As for suggestions in the comments below, I think if they couldn't get Idina to do the part of Elphaba for whatever reason (age, etc) I wouldn't want them choosing Lea Michele, simply because she is SO MUCH LIKE Idina. I love Lea, and she is very great and talented, and I mean no disrespect, but I just feel that if she were cast it would be more because of her similarity to Idina and not her individual talents.

@remyfacade maybe she does but can she sing as high as Idina can or any of the others that have come after her? Cos they set the bar really, really high. Besides it's not just about singing but the ability to portray Elphaba well and to me personally she doesn't fit. I'm not saying Anne is a bad actress but I just don't see her as Elphaba. Even if they don't cast Idina or Kristin I want them to cast the best actresses for the job because I'm such a big fan and I'm very attached to it.

@YourOasis97 she can. I've heard her. Also no matter who plays what they will change the octaves, they always do. Elphaba is a character like Effie it doesn't matter if you can act, long as you can hit that note you'll get the part. Best actress for some strange reason hollywood seems to think Beyonce is a great actress so I would relay on hollywood knowing what good acting is anymore

@remyfacade I guess I'm just picky because out of all the Elphabas that I've seen Idina really seemed to "become" Elphaba and gave it all she got, acting wise. She really embraced it, which is no wonder since she was there from the beginning of it all in workshops. If they ever do the movie, I hope they cast the best person for the job. Of course singing is the most important but I would hope some good acting will come into play as well.

@YourOasis97 sweetie you have to do your research when you are say things, and don't go by the cast recording, and what you hear on youtube. If you just seen the show a few times or 1 or 2 Elphaba's then you can't really say "who's the best Elphaba". Stephanie was the very first Elphaba. and that character does not take acting chops. I've seen 10 different Elphaba's live on stage, not just hearing them on youtube.
