  • still a bit laggy ^^

  • if you mute the music and watch them play...it looks Lame!!!

  • Ever heard of lazer tag?

  • I want to play simcity 4 with this tech xD XD XD Would be asome xD

  • would love to see an update.

  • faik man that screen will mever follow that dot. and how the fuck can ther be lag in real life

  • @florisaartsen The lag is from the camera HAHA!!

  • And finally. I can make the awesome noscopes i dreamed about..

    This really is awesome.

    Id .. Id pay..

God damnit. How mutch is it?

  • go to paintball

  • it is the video or its the game who move like that?? or maybe is my computer?? xD

  • or you could have an airsoft war or a paintball war its better and cheaper just a thought

  • looks like technology is not developed enough for that kind of games

  • what about airsoft, or its retarded cousin paintball? That is a thousand times better, and far simpler.

  • @vladnuke But this is techi and shit. Its new.

Id be far cooler as soon as someone made it work better (as in, Cheaper tech, less lagg)

That way you only need to pay once. and have an infinite amount of diffrent guns. that are moddable.

  • This is pretty good, Yes Sir!

It only needs some heavy polishing and better response time, it looks very laggy.

  • I WILL PLAY "DOOM" ANY DAY DAN DIS SHIT

  • I actually like seeing this in such a rough format. I've been waiting for an AR fps like this so it's neat to see this tech in such an early stage. Still, I wouldn't be surprised to discover the military's light years ahead of this for training. (no offense at all) I do love the idea of using the Wii remotes. Very nice work all around.

  • good job guys!! it could be the future of the fps games...

  • 1:41 what is that creature?

  • If this is real then wii realy need to pick up there act. Augmented reality as made much more advancements then this. Personally i think this may be fake. Wii remotes act on infrared and bluetooth.

  • wouldn't it be more effective if they closed those blinds and bought a 40 dollar laser tag set from walmart??

  • but augmented reality is so much better.

  • you are really right, here you have to carry a laptop on your back. And what happens if you hit the laptop against the wall. I prefer a good MILES lasertag configuration for $80

  • lol they copy F.E.A.R sound effects xD

    thats lame

  • lol look at the way players just wonder around aimlessly and stand right in front of enemies not doing anything.

Just like in a real skirmish, huh?

To be fair the frame rate on those visuals is about 1FPS, no wonder everyone is confused. If they ran they'd be half way across the room before the picture even updates.

Conclusion: got a lot of potential, but currently unplayable. Without the bombastic music dubbed on top this video would be laughable lol.

  • rofl shit

  • 2:23 how lame is that?!

  • Choppy

  • its only at the beginning stages so give em a breack, it will be better in like 5 years.

  • fuckin awesome man this is the next step an xbox is already workin on it

  • dude it laggggggggggs

  • nothing beats mouse and keyboard

i mean, compare footage from Rainbow Six Vegas, for example... much more fast paced, enemies behind walls, great cover system etc

and then watch again this video

this can be played with those IR toys or with airsoft guns, without even using Wiimotes and stuff

try doing a dive roll, blind fire, running etc

not possible: the crosshairs are in the screen, so no blind fire and fast movement causes lag and hitbox issues

  • Conventional video games have been around a lot longer than AR video games.

Give it ten or fifteen years and this shit will be mainstream and totally fucking awesome in ways we can't imagine.

  • @bf2lover42

meh its just a primary design, what they are trying to do in the long-run is doing those fast paced game in actual reality. Also, have u ever played an old shooter? those games are slow too, yet look at what they hav become in 15 years.

  • Quake III Arena was one of the best competitive games ever, and it was one of the games responsible for the popularization of online competitive FPS, and it didnt have bit hitbox/ hit reg issues, altough lag was constant for who still used dial up

what i mean is that with the correct funding and developmente team, this would be already be fully developed

in my opinion, the problem is the Wii... if they could use a base system without having to adapt one that already exists it would be better

  • good points, especially about using their own system. Even though it is understandable that they do adapt one to focus o on other parts, or just to see how it could work. Quake 3 was awesome too, but I was referring to even older games, kinda like when the only really good shooter was like goldeneye

  • Goldeneye was produced by a totally non professional team... something impossible today, where only big companies get the right to develop games, and small companies only have sucess through new gameplay (World of Goo, for example)

by the way, quake III is from 1999, Unreal from 1998 and goldeneye from 1997

  • @bf2lover42

    HOLY SHIT NO WAY!!!!

I though golden eye was way earlier. Guess I put my foot in my mouth (is that the way you say it?) this time. But o well, I'd rather play games sitting down then having to move all the time and stuff, so we will see what happens. Now what I want is like normal FPS, except with those gun controllers from those arcades :P

  • they just need funding, and a good platform

i dont know about the Wii motion plus (or whatever its called) can help the gameplay, but even older games had better features

what this game needs is a gameplay like Tremulous (search it, its free) which combines FPS and strategy

that would make the lack dive rolls, blind fire while on cover and double jumps seem less important

  • 1:45 <-- TURTLE, TURTLE

  • AHHH! Quick! Stomp on em!

  • too baaad.. but this is begining...?

  • laggs realy bad

  • try airsoft

  • what will this have that just playing with airsoft or the alike wont?

  • The videorecord is very laggy.

And the 3d models are not static. that's stupid

  • i already see this becoming a huge sport.

  • what hardware do you render with?

  • Yea... I used to do something like this when I was a kid... except we used an advanced technology known as "imagination"...

... guns were made of sticks and rope... pine cones were grenades... and it was 100x better than this.

  • Slow down there tiger, I don't know of the rest of us are ready for that kind of forward thinking.

  • Wow...so you don't play any video games or watch any television or movies?

  • @RichGilly I used to post comments like this, backlashing others work just for the sake of it.

And then I got a life.

  • Pretty darn neat work here! The idea of color-based recognition is good, is that done from the camera? (Because I thought wiimotes could only sense 4 or so IR sources). Going by colour is a good idea untill someone release's a non-liner marker lib. (which would allow markers on tshirts etc).

  • yes, we analyze the images coming from the camera and use a histogram back projection and thereafter a Camshift algorithm to detect the player.

  • Man, I hope you guys really polish this thing up into something incredible, nice job guys!

  • yup, polish this thing up, pretty nice
