  • how do u put files in the software

  • @MrDeathStroke1: I'm really not sure what you are asking. My best guess is that you want to know how to import your own samples in to Hydrogen. If that is what you want to do, watch my video titled "Create a Custom Hydrogen Drumkit"

  • Hydogen is awesome! I just recently discovered it, made my own drumkit and I'm working on a project...just one quick note; the recording botton desn't seem to work on my laptop. Can anyone tell me how it works?

  • @lmr641: The record button is for MIDI input. If you have a MIDI Drum set or MIDI Keyboard and you link it to Hydrogen (I do this using Patchage, a GUI front end for JACK) you can record the notes you play.

  • Hydrogen rocks.

  • @BenZeneProject I also like Linux MultiMedia Studio aka LMMS .

  • Nice one. Can you help me??

When I record sounds pressing my keyboard, they aren't in good order. Also, sound the sound 0.5 sec later after pressing the key. I am using jackd, alsa. Any idea? I think it's related to thing called Latency or so.

  • @himalchulicup: I'll have to check it out when I get home. I haven't used my keyboard much with Hydrogen. When you say keyboard, do you mean your QWERTY keyboard or a MIDI Keyboard

  • @metalx1000 I meant my QWERTY keyboard. It would be much easier writing note by hitting keyboard.

  • @himalchulicup: Sorry, Just got home and I gave it a try on my machine. I have no delay with the key presses and recording works fine.

I'm using Hydrogen v0.9.4, What version are you running?

  • @metalx1000 mine is the same version, Hey, i just completed a backing drum track for my guitar solo. it's easy and i used my mouse-clicks. thanks anyways!!

  • @himalchulicup: Nice, you show post it on youtube and put it as a response video to this one.

  • @metalx1000 sure, it will be with H2 Drum beats and LMMS with BASS Guitar. Guitar solo recording..Later!:-)

  • Does this program work with the mac system? I have it for windows and it keeps crashing and it's just garbage but i'm thinking about getting a mac book for christmas.

  • @xXEsPLoVeRXx: According to the hydrogen site, it runs on MacOSX. But, you can save yourself a lot of time, money, and headache by just installing Linux on your current machine. I've never had Hydrogen Crash on me, and I use it all the time. I think your current problems are most likely caused by Windows.

  • is there a way to make the beat pattern longer cause i can only get it to go to 32 in the size

  • @xXxstuddsrulesEmoXxX: 32 is the longest you can make a loop. But the loops then go into the song editor. I go over this in Part #4 of my Hydrogen tutorials.

  • I just found this software today, and your videos really helped me get running with it. Thank!!

  • @IncisalEdges: Glad I could help. Thanks for watching!

  • is this for windows also??

  • @xXGuitarxManXx: I have not run it in Windows myself, but I guess you can. but, from my understanding there are some issues with importing kits in the Windows version. And, why use Windows and there is Linux.

  • I've used hydrogen drum machine for all drum track in all my song.. Thanks HYDROGEN :) check my song :) Awesome drum machine ever :)

  • @decodine: you should post some of your songs as video responses to this video.

  • "More Cow Bell!" Why does Firefox go muted when Hydrogen is running? SourceForge has extra sound libraries.

  • What distro are you using?

    Is it Ubuntu?

If so, it's that crap Pulse Audio they insist on using.

Pulse Audio has potential, but as far as I'm concerned, it's not anywhere near stable.

  • You called it, Karmic. No Sound Card either, not as necessary as it was in the 90s.

  • The flashplayer doesn't understand/communicate with many sound daemons, probably why.

  • Keep watching. I hope to do a new video on hydrogen each Monday for the next few weeks.

  • Sweet! d(-_-)b

  • cool... can you do a video on how to get some musical talent... lol... coz i can figure out how to use these apps but i cant put anything together that doesn't make my ears bleed :D

  • Yeah, I'm not really a Musician myself.

I Just love playing with these tools.

The best I can to is create songs that sound like Sound Track from a cheap 80's movie.

If only I could go back in time with these tools and get a job in Hollywood :)

  • lol

  • But, you can always try to do some covers. Look up some Music sheets online and input the notes into Rosegarden or LMMS. That lest you can get a feel for how things look on the screen. That's my best advise.

Oh, and Nine Inch nails has made there last 3 or so Albums available for remixing. You can download the different instrument tracks and delete the original drum track and try to may your own. This way you don't have to create a whole new song.
