  • 3:57... if your gonna tell them to get low and stay low, demonstrate it right please.

  • boy, fielding would be a lot easier if the ball just sat there like it did for him

  • Excellent fundamentals.Good first move with the crossover step.Staying low to recieve the ball and good position to prepare to make make the throw.

  • hey john peebody! you should teach no one.

  • What do you have to say about the chicken wing? Thats something Ive heard a lot of coaches say. They say when you field a grounder, get into the chicken wing position. ummm....?

  • I heard he was gay?

  • "BOOM!"

  • dude, my dad knew this guy . he has been the same size since he was 13. he used to hit one handed in little league because it was so unfair. haha

  • The qoutation marks were left off my 2 post below. Sorry youtube viewers.

@ 0:57 sec into your clip you state, "Ready to move off our heels" YOUR WRONG!

@ 2:07 seconds you contradict yourself. "We will not be as quick as possible if we are on our heels".

  • no he said. off your heels. not on them

  • dude, you are fucking retarded

he is stating to get ready to move quickly.

He is saying that you should be ready to move, and off your heels, not ready to move off your heels. THat's why he paused between saying those two things

    MOTHERFUCKING DUMBASS

  • @ 2:07 seconds you contradict yourself. We will not be as quick as possible if we are on our heels.

  • @ 0:57 seconds into your clip you state, Ready to move off our heels WRONG! Your toes should be slightly pointed in and you push off the balls and toes of your feet. Try pushing off the heels whether toes in or out, it's difficult at best. Now try pushing off with the toes in a bit as noted above, much easier to push off and with more explosive movement. As a matter of fact, if your toes are out (I know you didnt say toes out) its actually a little painful.

  • At the 57 second mark. He obviously knows to make sure to be off the heels. He clearly just continued on with his next thought instead of stopping his sentence and then moving on to his next thought. "ready to move in a quick position, off our heels".

  • hay!!! goto my profile and msg my msn name if u want to talk! s

  • thx for sharing

  • nice tip on staying low

    thanks

  • wow i cant believe how wrong i was fielding ground balls..thanks jon..really helpfull stuff

  • Guys u cant posively take tips from a guy wearing a first base mitt u have 2 b kidding me... we know y first basemans play first cause they cant FIELD!!!!!!!!!

  • ''boom'' lol

  • that was dumb, dont ever talk again.

  • you just messed up in the end

you have to field the ground ball that is in front of you, glove side

how you do it you could easily fall

  • GOOD VIDEO

  • boom

  • Compare "First step - left foot" at 1:56 and "First step - left foot" at 2:19. The second demonstration of the same movement clearly shows your first step is/was taken with the right foot, the better, more efficient technique. Economy of motion. Otherwise - pretty good job and sound advice. How about a video demonstrating the footwork for both the shortstop and the second baseman on the pivot when turning a double play? Thanks.

  • googd tips but not a big fan of his stance hi thighs should be parallel to the ground

  • great videos
