But at those days, the jump start rule wasn't as strict as today. Just see starts from those days. It was common to move a bit before the green light. Nothing special.
@gmiky also in those days when you popped the car into 1st gear it always made the car jump forward. these gentlemen could trust each other. these days they cannot they are just boys and not MEN.
true, but don't forget the difference between a micro camera back then and a micro camera now. What i want to say is that in modern F1, video technology and cameras are definitely producing a much more steady image and clearer onboard footage that makes the whole thing look so easy. But the vibrations are there, even if not so much as in the past.
Brilliant! Take away the computers, traction control, launch control and all the other aids. Driver against driver not software against software. F1 has forgotten it's meant to be entertaining.
This is 1991, no doubt about it. McLaren developed it's semi-auto gear box only in 1992.
In the 1990 canadian GP Senna started on pole and won the race. He retired in 1991 with mechanical problems (other thing that we don't see a lot nowadays in top teams).
didnt the car on pole jump the start ?

Was there an additional chicane before the straight after the tight hairpin and before the wall of champions?

Both drivers can be proud of what they have achieved. Truly iconic F1 drivers that even new F1 drivers look up to and aspire to be like.

This was real deal back then. Car bouncing and vibrating, it was a lot tougher those days than it is now.

Its '91. Senna had the number 1 in 1991 and also, those are two Williams FW14s in front of Senna.

It's 1991. You can see it from Senna's cockpit. Also, in the 1990 canadian GP Senna started on pole and won the race.
