  • Im gunna fucking shit bricks! *_* How long have you been practicing with decks/ Playing with them????

  • Hey Kev-

Whats the name of the cut at 0:29? I have seen you perform it a lot, and I was just wondering.

    Thanks!

    Jack

  • @ETCmagiconline It's a variation of my flourish 'Revolver', called 'Clockwork Angel'.

  • awesome video, congrats

  • Lol Singapore?

  • What's the name of the move at 0:37?

  • void deck? is that a deck of cards?

  • @FrankysMagicStuff It's the Singaporean term for the lobby on the first floor of a condo or high-rise flat.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • do you have a tutorial for the move in 0:47 ?

  • It's been 3 years and still no one touch this video

  • what song is that?

  • @BicycleTheory 'The Lottery' By Metric's Emily Haines.

  • Please say that I can find a tutorial on the twisty mcveigh

  • Dude, you're the most godly virtuosist I've ever seen.

  • Hey Kevin! Do you know where I can learn Twisty McVeigh? It looks really cool and I would like to add it to my m4.

    Thanks!

  • This sh*t's crazy :°

  • What is the song?

  • 0:49 just amazing!

    what is name?

  • Where can i learn Roundabot?

  • do you have a tutorial for the move in 0:22 is it in your book also?

  • Nope! It's not published anywhere, actually — stopped progress on that version a while back and continued with two other variations of Sick and Twisted Wings of the Mockingbird, which you can also see on this channel.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • oh i see. that was awsome i thought you have a tutorial for that ^^ thanks kev. i envy you with you flourishes, if ever you'll be releasing a dvd for your flourishes ill definitely grab one ;D greeting from the Philippines ^^

  • WTF?!?!?!....

what was that production at 0:36, was it a vanish also?

  • That was 'Pegasus', which you can learn from my book Smooth Operations.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • You are the man :D

your flourishes are swift as anything!

  • o.0 wow. That first one was amazing! What is it? Thanks. You really inspire me flourishing :D

  • You're welcome! The first move is an early version of my flourish 'Roundabout.'

    -Kev, The Virts

  • Hi Kevin, I have to say that this video is awesome.

but I have a question, is there any tutorial for your ·Twisty McVeigh· Flourish?

    .:PeteR:.

  • Thanks! And as for Twisty McVeigh, this flourish is still going through some revisions—I've since expanded it into a whole different direction altogether, but it'll be a while before it's finally complete. When it is, though, expect it to come out through my group Virtuoso ;)

    -Kev, The Virts

  • can someone tell me the exact title of the song?

    thanks

  • As mentioned several times in the comments, the song is "The Lottery" by Emily Haines & the Soft Skeleton, off of the album 'Knives Don't Have Your Back.'

    -Kev, The Virts

  • ohh ok i was lazy to look in the comments .. anyway thanks

  • oh fuck 3 thumbs down for asking a song ?? you guys are cruel

  • did you filmed this in the hotel?

  • Not really - this video was filmed at the lobby of the condo I used to live in. In Singapore we call these lobbies 'void decks'.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • oic, which part in sg u live? im just next to you!!!

  • I don't actually live in Singapore any more (in the US right now), but I used to live in the East Coast.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • damn kevin, i must say you are very talented

  • Very nice, Nice edditing, Very smooth,

    1 Word, AWESOME !

    Wesley

  • ok where did you learn all theese? is there a special deck because my card are horrible

  • With the exception of the spring, almost all of these are original creations. As for the type of deck being used, it doesn't really matter as long as the cards aren't too old - any pack of 52 poker-sized cards will do.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • great video, smooth and flawless. anyway, ive been using aladdin 1001 for a while now, and imo it doesnt fan very well. what made u use this deck kev?

  • Thanks! I use Aladdins because they're really solid for cuts, and of an appropriate toughness so that if I can learn how to use them, I'm pretty much set for any other deck that comes my way.

It's still just a matter of personal preference, though, so do play around with as many decks as you can until you find one that suits you just right.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • Where can I get the Song, can't get it out of my head :D

And on Youtube there are only live performances.

    greetz paul

  • The song is available on Emily Haines' beautiful album, "Knives Don't Have Your Back". You can probably get it on Amazon.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • Ok thanks I'll try to pick it up ;D

Btw forgot to say: very nice vid^^ I like the atmpsphere. If u want u can also check out my video^^

    -Paul

  • Holy crap, that's cool! You should try and get a performance gig at IR or something.

  • That would be cool... too bad I'm nowhere near Singapore right now!

    -Kev, The Virts

  • hey kev, are your alladins smooth or AC Finish?

  • Smooth finish. AC Aladdins are awful.

    (How's *that* for alliteration!)

    -Kev, The Virts

  • What is that flourish which starts at 0:49? I keep seeing it everywhere, like Dan Buck at the start of molecule 4. Is there anywhere I can learn this flourish because it looks really cool. Thanks.

    -Ben

  • Hey Ben,

The move in question would be an early version of my flourish 'Twisty McVeigh". It's not currently taught anywhere, but the plan is to release it through my group Virtuoso sometime in the future. Do stay tuned to our mailing list to get notified of when it and other cool new content is headed your way!

    -Kev, The Virts

  • i have the video performance

  • Yeah... that's a really outdated handling that only shows the first of what are now 3 phases. Good on you, though.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i like that version of satwoam better than the new one

  • I have probably seen this video a couple hundred times=) I notice something different each time=P

    -Alex

  • whtas the flourish called at 0:57

  • The flourish is called 'The Bearded Lady', and is a combination of The Leno Cut by Dave Buck & The Tower Cut by Jerry Cestkowski.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • man its really cool and i wanna learn it

  • whats the change at 35 seconds?

  • It's the 'One-Hand Top Palm', first published by Jean Hugard in Card Manipulations No 1. and 2.

If you'd like to learn the full production, there's always a *certain* book you can buy to find out...

    [/shameless self promotion]

    -Kev, The Virts

    Miquel

  • wao. you have all these slightly awkward grips on the cards, but the cuts flow so well. i dont know how you do it...

  • waw amazing the color change and that display

  • last comment was meant to be a reply to something so forget it.

    Great vid kev!!!

    :D

  • aladdin 1001 for the win!

  • Wow, I bought your book and thought I was okay at Pegasus... I was wrong

  • WOW I am slow at getting these things:

    Favors are flying- packet flies

    Faces are falling-cards fall fowards.

    Genius.

    -Sean Fast

  • what is name of that cut on the beginning?

  • It's an early version of my cut 'Roundabout.'

    -Kev, The Virts

  • Is Twisty McVeigh every going to be released, or not because everyone just kinda taught it themselves?

  • It will be taught in full detail eventually, though not for free. Also, the full version has not been shown on video yet, so the people trying to learn it off of videos are just keeping themselves outdated ;)

    -Kev, The Virts

  • isnt that the full performance in that "meet up" vid?

  • dude i wasnt talking to you

  • very nice job specially the queens production. do you have a name for that?

  • Yes he does. You would have figured out by doing some research, but if your too lazy your gonna figure out when you buy his notes. =)

    -Stein

  • it's called pegasus, don't pay attention to bitter people

  • I love that cut at 22-27, please what's the name of it?

  • It's an early version of my cut 'Sick and Twisted Wings of the Mockingbird'.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • Kev,what's the name of that display (0:55)???

    -Edy T.

  • It's a combo of The Tower Cut and The Leno Cut that I call 'The Bearded Lady Combo'.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • Nice dude!,

    -edy trica

  • Waa exellent

  • Kev,what's the name of the song?

    ~Edy T.

  • 'The Lottery' by Emily Haines, off of her album 'Knives Don't Have Your Back.'

    -Kev, The Virts

  • Thanks brotha!

  • Haha well all I can say now is that a tutorial for Roundabout would be awesome! I just love that cut haha

  • Nevermind my question. You already answered it. Sorry about that.

  • Haha... no worries about it, glad you found what you were looking for.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • Hey what is the first flourish you do in this video?

  • awsomeness! this is going straight to my favorites

  • Really nice video... What change there is at 00.35...

  • Impressive, congrats on the VOTM. You inspire me.

  • This video inspires me so much man.

I watch it like, every day. And even though i swear i've watched it over 100 times at least, it still makes my fingers itch for a deck of cards.

Thanks alot for uploading this one!

  • nice vid =) LIKE it very much ^^

  • where was this filmed?

  • This was filmed at the lobby of my apartment in Singapore, which Singaporeans call a 'Void Deck.'

    -Kev, The Virts

  • wow guy i fekin luv u, impressive handskills, i dont know how u control each and every card with precise movement and rotation, incredible!

  • yo kev,

i was playing with my.... deck and came up with my own variation of sick and twisted wings of the mockingbird. not the same, but about the same length and with single cards i hope to post a video of it soon. can't stop watching this video

  • Around :30 looks like Bones move Cinderella

  • Yeah, it's a combination of my move 'Revolver' and Bone's 'Cinderella'. Big kudos to the B for his inspiration.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • your tornado variation, i think jordan called it twisty mckveigh, unless im totally mistaken, is my favorite flourish ever alongside with hurons firefly

honestly i dont know what it is with you guys in singapore, must be the water...

  • Jordan's right - it's called Twisty McVeigh. Glad you like it, and if you ever come to Singapore you should really try out some of the water...

    -Kev, The Virts

  • hmm, they sell this bottled water here in florida called figi water

wonder if thats anywhere near singapore...

    ill go hit the maps

  • Kevin your amazing. Big inspiration. Hope you become a great film maker in the future.

  • omg what was that shit at 00:35? that was sick man

  • Thanks, that's my ace production 'Pegasus'.

    -Kev

  • no seriously my bad.

But its quite hard for a nobody flourisher to get any facts when he knows no other flourishers and his only source of info about flourishing is a computer

  • That was...wow...

  • cool

  • hey kevin i was wondering of u are going to finish that version of the sick and twisted flourish of yours

    cheers

    Ase

  • Still a work in progress - when the final version's done I'll film it ;)

    -Kev

  • i also watch this video atleast once a day and iv been alive for around 5,249 days

  • One of your best video Kevin. Can't get tired of it.

  • you are great !! I love the 5 pakets display at 00:28. you are great!!!

  • Hey just wondering, whats the name of the first cut?

Ps. I like none air cushioned cards too, sucks I can't get them anywhere in PA.

  • The first cut is an early version of 'Roundabout', which I've since added a new opening and ending to.

There's an eBay seller who has Aladdins for sale - name's fullboatdealer, check him out if you're in need of an Aladdin fix ;)

    -Kev

  • Can't find em' on eBay.

  • Perhaps try going to his website first - fullboatdealer[dot]com.

    -Kev

  • He only sells cushioned. =( I wanna try some of these Extra-Kevin-Ordinary Cards... =D

  • I bought some off him a few weeks ago.. can't be of stock that quick! it's gotta be somewhere in that heap of cards he has available. anyway.. beautiful video kev, flawless :D

  • what deck is that?

  • Those are the non air-cushioned Aladdin 1001's. Easy to get in Singapore, but bitch-hard to find anywhere else.

    -Kev

  • how old is this kid!?!?!!!

  • Eighteen when this was shot, nineteen as I type.

    -Kev

  • is this you.? your great!

  • Haha... yeah, that's me. Thanks :D

    -Kev

  • whats the name of the move at 34-35 when the queens popup?

  • why do you always put -kev after each comment?

  • The move is my ace production called 'Pegasus'.

I write '-Kev' after every post or reply out of habit... haha. Kind of an OCD thing now, I guess.

    -Kev

  • ok. like jordan lapping does. :)

  • what is the move at 34-35secs called where u pop the queen up?

  • Haha... I could tell you, but then it'd be exposure :(

    -Kev

  • I really like the flourish at 37 seconds.

  • Yeah, that's the ReInvention... weird thing is, I fucking hate that cut.

It's a real bitch to do.

    -Kev

  • aaah. exactly it looks terribly hard to do, which makes it look complicated creating eye candy...

  • It's a bloody nice cut though, Kev it's not THAT hard to do.

If it was that hard I wouldn't have been able to learn it by watching the video.

  • Yeah...ok big guy.

  • Well, remember when people on DN put it in "*" because it was underground?

  • hahaha this comment makes me laugh so much "Well, remember when people on DN put it in "*" because it was underground?" The only difference kev did was add a name to the video and sudenly its no longer "underground" for god sakes man its just a fucking video

a fucking amasing video if i may say

  • That's not nice to say...

    -Kev

  • Well, Paul, I think what I said doesn't make you know anything, get your facts right. That cut was like the clipshift in matter of underground, even more. Re*********.

  • Paul,

Blunkeh is referring to my move 'ReInvention' which I performed in this video, not to the video itself. For some reason people used to type it as 'Re*********' so it would seem underground. Strange.

    -Kev

  • my b*d, o and thanks for using my name... makes me feel like a big shot.

o jeeze what have i done i posted an underground comment! may god have mercy on us all

  • what is the move at 343-36 secs called?

really effective way of revealing a card :p

  • The four-card production is called 'Pegasus'.

    -Kev

  • reminds me of chinese new year

  • interesting..

  • The reason for it being so is because it was posted around the chinese new year period. I watched it so many times that the song got stuck in my head and now the video gives a sorta flashback

  • haha I see. Yea this video is amazing.

  • Idk if you care, but I gotta tell you, I like the way the moves are presented here a lot more then in the virts style..

  • Given that both videos have different styles, it's most likely that one would tend to favor one over the other. Either way it's a compliment, so I appreciate the fact that you enjoy the more laid-back tone in this case.

    -Kev

  • how does the cut in 23sec call?

    and nice vid

  • The cut that starts at 00.23 is an early version of my 'Sick and Twisted Wings of the Mockingbird', the full version of which is also on my Youtube account.

    -Kev

  • saw it look cool =)

  • Thanks Kevin, without you we would be lost.

    Looking forward to that video.

    Thanks again.

    -Max

  • sorry Kevin i mean the display at 27 im sorry for wasting your time ;]

  • Hey, no problem - I try to be as helpful as I can. That display is called 'Straightforward'. However, I don't do it anymore (couldn't get it smooth enough in real life) so now I do a new version called 'Long-winded' which I might put in a future video.

    -Kev

  • Kevin i've watched this video so many times but i've never asked what that display is on 23 seconds.......so what's it called then,

    much appreciated -Max

  • Hey Max,

The cut that starts at 00.23 is an early version of my Sick and Twisted Wings of the Mockingbird, the full versions of which I have posted on this account :D

    -Kev

  • I agree, definitely my favorite video of yours..

  • Great job kevin!

Definitley one of if not your best!

  • zomg executed perfectly! What was that last flourish called?

  • Thanks for the compliments, I appreciate it. The last flourish is my Bearded Lady Combo, which is Jerry Cestkowski's Tower Cut with borrowed inspiration from Dan and Dave Buck's Leno Cut.

    -Kev

  • Fantastic how long have you been practicing for? Very well done

  • Thank you :D I've been doing magic for five years, flourishes for four.

    -Kev

  • Dang lol this is one of my favorite videos Keep up the excellent work

  • the thing on :22 do you have a tutorial?

  • Eventually I will. But not for free ;)

    -Kev

  • i am in awe thats beautiful. you have to show me how to do that rotational packet thing

  • what cards are those?

  • IS that your house??????!?????!!!!?
