@juanchomtz100 Cousin used to own the Roland RS-50. Unfortunately it didn't have any sampling capabilities as far as I can rememmber, but you can use the MIDI OUT port to connect it to a computer or other module to trigger external sounds using that keyboard.
hi.do u play direct to laptop?or thru mdi or usb interface?i have a midi keyboard a laptop, cubase sx3 ,do i need a usb interface to play the vst from laptop?or just plug my midi key to laptop thru usb port?
@HEAVYJAZZROCK If you use a MIDI controller via USB, you can just plug it straight into the laptop (depending on the device you have, you may have to install drivers first.) Then just boot up a DAW program that can load VST's, have MIDI input come through your controller, load up whatever VST and then start going nuts. Whatever sound comes out will pump through either the laptop or whatever speakers you got plugged in.
@xRisingForcex@xRisingForcex Sup. Damn it, you found my embarassingly old video. xD I really should post a new one that's perhaps better planned... '_';
@xRisingForcex It's quite deep for a free synth of this nature. Make sure you're using one of those custom skins, the default one is like...staring at a stale bowl of porridge. xD
At the moment, and even on my new current setup, Creative SB Audigy 2 Value, though at least it supports 2ms latency setting on a quad. :D (The above was done at 4ms with an old AMD setup.)
I do kinda look mexican. You could say my other half "descends" from Chinese ancestry. ;) But no, I'm half Filipino-Vietnamese born in Australia. (That might explain someone's comment about me looking like a "Heavyweight Manny Pacquiao." hahaha)
is there any other pages i can download those softwares from cus this conputer is like super anti virus it wont let me download it from pages like those
Yep. In fact I've made attempts to remaking that lead sound Jordan Rudess used in some of his songs particularly on his LTE recordings. (Apparently it was a kurzweil patch to begin with.)
Perhaps should post some vids of all my attemps across 5 different synths. Remember, this video is old now.
Downloaded this vst yesterday, bit confusing to tune at first but kinda got used to it now. it can make some nice synths, making up a few at the moment. Give Synth1 & Voyager a look too, u need a huge screen resolution for voyager though
There's a thread at KVR forums in the instrument forums you should look. I have an All-In-One pack that contains all banks/patches and GUI skins for Oatmeal ever released. The latest version has some enhancements that haven't been demonstrated on this video. (Proper Unison, independent filter control.)
I have Voyager. Great synth but I'm not liking the lack of certain controls such as sustain pedal. Synth1 I've used years ago; great and easy synth, though Oatmeal does a good job.
i saw that kvr link, i got the 38.1 version with a load of banks and skins. at the moment my favourite vst is synth1 but as i get used to this i can safely say ill be using oatmeal a lot more. gonna try dig up a few sounds i want on it.
Either you use the top-left button of the VST wrapper to load fxb/fxp patch, or use the Oatmeal GUI's button that says LOAD, under a section that says BANK or PATCH. (uses OMB/OMP files.)
Again, I have an All-in-one pack at a topic at KVR forums that have all available banks/patches and custom GUI skins for Oatmeal.
What kind of synthesizer/keyboard are you using in the video? it is nice. I like this video. I want to download oatmeal. i plan on getting that old school Nintendo sound from my synths.
love the vid mn it really helps
note , you look like jack black

so ur saying i can get a regular keyboard with midi/usb and turn it into a synthesizer using that software?
djdondavid 2 years ago
Any regular keyboard with MIDI/USB, and software that can load VST plugins. There are free ones available, the one on the video being one of them.

i don't mean to offend man., but i like the korg oasys' lead sound than of roland's.,
but if you want more lead patches.,try a Kurzweil K2600.

how do u change the skin of oatmeal. i downloaded the one u have but i dont know how to change it
RicoCabredo 4 years ago
On Oatmeal, there should be a button that says SKIN beside the RANDOM button.
The skin files should be located in the "oatmeal skins" folder.
If you are having more trouble, send a PM my way. :D

Also you can grab this bundle which has some custom banks and skins (in the video I'm using grymmjack's cause it's so much easier to use.)
djtbmx dot soulbreakers dot com / DLs / Fuzzpilz_Oatmeal_VSTi_37-4_All-In-One_Pack.zip
In other news, I made a new bank here (already included but for those that want it individually):
rekkerd dot org / four-coverta-meet-oatmeal-patches-by-djtubigmalicex

I use an EDIROL PCR-M80 MIDI Keyboard controller for all MIDI input which is passthru to my PC.
Oatmeal's capable of oldschoolish type of sounds as well, given the time to work on it. :D
Oatmeal's great. Use grymmjack's skin for a better GUI look. the default is terrible/confusing. lol.
I probably should upload a demo of the Rudess Lead I transcribed/created by ear for Hypersonic 2 VSTi soon.
