How can we have funding in our country to stop the killing of exotic animals and then have National Geographic promoting it. Gene Rurka is the chef rationalizing this sickness. Heya. Preservation of Wildlife doesn't mean you keep everything born alive. Deer have very few predators these days. When animals lose their predators/controlling factors in the food chain they can often expand quickly and with dire results. Look at the NE to see how unchecked deer pops can cause damage. Keeping the population controlled keeps them from destroying animals/plants lower in the chain while reducing transmittable diseases and contact with humans.

Anyway, pigs are disgusting animals, living in their own filth and eating their feces. They are seen as unclean in Islam and therefore are forbidden to be eaten. Though I wouldn't say eating or not eating pork makes you healthy or unhealthy, there are many other factors that play into that. I don't know what the Quran says about eating insects.

I agree.. I'm a Roman Catholic and according to what I've read in the Bible(the Old Testament), we also have limitations on what we're supposed to eat. Like blood and unclean animals which actually(according to what I remember, I'll have to check on it) also points to meat from pigs. I admit, it's not practiced as it should be. I also eat pork. I do like the occasional insect goodies from Hotlix, but have yet to try the full feast of such wondrous meats. I do find them tasty with a bit of chili seasoning, best for any meats. Although I would not touch red meat (aside pig).

I currently live in North America, but I do love to explore foods around the world. Many parts that are not commonly used of the animal (eye for instance) do contain very beneficial properties and in some instances stimulates.
