What do you know about what I know about civics? All we have discussed is interpretation of the Second Amendment which is controversial even at the highest levels of academia. For you to claim that you are right and no other perspectives are valid is ignorant and not very scientific, yes political science is a science also not a philosophy anymore.
By the way my BS is in Psychology with a minor is Sociology, so yes I do have a sociocultural perspective rather than a strict legal one.

The argument has also been made that the second amendment only covers "a well regulated Militia", meaning a legally established Militia. Individuals have no legal right to bear arms if you are a literalist.
In the same way, you don't really have the right to assembly anywhere at anytime you want. The assembly has to be a legal and authorized one if it is to be held in a public area.
There is also the battle between literalist and those that emphasize the "spirit of the law".

There is a reason we have a peaceful, democratic process for a change in representation. Not all revolutions are fought with guns.
If you would prefer you could petition your congressmen to change the bill of rights or just be thankful that not all Americans are literalists.
The spirit of the law is to provide the people with a means of self-defense in a time when professional police didn't exist, not to protect the people's right to commit treason by waging war on the government.

The good thing about the "Spirit of the Law" is that it invites debate and different perspectives. This is healthy in free society and why education is so important for only an educated population can have a constructive policy discussion. This is why I also support Obama's plan to make higher education a right for those who are willing to do civil or military service. What say you on that subject?

My question was rhetorical and not meant to be taken seriously .but I will ask a serious question, how many burglary's are committed where a weapon is the chief motivation ? I would speculate that stealing a weapons is a decant bonus, in that they are worth a lot on the black market and are light and easy to hide. but how many households are targeted in the knowledge they have a weapon .

Actually, there are a lot of other crimes that are paired with break ins. They know they can't used a registered gun or it would trace back to them, so they break into a house, steal a gun, wait a few days, commit whatever crime they were planning (car jacking, hold up, murder), then dump or sell the weapon on the black market. It is big business especially in areas where gangs operate.

No recordings, documents, filed lawsuits, ect.... The Patriot Act (passed 45 days after 9-11) does allow for secret wiretapping approval required by only a secret court....
Do you not think the current administration is doing the same thing right now? It is why they have remained mum on the whole subject.. Show me the proof anyway.... Then maybe we can debate the legalities...

If these allegations are true, the fourth amendment of the constitution was violated and the law was broken.
I want to see this guy go on Fox News, on tough programs such as The O'reilly Factor or Hannity. I want to see if he can stick to his story on hard news shows. Olbermann is a far-left zealot.
For Obama, i agree we should look forward and look back. If there is strong evidence of wrongdoing, Obama's Justice Department should investigate.
