@bears7777777 its in the Modmyi source, witch is natively installed already in cydia. . make sure you search "ENHANCED ctorrent" . . if that fails search dtunes, and dtunes should install everything you need. although if your on any firmware 4.x+ im not sure if this will all work, hell i couldnt get it to work on 3.1.2 +

Can YOU please help me? So I download a movie file (mp4) from "the pirate bay" using dtunes. I prepare it. Then I go to mobile terminal and type: ./gettorrent A whole bunch of stuff starts happening. It creates a file. Then it shows:

It may be that.. because I joined a wifi network at my college that blocks torrent programs (I can't use vuze or utorrent or anything) and on ctorrent it says 0/19/790 now, but still isn't downloading. Any idea how I can get it running over 3G again? Is ATT going to **** me and charge $500 or something?

This worked for me for a few torrents, but now whenever I use the same technique on a torrent that i KNOW has lots of seeders (according to thepiratebay), it stays at 0/0/1 .... as if theres only 1 seeder. And the dl/ul speed is 0,0. Everything seems in order, it's just not moving. Any ideas? is it possible that ATT saw I downloaded like 100 MB over 3G and froze my bandwith?

I couldn't get Torrentula to work correctly.. Every time I tried to open it, it was the terminal that came up.

And I think I once got the iPod version of the BSOD. (Where it shows the sick computer, and some code)

I actually purposely downloaded a virus to one of my iPod's to see how it would react... A short story would be corrupted colors.

what you can do too , is install perl on your iPhone and run CTCS so you can run ctorrent in the background and you can control it via your webbrowser ; so no finder

If the files are already in var/mobile/Library/Downloads then just install the program "Installous" from cydia. Then, when in Installous, hit the "downloads" button on the bottom and you ipa's should show up. Click one and it will ask to install or cancel. hit install and it will run through stuff and install the ipa's. (MAKE SURE the files are IN the directory and not a subfolder)

If you dont have the files in Library/Downloads, use mobile finder to "move" them to the correct directory.

You can download a program called "docs" in cydia, and from there, you navigate to where your folder is located (var/mobile/etc etc) then click on the files to view. For a better experience, i suggest moving them to your pc and syncing them through itunes

It depends on what type of file you downloaded. If its music, you will need a music player like dTunes or PwnPlayer. If its a video, pwnplayer will work but it has to be .mp4 format. If its a document, docs will work.

It's possible if you dont have the safari DL plugin installed that the folder isnt even made yet. in that case, you can DL the safari DL plugin from cydia, or just use iphone browser to navigate to the var/mobile/Library/ folder and create a folder named Downloads

If the kill isnt working, and you dont want to let the file finish just reboot by holding power switch and home button for 10+ seconds. the files you downloaded will be corrupt. The reason it took so long to load is because it had to allocate enough space and make black files it could overwrite to make sure you didnt run out of space half way through the DL. After you restart your phone, you will need to delete the corrupt files with iphonebrowser or diskaid or scp. Thanks!

That's most likely a no.. As far as I know (I could be wrong) I don't think you can run terminal with the backgrounder app. Check it out though. On that same note, BE CAREFUL. If it does run in the background, make sure you're not doing too many data-intensive processes at once, or your phone may not be able to handle it.

I am using DTunes which I downloaded from Cydia and in this updated version you can select to download a torrent file from the default piratebay website and then once downloaded you just tap on the downloaded .torrent file and then go into Mobile Terminal and enter ./gettorrent and it starts.

This seems to be a bit more simple for those people who are not sure about entering long command strings.

You should set your auto-lock to never and keep the phone plugged in so you won't lose internet connection first off. Secondly, have you tried this method with something of average size? (about 20-100MB ?) Lemme know if a small one will work for you.

It was the same with me, and I figured out how to fix it. When you go into Terminal, tap once to get a small menu on the screen. Then, hit "misc." and then hit config. You will get a full screen menu. Tap on Terminal 1. Here, you can adjust the color of your typing. Before, the text wouldn't show up because the default settings are clear text that you can't see. Hope this helped.

Time depends on which torrent you download.

When searching for a torrent, find one with a high number of peers or "seeders".

As for your traffic getting slowed or stopped by your ISP, there's not much you can do.

And if you use your iphone or itouch on your wifi, it's just gonna look like another computer downloading. It may be harder for them to recognize it, but they'll see the patterns.

I recommend you just try it with a popular torrent and watch for sluggish performance.
