My mom and dad bought 8 pieces while he was still alive. LoL I remember when I was young and I used to have to cross the dinning room area after I got out of our family pool. My mother basically said if I got a single drop of pool water on any of the pieces she'd beat the living daylights out of me. Haha! Safe to say that I did not get pool water on any of the pieces growing up
I was fortunate enough to see a Nakashima exhibit, a couple of years back, at the Japanese American Museum in LA. If one could give form to what the term, "zen" means, it's Nakashima's furniture.
WOW!! IN LOVE WITH WOOD,RESPECTFULLY TURNING IT INTO FURNITURE!!! IF we respect each other same as he respected the wood our relationships would last longer, even a lifetime. Thanks Nakashima !!!
Marvelous design and quality. I myself own 4 pieces and picked out the wood with George. I have the signed drawings too! Great pieces.
