the speed is always given in bits/sec.

so for downloading n all.. speed divided by 8.

3.1mbps = 3174 kilo bits/sec =396 kilo bytes / sec download..........

there own site took atleast 5 minutes to open with this damn thing called photon at day time and with full network. at night it is worse then a dial up... forget about 3.1 mbps

I can guarantee you that this is not a real tata photon plus. Never even dream about 1 Mbps. Tata photon plus max speed is 150 Kbps. I've tested and I've the solid evidence. Tata services are fraud.

3.1 Mbps is what the device can support ...thats the loophole these people use to fool people ... actual speed depends on the co. capacity which obviously any co. in india isn't going to give you! :(
