  • There is so much talking and so little doing and teaching how.

  • world peace

  • GnosticMedia - oxymoron

  • People always say "Psychedelic drugs are shortcuts".... But what's really wrong with shortcuts? If you want to go from A to B... why would you take the long way? Or if you were to build a house, why build it with your own bare hands instead of utilizing tools... These plants have co-existed with human beings for so many thousands of years. We are supposed to live in symbiosis with them

  • @geostigma123 drugs are a crutch, you dont need anything to get to the spirit world but you should meditate to build your trigger stronger.

  • @neighbouroftheforest How is it a crutch when it's been an essential part of shamanism and spirituality for 50.000 years? There's nothing that can change a person from negativity and egocentric thinking to compassionate attitude and wholeheartedness as quick as psychedelics. I never said it's required to use them in every shamanic setting. But to have that psychedelic "reality check" every 2-3 months to remove you from Physical attachments is healthy and nothing but healthy

  • @geostigma123 sure you can use drugs as a crutch to try and reach the spirit world, also chants, dances, rattles, crystal balls, tarot cards and other crutches.

But it is best to drop these things quickly so we do not have to depend on these every time we try to enter these worlds, all we need is our hearts and belief.

TheTom Brown's Sacred Silence Meditation and some soft drumming is all I use and I feel and know my trigger is becoming stronger ever minute of the day.

  • @neighbouroftheforest I practice this meditation for only 10-20 mins 2-3 times a day with powerful results! This meditation will only be necessary until you build a strong trigger and are familiar the spirit world.

This is everyones birthright and more like an instinct that we lost instead of some mysterious ultimate power that only some can reach. It is so simple

Anyone with a heart or change of heart can be a Shaman, once your trigger is strong, you can than enter these worlds at ease, Blink

  • @neighbouroftheforest Even at the beginning of your practice you will notice small miracle and be amazed at the communication between flesh and spirit. So you dont have to be a full Shaman to start seeing and believing results.

Do not try too hard for it is in us and meant to be..that it is all so easy, and thats why people do not believe. They think they have to suffer or go through more hell to be worthy, this is not true.

Keep your intensions simple, fun and full of love!

  • @neighbouroftheforest Tom Brown Jr. teaches this simplicity to Shamanism, for to have this knowledge you can not hide in the wilderness and keep it for yourself, but instead you must share with others that are interested so that you will eventually have unlimited power from the earth and the universe!

To hide is to only be allowed so much power. If you are one of the few that hear the calling of the earth to help protect and serve as Jesus and many others through out time did..your heart knows.

  • @neighbouroftheforest Different cultures use different techniques, which most end up to enlightenment. But They only use the methods which they were taught and then passed down. I have studied and found a more simple and pure way to enter the spirit realms and I know I'm not hallucinating from drugs. If you ever had to enter the spirit world quickly in a crisis, you want to enter at the blink of an eye, not have to dance and take drugs, by that time you could be seriously injured or dead.

  • @neighbouroftheforest All You Need Is Heart!

  • @neighbouroftheforest All You Need Is Heart!

  • @neighbouroftheforest And if that Technique works for you, I'd say you should stick with it. I think it depends on your age... Me as a rather young adult male = bad attention span, spontanious etc, like the plant solution (for now). Maybe later in life I will see the value of these other techniques better... who knows. Take care my friend ;)

  • DMT(Ayahuasca) is not a drug, it is spirit molecule.Maybe, some hallucinogen are keys of other world.....

Abraxas?Ohh, He is a demon from Goetia-Keyf of Solomon.

  • I think the lack of Shamans is one of the things that's wrong with western society. But first all of the draconian drug laws need to be repealed.

  • I say we owe nothing and no one. We are not born into debt. We only live once in this limited vessel of flesh why not get into touch with our spiritual side authentically and archaically as possible. Higher levels of consciousness and a balance of the soul does everyone good

All in it together. All with-in or all with out

  • I ate the amanita muscaria nothing happend I just got sick.

  • Shaman definition- the polar opposite of the guy doing the interview

  • these guys are so wrong it makes me so frustrated its dusgesting read up before u speak of something u don't know and they miss pronouce it several times

  • @shadowgheart In what way are they wrong?

  • @GnosticMedia well first off its not just herbal or trees thats just a very small aspect of it alot of it has to do with energy and being connecting with the universe and relizing u are one with the universe and u are just a very small part of a greater machine 2nd another small part is fighting the demons within in an attempt to make ur self a better person in anyway u can asking questions and doing things that most ppl consider wrong right to get the right answers 4yourself for self growth

  • @shadowgheart Hummm, obviously they never read any of Ivan Van Sertima books for sure. They "conveniently" don't talk about some of the OBVIOUS things about Shamanism, its origins, and those who it comes from.

  • Geez, these guys don't know crap

  • eve and the apple dose sound like she took a entheogen.

  • People seriously interested in shamanism might want to check out "CULTURAL SURVIVAL" on the net. Help keep these unique practitioners from going extinct.

  • I practice shamanism and I don't use drugs because you don't have to, it's a good experience and you can learn alot from it, and it is NOT a bad thing. People who think it's dark works are stupid because it is not at all, read a book on how to journey and what it is before you go and say shit

  • @MrCodysir

Indeed. Modern western culture condemns drug use. In my country, cannabis is legal, and is not condemned by the majority of people. Alcohol is not condemned by the majority of people, even though it is a lot more harmful than cannabis, and it actually WAS prohibited and condemned by American society for a while. It depends on the culture and society. Hallucinogens such as Ayahuasca are known to have done many good things for people, and have no scientifically proven harmful effects.

  • @MrCodysir Tom Brown Jr. Books explain all.

  • Shaman religion was Mongolian very first religion, started 1000's of years ago, before the Buddism get stronger

  • was that english?

  • @zoloo71 Shamanism is the religion of the gods. It had been around since man was first crafted and place in Mesopotamia

  • aryan-indo-invasion=myth

  • It's big AND broad also. Will it fit on Youtube.

So they had to leave out what it is. Too bad.

Heavy evidence. Hmmm... weighs a lot. Hard to carry. Like a giant lemon.

Hebalism and Spygirics. Tricky word can trip you up. That's philology.

645 bce, I wonder what month it was. Natch matti ? Nag Hammadai ?

Oh dear , I give up.

I do wonder do these guys practice this and why do they think it's all symbolic.

A lot of shamanism is just real, direct experience.

  • I think a lot of the stuff shamans do is wonderful, as far as the medicine, and the spiritual healing. I believe in journey's and "finding yourself." I believe mother nature is very important. However, I don't believe we came from the great "nothing."

  • don't forget about th native americans

  • @NoFaceLeft Tom Brown Jr. Books explain it so simple and easy for anyone to understand.

  • They all believe that this dream world is the balance between this physical world. This includes Native Americans. Drugs Do induce ESP, as your awake mind falls into the sleep world. If you look at this scientifically, it would conclude our negative/positive relation of atoms & matter/antimatter space/time constant(Infinity). So the true question is, who are the ones that are manifesting our reality. I think it is safe to say we are, infact some are manifesting most of it while others observe.

  • @LendMeYourHand Tom Brown Jr. book explains it al so simple.

  • @neighbouroftheforest I to have noticed that once the experiences are introduced to an open mind, that repetition only serves to strengthen its foundation. This is the case with meditation as a few of us will finally reach a state of ever present Delta waves. I dont see a spirit world as you do, but i am very aware of my intuitive instinctual Psionic traits. I have experienced a wide array of knowings & utilizing one sense for another to feel(observe) these vibrations of energy.

  • @neighbouroftheforest I can see sound & hear light when i am in hypnopompic states. After waking up from deep sleep i can hear vibration intensity of light translated as a buzz sound in my ear. As the light reaches white, i profoundly HEAR its vibration, This can also be observed by hearing a heat signature while your eyes are closed, observed in the minds eye which exceeds the peripheral vision & can be envisioned in a 360 degree observation outside of the viewing spectrum. So i looked it up.

  • Yes, "Knowing". It is much deeper than this guys. for one thing shamans would be in every tribe. As this is known to carry the same abilities as an oracle. Shamanism has commonly followed bloodlines. The bloodlines of the prophetic. The ones with the knowing. They have control of the dream world in all cultures. This means that the most profound psychics hold this position. Including precognitive/ever present awareness. So a modern shaman or Oracle would be Edgar Cayce.

  • I have a book called (why so many GODS) look it up online?

  • "Shamanism" is the latest trendy buzz word new age crystal lickers used to sell some law of attraction crap to the souless white culture. and way too many of you are so willing to hand over your money for some quick fix and flowery promises. "shamanism" is a fraud. and never pay to pray.

  • You'll be interested in a book that goes into the shamanism fraud topic in detail by Alice Kehoe called Shamans and Religion. Another really good book is Dark Shamans by Prof. Neil Whitehead.

Shamanism isn't all bunk, but there certainly is a lot of bunk stuff out there about it. Check out my podcast shows where we cover these issues in depth.

  • heres one for you when the early celtic christian monks where writing down the old pagan "mythology" they talked about all the medical herds in ireland and that all the knowledge of their uses was lost but you can still rediscover their uses by communications with the holy spirit and seeing as all the first christian monks were once the druids they most definitely practised shamanism but only stopped when rome took over and the knowledge was only practised by the witches or local herbal lady.

  • no. see, Druids did not practice "shamanism". Druids practiced "Druidism"..... the Celts did not have shamans, they had Draoi and Bran-droai. The Tibetians had/ have Lhapas. The Penobscot have Mende'olinas kwe. and so forth. To deny/ ignore the rich cultural heritage and to force everything into a narrow, vague, generic term of "shamanism" is erroneous and disrespectful to the cultures and their governing deities/ spirits/ ancestors.

  • hey I know that shamanism is just the generic word Im using I know shaman is just the siberian word we use in english to discribe that type of healing and ecstatic experience that all cultures practice the common thing being the drum. The druids would have known this it would have been childs play to them even aboriginal judaism did it I know druids did alot more than that even today people like to use the bowron and trumpa cearde.

  • yeah but theres a lot of common stuff bitween shamanism and duidism. its all about nature and so. its just the details which are different

  • @samthor what WE call shamanism, is really a westernized word we use because there is no equivalent in English. you are right in your taxonomy, but so am I

  • @ColinElderGrant lol, you'd think the spirits would give us a proper English word to address them to help us appropriate and commodify their ancestors, sacred beliefs and culture ... oh wait, they don't.

  • @samthor thing is we speak the language we're given. Some things are not kosher in Christianity too, so we just don't talk about them.

Ofcourse we are much more accepting today and look at the blossoming that has taken place with language over the past few decades, but there was a time when Culture was dictated to by religious policies (instead of the other way around). Anyway, it was that oppressive period that even today lingers as a snicker on someones lips if you mention faeries, etc.

  • you dont need to pay for shamanism just get someone to do double drumming for you and there's no need for drugs try reading the way of the shaman by michael harner

  • no doubt samthor, couldn't have said it better myself...as far as the crystal lickers go.

  • @samthor "Shamanism is a friend", it is not. Those people who learn it for gain in power and not through a connection are Frauds

  • @samthor 'The souless white culture'? Not only white people use their money to take short-cuts; that's just a stereotype image....

  • @samthor That is real.

  • @its20Ent We discuss this whole issue at length with many academics on the Gnostic Media website.

  • now I really can't speak for everybody, but something tells me alot of the interest in shamanism out there could be a way of rationalizing one's hallucinogenic drug use. anyone agree?

  • Yes, totally... If you are caught up in the engine of the western dominator culture.

  • Comment removed

  • While shamans often utilize drugs, this does not negate the fact that the experiences with these substances, when done properly, are the most powerful and harrowing experiences we can go through. I suggest you read a book called LSD Psychotherapy by Dr. Stan Grof. Yours is a pretty narrow minded perspective and you really need to understand the EXPERIENCE that these substances provide that have been used globally for many millennia by various cultures for ritual use.

  • I agree. You need to be more open minded.

  • @GnosticMedia Drugs are a crutch, all you need is yourself!

  • @thethe234 There is a difference between "rationalizing" and rationally concluding about something. The first is convincing yourself when there isn't evidence, the second is coming to a rational conclusion based upon sound evidence.

Every culture that has access to a mind-altering substance uses it. EVERY SINGLE ONE ON EARTH. The only people who don't use a substance are the Inuit, guess why? THERE IS NOTHING UP THERE.

Alcohol destroys brain cells, hallucinogens don't. Cry me a river.

  • @thethe234 IT IS FOR THE HEALING ONLY WHITES THINK ITS HALLUCINAGENIC DRUG USE

  • @thethe234 Your comment is ludicrous. There is so much more to shamanism than using hallucinogenics. It is also not done for recreation but for spiritual purposes.

  • i dont think so...... i believe in shamanism in a SENSE u focus on your mind, body and soul,,, but i dont think so,,, that you would dis agree in words of God.. mind ur words

  • Lame attempt at answering a fantastic question. Such a shame.

  • samanizm come from middle asia they belive naturalizm saman belime apple tree river cow women mountain knife horse saman belime pozitif helpfull saman peru ekvator amerikan indian venezulla eskimo every one come from middle asia mediterian tork language and america nagetif language many many word same food carpet everthing same dna all same today who have many doing brain wash who have money i wish my english good

    oh my goodness.

what a usedcondomcollector asshats they r....

  • Dark Shamans??? Give me a break.

  • this the dudes that i give a good coment to EverythingIsNew22222 YouUniverse2012 N3CROD3ATh SteLju22 and remember that 2012 is a bad they for belivers of shamanism

  • dudes this has nothing to do with christ shamanism is serious they use medicines and deep meditation to upcome a deep trance and astraltravels and revenge of the evil powers

  • merely using medicines to activate parts of there own self, so in no way is that demonic because if u some how create some theology justafing ur own distortion ur just calling every man, women, child, cratures demonic and we are all(inculding urself) devil worshipers and not god worshipers (in various forms). the eternal way can not be utilize by mankind so easily. unless ur an fully perfected awaken one such as both the sadartha gutma and lao tzu u have no right to even speak. i am no diffrent.

  • Hey, if absolute dependence works for you...

  • lol... christ was a great man, no doubt... but i sincerely doubt he liked the crusades.

  • Christ Is you and you are He.. so sayeth logos.

  • May the Blessings from the Father rain upon you.

  • any power that's not rooted in god is demonic so... if were not thinking about god 24/7/365 we're demonic? it takes power to be able to think so you just called everyone of the face of the planet demonic

  • @fredryckphocks most of the known healers and medicine men i have read about ALWAYS give credit to the creator for a healing... saying that they are just a bridge or a "hollow bone" for the creators energy to flow through and heal others...

  • And who says this is EVEN about salvation???

Is your mind so thwarted now by Christian teachings that YOU think EVERYBODY is looking for a salvation - like you, who needs to be saved from the wrathful, cruel hands of the very god you worship???

  • plants are only ONE Of the five different kinds of Shamanism

  • The "Mana" found in a cow pasture (9:20) mirrors the theory that nomadic early humans followed herds of oxen (or equivalent)and, of course, ate the lovely fungus that sprouted from the herd's dung.

Resulting, as it can now, in artistic and cultural evolution.

    Including the evolution of LANGUAGE!

    When you've gotta SHARE something....!

  • This is a true spiritual matter & race or ethnicity has no significance at all.

Thou art that, that is all!

  • it is shame that we are learning our ancestors religon from a fucking yankee...

  • jeeze man

  • then learn it from someone else. no one is fucking forcing you to watch the video...

  • we can talk and then we do then we talk.

ALL TALK WITHOUT THE STEPS IS TALK.

words are empty WHERE IS THE EVIDENCE

A SHAMAN IS ONE WHO ACTUALLY TALKS TO THE SPIRITS AND FROM THAT CHANGES THERE OWN WORLD

AND THUS LIVE IN ACCORD WITH THERE SOURCE..

OUR WORLD TODAYS CALLS FOR EDUCATION OF THE SPIRITS WORLD AND THAT IS ONLY GIVEN BY THOSE WHO LIVE THAT PATHWAY.

  • Horseshit, the shaman does not need pharmaceuticals.

  • Thank you.

  • Some culture's Shamans use pharmaceuticals and other culture's Shaman's do not. Some use vibration to achieve what these shamans do with mushrooms.

I think the point is to tell the tale of this particular culture's Shaman's. And apparently they used mushrooms.

  • I think there's something to be said, however, for having a (relatively)clear mind and (relatively) clean body while in the altered states. Like any endeavor (aside from house parties!), performance is likely to be better under sober conditions. The state itself is a high; ask athletes about "the zone".

  • the most powerful healing i had was from a shaman and there were no hallucinogens involved. i DO, however, think that psychedelics have a role to play as in many cases the dimensions/beings described are the same or very similar so, surely there must be a reality worth investigating?

  • I guess I wouldn't know what little I know without my few months of tripping. But I think, like all drugs, they should be used sparingly and only when called for, so to speak. Steer clear of PCP at all costs !

  • A few morning glory seeds are always good.

  • I like the Glory, but I just grow them for looks!

  • If anyone knows what Shamanism is in depth..please send me a PM, i have a few questions. Thanks in advance

  • Look for Michael Harner's book Way Of The Shaman. It may help you.

  • Read "War of the Witches" to read some interesting accounts of the darker side of shamanism as it was practiced in Mexico esp as it pertains to retribution killings etc. It also tells the story of globalization as it pertains to the coffee industry and how devisive and disempowering the export economy was to a normally self sufficient people.

  • Shamanism transcends the use of drugs. If one is to partake in their consumption: these work as an additional stimulant~ adding to the Shaman's already prevalent & intense energy. Shamanism is beyond drugs. SHAMANISM- in itself is the Drug.

  • In traditional 'shamanism' drug use is a small part, and like you wrote to help the shaman in his or her work. A Shaman is a vital part of a community. Was more prevalent when we were hunter gatherers, once agrarian culture took root, we moved to more group based exterior religion/ monotheistc religion.

  • Ignorant, and not enlightened...

These are teacher plants, not "drugs" drugs are synthetic and made by humans. These plants have been here as long as us, maybe longer... How hard is it to believe they could teach us through telepathic connections after they enter our body.

Its more than likely how we are so intelligent today, these plants!

  • Well said and I agree totally.

  • some more interesting info on mushrooms.

    search:

"6 ways mushrooms can save the world"

  • You are welcome to contact Me.

  • Shaman word is ultimately from Evenki(mongolian) SamAn, turkish Şaman..

  • ah and means; wise man, one who knows(everything).

  • I think according to Wikipedia the term originates from Siberia.

  • not that the practice itself didn't exist.

  • your source also says

'Shaman pronounced /ˈʃɑːmən/, /ˈʃeɪmən/, (|ˈshämən; ˈshā-|) noun (pl. -man(s)) originally referred to the traditional healers of Turkic-Mongol areas such as Northern Asia (Siberia) and Mongolia; šamán being the Turkic-Tungus word for such a practitioner'

  • I am really interested in Shamanism. This is a great video.

  • So what type of mushrooms do you eat? And how many?

  • psilocybin cubensis is the flesh of god... eat a healthy eighth....

  • At least the information is being shared with thousands of people. Authors and other intellectuals don't always have a sparkling personality like actors or professional speakers.

  • speak for yourself.

  • Excellent videos. Thank you. Moses was a stutterer. The message is everything and you did a great job. Thanks.

  • gee sorry they aren't the fake glittery nonsense that you crave and think you need.

  • i agree with jorgecangas i wanna know what they're saying but not in the mood for monotony...

  • Yahmon Shaman!

  • everyone should eat a shroom once.

  • ...a month. Do it more often and you'll find you need increasing dosages to get the same effect.

  • Its like that in drugs. But i dont need to increase my THC dosage.I know that its not that kind of drug but some of my friends really exaggerate.

  • Shamanism is a general name which includes similar rituals that you can see all around the world. Spesific name for Turkish shamanism is Gök Tanrı belief. Common point between different shamanist beliefs is there is a man or woman (mostly woman) who tries to comminicate with souls of nature. like seven souls of earth and water in Turkish shamanism

  • Nice interview. I like The Pharmacratic Inquisition.

  • the reel fact shamanizm is region that only for private to turkish people in the world. Before the islam all turkish belived that shamanism. However Shamanism is only symbol of the nationality between the turkish people nowadays. It is not only Turkey Repuplic, also like kazakhistan, azeribaican, turkmenistan some turki republics all over the world.

  • Finnic, Mongolic, Celtic, Germanic, Tungusic, Native American.. they all had Shamans. LOL who told you only Turks had shamanism? LOL

  • there are papua new guinean shamans too and australian aborigine and Mapuche, andnenets as well as Bushmen among many others

  • ..........shamanism is only for Turkish, just like how breathing is only for Swedes?

    You need some help...

  • knowledge of the plants is a bad definition for shamanism (knowledge of plants is of course part of it) It is very limited in scope.

  • You are 100% right. In our book we discuss shamanism in great detail. In this short video we do say that it has to do with plant knowledge, but we also say that the definition is broad and covers many areas. It can be difficult on the air sometimes because we know in advance what the host wants to talk about (sacred plants), and sometimes I (Andrew) will give them the short answer that I know they want to hear. We're aware of all aspects of Shamanism and our book is packed with info about it.

  • shamans rock in every concept

btw it was my peoples old religious so maybe thats why i like it so much

    but it just amazes me

  • Interesting, however I consider Shaminism to trancend just 'knowledge/use of plants'. They are one tool that can be employed. You later correctly look at the etymology of 'Shaman' and equate it to 'knowing'. This should be expressly distinguished.

  • Our book, "AstroTheology & Shamanism", breaks down the word "Shaman" in detail. Come join our forum at GnosticMedia dot com and strike up a conversation about it...we'd love to see you there.

  • Shamanism & drug use in Judaism, early Christianity & Gnosticism.if gnostic media knew anything they would know that the bible is against sourcery/shamanism -witchcraft etc how can you get it soo wrong or how can you go around lying to ppl??do you think iots right to mislead ppl into your lies so you can make money ????

  • have you read the book of enoch it talks about the use of plant and who taught ppl about their purpose--if you have not its the sons of god /fallen angels which have nothing to do with god

  • this is good... srry to see not so many ppl are interested in it...

  • To GnosticMedia:Could we wiev body on the cross who is "the savior" similar to "the puppets" placed on the farm fields for protection ?

  • That's kinda funny...and on a side note, the Scarecrow in the wizard of Oz didn't have a brain.
