@londontrialscat It depends on your experience. If you are novice, take the same route I did, pack warm clothes, food and drink and expect 6-8 hours. :o)
Me and hubby did BN back in oct. The weather was crap. It took us 3.5 hrs going up. I was knackered (hubby wouldn't rest much). Going down was far worse, it took 2 hrs I was in agony with my toes. I wanted to rest, but hubby wouldn't let me, lol, (hes a Royal Marine). I have since lost both my toenails. Every time I look at them is a reminder of that day. Would I do it again? HELL YES. it was amazing!!!!
beautiful acomplished ,i took a rock from the summit i hold it everytime i feel negative , feel the energy from the highest point in uk , great acheivment ,what a lovely country im going back next year , killer coming down though scotland i love you xx
hi, i am only 14, nearly 15 but am doing the 3 peaks challenge (snowdon, scaelfel and ben nevis) have climbed snowdon 4 times, scarfel once, and went on a trek to breacon becons. we are doing the challenge in june, and i am currently doing training, 40 minutes of jogging a day, is there anything you could recommend?
I just did it yesterday, it was amazing, 3 and a half hours up, 3 hours down, the weather couldn't have been better, its very hard on the legs at times but it is definitely worth it. If you ever get the chance, do it, it really is a mind blowing experience and the scenery is just the definition of beautiful. Hopefully I can do it again soon. Great video man, really shows it well.
I really enjoyed your video. My son and I will be coming up from Southampton in August to climb. Thank you very much for making us even more excited !
I did Ben Nevis in 2009. It's 5 miles up and 5 miles down, took us just under 7 hours. You can get a bus from Fort William to the Visitor's Center at the start of the climb
Lovely video. I really enjoyed watching it. We've done Nevis a few times now. We only live about 2 hours away from it, so are driving up to climb it again in 3 weeks time! Just hoping the rain and wind die-down a little for the day of our climb!
@goldchrist1 make it happen my friend, if we dont make the time we dont get the time, this life of ours is so very short,do it and keep it you will always be glad you did :)
Nice video! I climbed Ben Nevis in July this year, but from about halfway the climb the fog took all over the view, unfortunately :( You must have been lucky, I read that the chances for a clear view at the top are quite few.
Then go make it happen! I drove there from the South East this year and it was utterly brilliant... Though these guys are quite lucky to have such clear weather, s'brilliant!
Nice VId, Try camping at the lake overnight ( this avoids the midges!) then climbing PT II early - really early the next morning May is best - I put a short vid of the summit up.
great video, Helen was a bit brave standing on the edge of the North face there. Fair play not sure id stand there so confidently. Did it a couple of years ago in a hurried passing as a part of the 3 peaks challenge, be back up there with a more leisurely style in 2 weeks time, hope we get a day like you had looked beautiful.
I walked that mountain on the 26 Sept 09 after failing to complete it on the 29 Aug due to being cold. I felt guilty that I dragged my husband off it before completing so we went back a month later and did it. I was misty and we had an inverted view with blue sky one minute then dark foreboding mist the next on the summit. I recommend it to all because it truly is a wonderful place
I'm thinking of driving to Scotland at the beginning of April and climbing Ben Nevis...any tips?

Is Ben Nevis the highest mountain in whole Britain?
Schmok66 4 months ago
@Schmok66 Yes it is :o)
Henllan 4 months ago
@Henllan Thank you for the information :) and in which part of Britain is it located?
Schmok66 4 months ago
@Schmok66 The nearest town/village is "Fort William" in the highlands of Scotland - near the top of the British Isles :o)
Henllan 4 months ago
@Henllan Ohh,um, do you go there often?
Schmok66 4 months ago
@Schmok66 Only once. It is a long distance from where I live. There are a number of routes up and I may yet return :o)
Henllan 4 months ago
@Henllan If you would return, which year did you think of?

@Schmok66 Hum, I have no idea .... I try to keep exploring new places. Currently I am enjoying the underworld :o)
Henllan 4 months ago
@Henllan Wow :D It sounds very exciting! I saw you make trips into caves. How deep could you penetrate as an amateur?
Schmok66 4 months ago
@Schmok66 Several hundred metres but I am also a member of a club :o)
Henllan 4 months ago
@Henllan oh, so you are a skilled " caveman" :D I would be kind of scared in narrow tunnels. I would be afraid of never going back due to a collapse.
