Why would anyone complain about a highly progressive metal band progressing? They're at the top of their game, haven't sold out at all, and are living out their wildest dreams. To insult their progress is like saying bands should only be allowed to release one album, and if it's good, they win and can release another album that sounds exactly the same. I don't know. Even if you don't agree with me, Between the Buried and Me is a trophy of modern metal music. I think we can all agree on that.
I still remember when me and my friends first heard this band back in 02, they were amazing and very different compared to what we were listening to. After Silent Circus they had numeroius member changes and really haven't been the same band since. I'll take Glass Casket over modern BTBAM any day.
To this day I still love the s/t. Great little album and its a shame its reletively unknown compared to their later output. Though I'd wager many modern BTBAM fans would probably dislike the album since it's not as technical or progressive as their newer stuff. Thats definitely true, but I think the songwriting is better on this album (and Silent Circus) than anything they've done post Alaska (Alaska was pretty good too).
@Ollie693 On wikipedia it says that Goodyear did some clean singing in the self-titled album. And since there are at least 3 different singers/tunes/whatever in the clean part, I'm guessing he did sing some in this song. Allways cool with drummers who sing.
Seriously everybody who is hating on the new btbam releases can just get out of here, to me, they just get better and better with each new material they put out. BTBAM will never seize to impress me. boo yah!
@jbtbamjjj I hate on the new BTBAM and I won't get out of here because I'm listening to classic (and better) BTBAM. In fact, if you're so in love with modern BTBAM, you should get out of here and go listen to some of that stuff. I'll hang out over here and continue to enjoy classic BTBAM - the s/t, Silent Circus, and even Alaska.
This is one of my favorite metal songs of all time. And whats strange is this song will never get attention like it should. Seriously I'm a fan of Pantera and I've just been waiting for a band to come along that got me excited the way these first couple of BTBAM songs did. For a moment this band really had a good sound. Its just different now...
why is everybody hating on the new btbam? i think it's pretty fucking safe to say that everything this band does is amazing. This EP, Silent Circus, Alaska, Anatomy of, Colors, TGM, and Parallax are all amazing in their own different ways. I couldn't ask for any more from this band
@Ebenezershnezer81 I stand corrected, WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO ALL THEIR SCREAMING?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? They sound like a fuckin jazz band now. Where hath the hardcore awesomeness gone, and when will it come back?
I'm so used to the demo version of this song, before it was impossible to tell the difference for me. But then after hearing the demo version so many times on my Walkman (thinking it's the album version) I finally gave this version a listen after months of being used to the demo and just felt dumb! Ahaha. Even the opening riff is faster on the demo than this version, but still they're pretty identicle (hence no verses or lyrics were changed, this is just a re-recording off of the demo).
@upnorthtoker What about your ears? If by the means of quality found within life, if you're refering to this song.I'm ultimately presuming your ears have been blessed with such divine godliness by musicians over a million times better than you will ever even aspirate to be, then yes. Yes you should be saying "oww" my ears.
dude i could listen to self titled album all day imo way better than there new shit even though its WAYYYYY heavier and mean the breakdowns are so fucking worth it anytime i listen to any song of this cd it gives me chills up my spine
God the lyrics are so amazing but i wish the vocals were more clear. the "ee eee eee" shit is so far out of context. They should release another version of this song because the lyrics put me on the verge of tears.
Song changed my FUCKING LIFE!!! I am not joking haha the song as well as the band completely warped my mind just how technical, heavy, sincere, and beautiful this genre of music should be. And they are some humble dudes, all the success they have is much deserved.
best btbam album hands down!!! I Love every track oon it which i cant say for any other of their albums
WHY THE FUCK wont they play the soft echo guitar sounds with the slow drugs LIKE FROM 2:35 TO 3:28 and on some other songs off s/t

Is Will Goodyear (BTBAM's first drummer) the one singing the clean part which Paul sings nowadays?
Mrcrazy80 5 months ago
This song is amazing. Their new stuff is too. This band should be the Beatles of our metal generation... sadly it isn't..
caillet14 5 months ago
@caillet14 why should they be the over-publicized, over-rated band?
JerseyProperty 4 months ago
@JerseyProperty Because their talent demands it. At least that's my opinion.

@caillet14 I knew that xD Great response.
