@ButterflyReborns It's not a hair drier it's an embossing heat gun it heats higher than a hair drier and uses less air flow so it won't blow the embossing powder around. Mine is some cheap Darice brand, many craft stores carry them.
How do you keep from burning out your heat gun when doing this? I've lost THREE so far, because of the off/on issue. I'm debating just going for a hairdryer when I want to do a lot of prep. It'll be less hot, but more airy. Seriously bummed I keep wasting money on heat guns!
@That70sHeidi I've never had a problem. I only use it for a few minutes at a time. I also have an old hair drier that I use for the same thing. A hair drier is better for paint anyway, it dries stuff, where a heat gun sort of bakes it. I may see if I can find a quiet hair drier and use that instead.
@comfortableshoesstud Have you ever super baked gesso/thick acrylic paint? It starts to bubble up in patches then slowly cools back down and gives a wonderful texture. Are you using any particular brand of heat gun? I've been using Darice blue guns, they're about $14 at a store.
@That70sHeidi Yeah I've baked it. It smells bad. Mine is 5 years old and it was the super cheap one that Michael's carries. It was about $19 back then. It's probably a branded version of the darice gun.
Wow, Les! Your videos are getting better and better! I mean, they've all been awesome...I've learned so much from you in each one...but your composition/editing of this one is fabulous. Love how you took out the parts you didn't want and are totally turning it into something 100% yours. Now, to see where you take it!
@ACraftJunkie I wish I'd shot this in on big long shot instead I was insane enough to shoot it in 30 sec to 1 min chunks... Next time I'll shoot in one long chunk and edit stuff out. I didn't want to have the moments of heat gun in it too much. Next time it get recorded and trimmed! LOL Can't wait to see what you do with this idea!
@pat54lee not all of them carry these. BUT they do have really nice advertising stuff. I'm working on another version f the junk journal and that can use the 3 fold fliers and other stuff you get in junk mail.
Like where you're going with this. Starbucks here doesn't really do these junkmail folders I don't think. I never go in there, it's always toooo busy with schoolkids and students. Have no idea how they can afford to sit there all day, probably on just one drink all afternoon ;)

@EvelineUK like lilithkills says junk mail and adverts aren't hard to come by! You could use any sort of staple bound catalog or flier.
