, it's like Timothy Leary himself once said, "1 in 1000 people, maybe 10,000, have the maturity and self confidence to use these drugs in truly beneficial ways. I'm not advocating anything." As powerful, and as enlightening as these experiences can be, for many it is too much.Hindus actually discourage people from doing certain meditations (eg kundalini) because it is too much for the unexperienced to learn from.

  • Ummm..

Again.. not mentioned that these doctors were given LSD and told to experiment with it, as were the CIA it was when the results were sooo amazing.. in the set n setting of Leary that the problem began..

It was when the transformation was towards freedom that it was a problem.

  • Tony Jones!!??

  • i tripped on LSD on a good five different occassions but have never done more than 2 hits each time which were all good trips but im thinkin about steppin it up a notch and takin 3 hits at kings island this summer on a really nice day n ive tripped in public places before n it doesnt bother me so im sure i can handle it but im also gonna have my gf w/me so hopefully she can calm me down if for whatever reason i was to start getting parinoid n flippin out n then my next trip will b @ the zoo!

  • Ok, I understand his points and objective and what not. But I don't get is why LSD is so crucial to learning all this knowledge.... I believe in thinking for yourself and that reality is what you make it out to be. It might help for some but for others, psycadelics can cause more harm than good. I was always a calm, and care free person untill I listened to this kind of stuff from people and tried it all out.

Now I feel like im going to have anxiety and fear for the rest of my life.

  • @Bananastickers2 Feel the anxiety, go deeply into the fear and you'll realize that it's just your mind bothering you. And if this doesn't work - read some Eckhart Tolle, J. Krishnamurti or Alan Watts and you'll start understanding (and thus be free from) all of your fear and anxiety. Do you really want to be free?

  • @freedomfromthemind Of course I do, I try 24/7 to battle it. I really like Alan Watts, I've listened to his stuff quite a bit. It's just that I'm so unsure of myself, for a few months I feel like I have over come it then I'll have strange physical feelings like in my head or body that I don't recognize and panic. Then it gets worse cause I think something bad is happening.

  • @Bananastickers2 i feel ya drugs have fucked my whole life up

  • @Bananastickers2 Fear is at the root of all of it. Fear of death (I should clarify) is at the root of all of it. Deep down there is a very intact sense of "I" which doesn't want to die, and this is why this fear takes over your mind and your body. It's real, I realize that .... I've felt it, and I literally felt as if I was going to die. But after realizing that the mind and it's death was an illusion/story, my fear of death left and all I was left with was what is ... what is now. Namaste.

  • @freedomfromthemind Yeah I'm sure you're right about this, and it has been slowly getting better for me. Now my anxiety attacks only seem to happen once or twice a month and they're very brief but still feel the same. It all stems from a blackout I had when smoking pot and I thought it was a stroke or something, even though I came to pretty quickly and felt fine at the time.

After that, smoking pot or being stressed out made me feel very edgy and nervous about it happening again.

  • @Bananastickers2 My awakening came while smoking pot. To make a long story short, my insane mind (which would sum up the way it operates when in the unconscious or "normal" state of mind) convinced me (because of being raised to believe that Marijuana would kill me, kill brain cells and could lead to my death) that I would die after I had inhaled several puffs. I took an ambulance ride to the hospital, with my heart racing at 180BPM then down to normal, up to 180BPM and down to normal ...

  • @Bananastickers2 And as crazy as this whole experience was .... and indeed it was very INSANE, it showed me the insanity of my mind in its NORMAL mode of operation - all weed did was really bring it to the surface, a sort of honesty or light to the mind. I'm most thankful for this moment in my life than any other, because from this point I realized that I do not have to be a slave to my mind. I am now in control of my mind, not the opposite. Excellent servant, terrible master!!!!

  • @Bananastickers2 i feel the same exact way sometimes from a psychadelic experience gone wrong. totally relatable brother

  • Im beyond Timothy Leary..............

  • Im beyond Timothy leary..............

  • Stop handing out heavy drugs to our youth Timothy Leary!!!! thats the CIA's job for fucks sake!

  • @mrGojetess i aint fucked up any more..i enjoy life to the max..i love playin. soccer and cycling All im trying to get acrooss is the people predispositioned to schizophrenia could quite possibly trigger a latent mental illness...if anyones fucked up its you and your statement...look into it deeper before saying the first thing that comes too mind and maybe you will get somewhere in life

  • man those balloons are cool

  • acid is dead

  • My 1st trip was when I was 13 and dropped 2 hits of purple microdot.... Clean shit still in the early 70's. Those were the good old days.

  • fuck that i took mushrooms , acid and cannabis one day about 12 years ago...im still fuckin tripping.. i was hospitalised and given various diagnoses (paranoid schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder etc.) i was ill for a few years, hearing and seeing stuff that didnt exist..now after 12 years i have learned to master my mind and control the hallucinations , hell i even have fun with auditory hallucinations when im bored cos i know now that its only an hallucination. master your senses;-)

  • @thejaytee29 apparently your still a fucked up dude, give up

  • @thejaytee29 right.

  • Leary had the right idea and the best intentions, he just didn't heed moderation. Moderation and proper settings are key. He was all but burnt completely out mentally in the end.

  • IS HE STILL ALIVE? Please answer!

  • @efhve

no, he died in 1996, this video is old

  • 02:30 thats not charlie sheen is it?

  • @ck85 lolz

  • drugs put him in that wheelchair XD

  • @MijitoPorQue old age put him in the wheal chair dumb ass

  • He snookered all of you people!

He just talked a lot of horseshit in order to bang all of those pretty girls on acid!

    Fools.

  • @dgl1962 dude he was a dr who could put in words how acid worked on the brain no horseshit just something you will never understan unless you take the leap and hang on as the baloon get higher and dont ever let go

  • @rustytrichomes I did acid before you were born, it was fun, but it's not something that a professor should tell his students (and many others across the US) to "drop out and do drugs".

His intentions weren't straight up, he got lots of female attention by doing what he did.

  • So fucking condescending and judgmental this stupid narrator sounds. Amazing arrogance. I'd sooner enjoy spending time with any of those in the video than that jerk off. The guy who invented LSD died at the age of 102, yeah, and this guys 75. Not bad. I look back on my LSD experiences with tremendous joy and satisfaction. I'm so glad I did it. Who are you living for? Think about it.

  • He started out making sense. Too bad all those drugs ate his brain.

  • @dgmoocher Drugs did not eat his brain. Dr. Leary died of cancer. He remained the same brilliant mind up until his death...and after

  • Is that Steve Jobs dropping at 5:02?

  • Your title "High Priest of LSK" is misleading--its the media misuse which Dr. Leary warned us about (we're still suckers). His drug research was only a small part of his neurological work--of course, to the press, the gov.t and wannabes--it was the most glamourous part. I suggest you listen to his interview at Folsom Prison here to get the whole picture of this renaissance man. Still it is so nice that many are ready to see him off---his ashes by the way are in outerspace--he must be smilin

  • druggies all damn fool druggies. lsd types are all sinister like neurosoup girl and leary.

  • @atfatw Oh, i'm sorry is your shit clean?

  • @TraceurX9

well, what about yours anal-retentive! you are like timothy leary a fool, ceep, and a decadent nothing! haha

  • @atfatw you fucker, this guy has lived a long and vibrant life, he has the same after effects as a rockstar I'm sure.

  • @Resdim same after effects as a rockstar I'm sure? More like a prophet haha

  • Most dangerous man in america ?? I think nixon was.

  • @djdjany

    LBJ was worst...

  • @AlDroog And G W Bush even worse...

  • @djdjany

ya that was a twat too...bitches... all of `em...

  • @djdjany And the state on the country today (14.3 TRILLION) in debt, millions of illegal aliens taking millions of jobs from American workers and the housing crash must prove you right huh. Stupid people are different from ignorant people in the ignorant people usually know they are, stupid people believe they are not.

  • Respond to this video... Hippies are old children that never grew up. If they were to just live off there own labors I would have no problem but they live off others.

  • Respond to this video... True love.... yeah personal assistant I love it fur sure man groovey ....

  • CRAZY WHITE PEOPLE IN AMERICA !!!!!!

  • @IamMommaAlways

That absolutely is Dr. Oz! Do you think Oprah knows about his very special patient from the past? Good eye, I had to look again. I'd love to hear him comment on his true opinions today with out a watered down produced for television script.

  • Has anyone else noticed the man pushing Leary's wheelchair looks like Dr. Mehmet Oz?? Wish I knew what all Dr. Oz was partaking of while being in Leary's "employ".

  • This is a fuckn hit peice. Hit peice of shit.

  • proof that drugs make you useless.thank god hippys are dead.

  • @hereinthebronx dude you are an arrogant asshole..

  • @503Nightcrawler Really? wow man-cool-i'm gonna trip out and think about it man

  • Comment removed

  • @hereinthebronx fuck you man. how can you be happy that anyone is dead? especially people who are all love and peace. go ahead and keep sippin on your alcohol, asshole

  • @aniivialplanet Lets see if they remove your comment.(freedom of speech to those who agree only)

since your all about "peace and love" you should practice it more often.

  • @hereinthebronx i didn't say i was a hippie...

  • sorry, but this is more like a "freakshow" than anything that is appealing.

i'd rather trip with someone like albert hoffman. A cool, dignified "real world" type of guy instead of chicks named galaxy or starchild. Leary looks like a trapped rat here. Nothing about this looks pleasurable.

  • Drink motor oil it comes from the ground, what the heck!

  • Drink motor oil it comes from the gound, what the heck!

  • Wow, Tim looks terrible. Why is he in a wheelchair and acting senile at - what did they say - 75? He looks 100.

  • @FlyBabies123 he is dying of cancer you twit...

  • i have a feeling tim was into men

  • @defect530 tim was married four times and had many girlfriends.... i am unaware of any experiences with men...but who knows?

  • @psynapsurfa oh he was married? the men in this video made me think that he might have been gay. gay or not he is still a world class hero in my mind.

    RIP Timothy Leary

  • @defect530 agreed ....world class hero.... some say he was foolish by courting the media so much, bu tyou know, at least someone did.... and at least he was a first class phd student&lecturer at uni too. ie he had brains that worked very well....

if he didnt voice all these things about lsd and the mind, amongst others, who would we look back too in history.. there wou;ld be a gap there....

  • @defect530 your a waste of a human being to judge a man who has worldwide recognition. what do you have to show for yourself but a judgemental comment. at least you got your youtube name right. You are a defect.

  • @420nigga89 hey you fucking shit stain! when did i fucking judge him? go crawl back into your dog house and die. you cant even read a comment right, you must be one smart dumbass.

ps. only a douche bag judges people on usernames. FUCK OFF!

  • doesn't look like drugs helped him. the man's 60 and looks like he's 90 here. makes me not want to take drugs

  • that black guy was like "trust the white man" motherfucker you just through a machate an inch away from my face IM OUT !

  • Chaos?? WTF???

  • This guy lived one hell of a life.

  • Amazing stuff...

  • Greatest troll ever.

  • Salvia and DMT... now these are the real super highway where you can reach 100 billion RPM

  • He died on my birthday when I was young. Where's LSD lately these days beside green leaf.

  • Don't know why, but acid always made me vomit. Oh well.

  • @jenniferjuniper97 Same... but afterwards I feel Much much better :D

  • watch?v=AfOIhKlkUy8

  • Timothy Leary's dead. Oh No ! He's outside looking in !

  • you either get "it" or you don't.

Brings to a mind a quote from the 60's that went something like

"often times we found it wasn't those who had actually done LSD were psychotic, it was those who hadn't"

  • for all of you out there saying blah blah blah drugs are bad. Go look up Steve Job's wikipedia page, you know one of the most successful (by our societies terms), and influential people this side of the 1960's. Scroll down to the part where he mentions his experiences with LSD being and I quote "one of the two or three most important things [he had] done in [his] life".[35] He has stated that people around him who did not share his countercultural roots could not fully relate to his thinking

  • Fuck LSD I'm all about Weed. :D

  • another gem from bill hicks * I'm glad mushrooms are against the law, because I took them one time, and you know what happened to me? I laid in a field of green grass for four hours going, "My God! I love everything." Yeah, now if that isn't a hazard to our country … how are we gonna keep building nuclear weapons, you know what I mean? What's gonna happen to the arms industry when we realize that we're all one?

  • Bill hicks said it best * I think it's interesting the two drugs that are legal, alcohol and cigarettes, two drugs that do absolutely nothing for you at all; and the drugs that might open your mind up to realize how badly you're being fucked every day of your life? … Those drugs are against the law. He-heh, coincidence?

  • 00:18 i saw that dude in coachella once

  • this guy's brain is fried

  • He is an idiot!!!! Not a genius .

  • Uhm, didn't anybody hear "facts" about how LSD "damages" your brain? I don't know about the rest of you, but considering the 500+ trips, I wouldn't say his brain is "damaged" at all. Hum, that's strange. Could the media possibly be lying to us? No, they would never! :)

  • The problem has been that the best product, triple set, has not been availible since "Orange Sunshine". That's because the few that know how to produce it properly are no longer making it. The only people that make it now don't care about anything but making a buck. That's what has fucked it up.

  • Take a good look at the Auric fields and general demeanour of Leary and his foolish acolytes. 'Damaged beyond repair in this lifetime' comes to mind.

Young people please listen: drugs will harm your aura, your brain and your mind. These things are too precious to gamble with! The real way to 'bliss' is through your own heart - yes, not through any external agency ie guru or drug. Happiness, like Truth/s, lies WITHIN.

    Don't medicate - just meditate!

  • @hearts0ngs so true LSD fukt my life for years i prefer to think then be lost in a non controllable world

  • Control is an illusion...this world is chaotic.

  • @NKA23 The system wants this kind of message to be spread . The world is a chaos , ok....., but how we can deal with chaos being a chaotic stupid numbed ? Drugs are to weak and cowards that want to scape from responsibility of assuming the fears and obligations. Lots of scientists and artists were killed mentally before even discover their geniality , because they ´ ve done drugs .

  • Nonsense...the "system" tries to control therefore they preach that there was a "natural order"...in fact the universe is chaotic.

Try to learn about quantum mechanics, then you´ll see...

  • @NKA23 Oh so i believ what makes sense is a men acting like a monkey giving drugs to children and painting stupid figures , just to say he sees what nobody sees?? This makes sense for you? A child being drugged ? This is the revolution? A bunch of insane people living like hippies in a world ready to swallow us? nihilism? If you are not sober to face your enemy you will be dragged. This is the order that this system preaches . He is like a snake hypnotizing us with entertainment and drugs .

  • I didn't talk about revolution at all.

Frankly I don know why you're so hostile towards me.

  • @NKA23 Not towards you, but towards the idea of escaping from reality with scape valves . And what really makes me against Timothy´s idea of life , is that he has no sense of consequences of the seeds. Yes , in this life we are free to do every thing . But every sound will reverberate in the eternity. As you mentioned quantum, you know that the things are connected. years ago , physicists just mentioned Atoms. What i mean is: The invisible things are to be respected, even if we don´t know it.

  • Now that sounds better.:-)
