  • Jeez that bit at 6.20 still makes me shayt in my pants!

  • Am I the only Christian who likes '' a break in the clouds '' ?

  • @AlanFiott Why would you be the only Christian to like this track? Explain.

  • Superb progression making this track almost alive, trying to capture something completely unobtainable. The producer has managed to take us so close and then just let us go smoothly without exhausting the track- do you know what i'm talking about?

  • Why is there a stop button?

  • Awesome!!!!

  • If you need drugs to listen to this, you probably don't like it as much as you think you do. This IS my drug.

  • @DrewJPS

Amen, Drew! That is EXACTLY what I was thinking!

  • replay replay replay replay

  • It's the Border Community Sound....Lovin it!!!!!

  • what the hell is this?

  • @Fenelonrpg It's a fucking amazing track by the talented James Holden, that's what it is.

  • This tune actually sounds better ever single time I listen to it.

    What a work of genius.

  • The sun of which you speak is an infinitly bright sun...

We are all god and on the path to infinite utopia where we can get infinitly high!

    See you there soon!!!!!!

  • awesome

  • depeche mode Love Thieves

  • best James Holden track ever. im fortunate i have this on vinyl for a long time now. there were days i listened to it every single day. now once a month.. still leaving me behind with goosebumps and wanting to party and drink :)

    tnx james

  • One of James' best

  • superb

  • GOOSEBUMPS ON MY BRAIN

  • 9 people have some break in their brains

  • genius

  • This sounds a lot like 'Little Speaker' by Underworld on the excellent A Hundred Days Off album.

  • @davidsan01 Other than both having rolling basslines I don't hear any resemblance. The percussion is different, the melody in the bassline is different, and the main lead is very different. I hear what you're talking about, but it's absolutely not even close to being a rip-off. I know you didn't write that it was, but I felt like clearing that up :D

I like this a lot more than Little Speaker, but thanks for mentioning it. Hadn't heard it before.

  • @fartcleaner what a load of tosh!

  • Nice......good time

  • @fartcleaner I think everyone uses subwoofers? even if it's not dubstep, you need a f* subwoofer ;o I'm a dub fan, but I can easily listen electro with the same amount of bass..

  • @fartcleaner You say it's all about dubstep while at the same time you're saying subwoofers are overrated and for old fogies and trance. If you had any sense you'd know that in order to listen properly to dubstep you need a subwoofer. You contradict yourself.

  • @fartcleaner All about dubstep? Why are you listening to this song then? This isn't even dubstep... Statements like "It's all about dubstep" just limit you... Trance is still popular, more so ($ wise) than Dubstep and subwoofers are used to express the full range of bass in dubstep when you listen to it live.

  • good tune

  • @DigitalDoor1 *know

  • can't beat listening to this in the sunshinnnne

  • I'm listening on my laptop speakers. Even on them I can hear the depth and utter beautifullness of this track. Can't wait to crawl inside......

  • Holden fucks the brains with amazing way!!!!!!!

  • hihat is too cool!

  • Temaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazoooooooooooooooooooooo !!!!!!!

  • H E R O I N A

  • James Holden, Nathan Fake, Oliver Huntemann, Gui Boratto...beauticians for my brain

  • @nonefuckswiththemad

I agree man, Nathan Fake is the new Brian Eno!

  • @nonefuckswiththemad And Stephan Bodzin

  • @nonefuckswiththemad don´t forget cora novoa, henry saiz, marc marcenit, damabiah...

  • beginning reminded me to Dennis Ferrer - Hey Hey as well

  • meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen, i think I just discovered my new heroe in minimal tech house stuff

  • 0:00 - 9:57 - LOve in my heart, peace in my head and jizz in my pants.

  • This song isn't bad in the latter parts, but it takes SO LONG to pick up the higher sounds...I'm just not feeling the love. Believe me, I love electronica, and I hate to disagree with the people commenting here, but...I can't say I understand the appeal of this song. Maybe it's because the trance I'm used to usually runs much faster.

  • @AstralDragoon It's because you haven't stood in a club at 3 am with the master himself dropping this track while your brain is swimming in MDMA. It doesn't "take too long" for the "high sounds" to come, that's the entire POINT. This song is a journey! Why can't people understand that. It's like a big powerful fighter jet soaring into the sky faster and faster and then all of the sudden when it reaches maximum velocity it just bursts through the clouds and the sun in all its beauty bombards you.

  • @lebannerfan65 you`re right man I experienced this myself a lot of times, but not with holden but with kalkbrenner, octave one, popof, sascha funke and some others..madrid is a great techno city...OLE...

  • Comment removed

  • @lebannerfan65 Do you really question why some people don't understand? It's a new creative evolutionary model for music, it's a new dynamic, a new boundary stretching, harmonic grace that is unfamiliar to our stagnant culture. Beauty indeed comes in many forms.

Buckle up, put your shades on, it's bright up there

  • @Nikon1149 it sure as fuck is

  • @lebannerfan65 It would be pretty hard to fly a jet whilst your brain is swimming in MDMA...fun though.

  • @lebannerfan65 you NEED mdma to have a good time you wretch. Even if your body is surviving it, you're self-esteem is not.

  • @snakeinthegrass20 Thanks for generalizing. What do you even know? I take it twice a year on special occasions, that is all. No ill effects of any kind. Now stop pseudo-psycho analyzing people over the internet, it's foolish.

  • @snakeinthegrass20 and YOU, NEED dopamine and serotonin to have a good time.

  • @rakerlad

Every single person on this planet NEEDS dopamine and serotonin te have a good time, retard know your chemistry and biology

  • @Roiimar Exactly, you rely on chemicals to be happy. My point exactly. Thanks.

  • @rakerlad Dopamine and serotonine exist in your body. Sorry to break the bad news for you, but technically, you rely on chemicals to be happy too.

  • yea its good when your on drugs

  • masterpiece

  • ke temazo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yesssss, i heared this song in a liveset once and since then i was looking for it....

    Just great !

  • Pffff man, I must've listened to this song a million times in all these years and it still amazes me, HOLDEN still amazes me. The snarework, the hi hats, the melody instruments, the padwork and the subtle low sub growl in the bass. All technically perfect and then the music itself announces itself....what a motherfucking MELODY!!! Just let's float away. Still my favorite song to smoke too ^^

  • thats what i call nice music. there is no day/nite time it would not fit to listen. me luvs it a lot.

  • i don't know i think Nothing beats this song

  • super!!!

  • goooodshit!

  • I couldn't believe folks were bitching and claiming that there was a drought of great EDM back in the early 2000's when tracks like these were being spun. Sooooooo many cuts from those years were underrated back then and now with everyone putting everything and anything up on Youtube folks today get a taste of what they were missing out on back then. @ 5:05 this track goes through the roof.

  • @pralleromnibus seeing as The End was released in 2010....

  • is this still minimal? sounds like midimal

  • @mattblair161 Why must ppl bother with the genres all the time.. Music is music, and the only adjective i'll use for this is "blissful".

  • @TheEnthe0s Why must ppl bother the youtube community with their "feelings" and subliminal sexual frustration all the time.. Your private life is your private life, and the only adjective i could describe this with is "not giving a shit"

  • 6:30 - 6:50 what other prog track does that sound like??? I can't remember!!

  • @springbok86

Its sounds like James Holden: A Break In The Cloud :)

  • @mmaurertibor just heard it again, it's like a part of Endless by Miquell Santos and Philip Andersson, 16 Bit Lolitas remix.

  • @springbok86 it's not 6:30 - 6:50, but 4:04 - 5:04 ...listen and then search for "pryda - the end". there you find it ;)

  • 4:03 THE moment. respect holden :)

  • @princenosiatajansen search for "pryda - the end" ...who was first?? I don't know, but would like to know it.

  • @pralleromnibus Of course Holden was first. He has built an ENTIRE RECORD LABEL around the fact that he absolutely hates people copying each other and constantly making the same music.

  • the first time I listened this song at a party I thought I was going to melt, literally

  • Tomorrow in Turin (Italy)

  • Vanavond even heerlijk los tijdens ADE op onze helden!!!

  • @vincentvdvelde Ik ben heerlijk los gegaan :)

  • @jellevandersluis

hahaha hoe vet was dat ;) het was weer een van de beste nachtjes uit mijn leven :D:D:D

  • @voetbergg

Heb met qday ook weer heeeeel hard genoten!

  • I'm Tonight at BC night in Amsterdam!!!! Holden, avus, kate wax, luke abbot!!!

  • This is one of ma favourite tunes, james holden is awesome

  • such a shame James doesn't do the beautiful melodies anymore.. He had a magical blend of techno and trance at this time.

  • @aaroncook1981 yea exactly. don't know anyone from the past 10 years that made better melodies than Holden. He broke out into the scene with Horizons, which put Robert Mile's piano melody to shame. And then he did Nothing, both the original and the 93 returning, which were both different and melodic masterpieces. then this. and his remixes as well (Into the Dawn). Come to Me, Bloodlocked i mean.... melodies like this will never be heard again. sad that he left. He was the perfect blend.

  • heard this the first time at an afterhours with Chris Fortier, he later said he enjoyed the afterhours more than the main gig he played before that (because at the afters he got to play tracks like this!!!). In my 10-equal-most-favourite tracks ever, and it always will be.

  • que amo de tema un fenomeno.el mejor dj de musica electronica junto con alexander kowalski.pero el mas amo de todos es carl cox

  • there can´t be a better track for opening a label like border community!! creating a genere with one track. perfect!

  • @webisdreck always thought 'Outhouse' by Nathan Fake was the opening EP for Border Community :x

  • @webisdreck This track is a genre on its own . . . Nothing can be compared with it . . . Perhaps only Sky was pink by Nathan . . .

  • @MiltosTech

hmmm why? i think bored of house or Outhouse from nathan can be compared to this one.

but not the sky was pink....the sky was pink and you are here.. are a kind of the same.

but all OUTSTANDING TRACKS!!!! amazing...hat up

  • i love you ._.

  • 3:40 to 4:04 the build up then the climax! Brilliant

  • finalement c'est a 4:02

  • 4:30 ??? ouffff ! amazing . .

  • YeP ! James Holden !!!!!

  • no comment !!!!! james holden !!!!

  • No solo es el mejor tema de james hoden.

Es uno de los mejores temas de la musica electronica

  • it has a very relaxing melody and a PERFECT combination of professional sound effects !!

it is the perfect music for me :)

  • This shit is facking sick!! Can listen to it alll day everyday!

  • Some people just don't appreciate this kind of music and how good it is! I'm so glad I was born to love it :) James Holden is a genius. <3

  • @camillaroseg Yes mate thats exactly how i feel. People who don't like electronic music don't understand it. Its all about a 3 minute release from a track rather than a 2 hour build up and explosion.

  • @j0rd4 i definitely agree with this..... it's a little of patience and acceptance intwined..

  • @camillaroseg I've noticed that some of those people, not all, who can't appreciate this music... are used to listening it on basic 2-speaker setups without headphones or a subwoofer... and perhaps they never really got turned around to focus on each sound... rather than just hear the basic melody or lyrics and see if they like it within the first 30 seconds..... idk... what do you think? :/

  • @exilius333 Yeah I think it's the case with most songs where you have to hear it a few times to really start to love it, like it just kind of clicks suddenly, I don't know. I really don't like it when people just listen to the first 30 seconds of a song to decide if they like it. You need to give it time, and also a lot of songs only start to get into it past a minute or so!

  • @exilius333 Ooh check you and your superior sound setup. :P Ever think people hear things in different ways, never mind having different tastes. I think this sounds great on any sound system with a decent amount of bass.

  • @exilius333 many just listen to laptop speakers... no wonder trance is still so popular with the e-tards

  • @exilius333 For me, the trouble with this song is that the melody doesn't carry energy. Most of the sounds are too subdued to stand out, especially in the first 3-plus minutes, and there isn't enough treble to harmonize with the lower sounds. Bass and cymbals alone don't make an inspiring tune, and having a subwoofer would just make the bass line drown out what little brighter sound there is.

  • @AstralDragoon It's not about energy, or balanced frequencies.

It's about the simple complexity and beauty of the main bubble-riff thing.

    You sound like a dubsteppanero...

  • @AlexRider001 The heck...? I don't know what you're talking about, but some of the artists I like are Vincent De Moor, Darren Tate, Above & Beyond, etc...

  • @AstralDragoon So more classic trance then?

James Holden is simply a very different type of producer.

Listen to "Idiot Clapsolo" and you'll see what I mean.

  • @AlexRider001 I listened to it, and I see what you mean. I guess the style just isn't my taste. It sort of "wanders", and I'm not really down with that. Holden's "One For You" is a beauty, but it does have more of a trance vibe to it.

  • @AstralDragoon His remixes are usually the more typical trancy ones.

My favourite track of his is definitely his remix of Fine Day.

    watch?v=SA-Z38_di_E

And I'm generally a big fan just because it's so very obvious in his music how he slaves over every miniscule detail and meticulously crafts every single sound in them :P

  • @AlexRider001 Wow. One of the most civilized disagreements I've ever read on YouTube. Congrats to both participants.

  • @tame1999 that's because being rude is forbidden under a james holden video :)

  • @camillaroseg SIMPLE AS THAT DUDE..

  • @camillaroseg I totally agree!! Totally and from the deepest bottom of my heart!!!! :) greetz

  • @camillaroseg

    aGREEED ..

  • @camillaroseg

no he is not,he is just a good producer

  • @camillaroseg I guess a lot of people don't enjoy it because it takes some time to get used to the way these type of songs develop. It's minimalistic (not in a Reich sence) but at the same time complex. Hard to grasp what is going on. I have a feeling that people who listen to Holden, Fake etc. have good ears and a sense for small changes. Nerds in other words, hehe. I would appreciate if you checked out my music and wrote a comment on what you think!

  • Such a wicked track, would love to here this in a club..bang bang happy days

  • so good, i have I Fav'd it twice !

  • me too, just after I did it I read your comment haha :P

  • yeah its such an epic !
