  • original is best shakira is thefe...

  • @abksharma right! Tu as raison papa! It is my childhood and I repproche to Shakira to have persuaded that this song was of her

  • lol this video gave me nightmares growing up but it's such a great song.

  • Awesome

  • okay. ths song gives me goose bumps. lved wth these guys n the military base n yaounde. my dad was a marine and even appeared among the guys marching n the background. shakira, pay some royalties woman!

  • this iz a straight up piece of shit song ! thank god Shakira made it better, way better !

  • @juniorbnthg you may feel that this nice 80's song is a piece of shit but there r many others that would differ. I would say Shakira westernized the song a bit and made it more for your type of audience which is why u like it better. There are still many people who dance to the full 11 min full version. Especially cameroonians and people in close by countries. There are people who would say Shakira's version is shit. Depends on where your from I guess as for me I am cool with both. None r shit

  • je suis fane cete chansons

  • Its kinda boaring cuz it just repeats it over and over, I enjoy shakiras version better, cuz it makes you want to dance, and the lyrics are nice, plus I like the way she sings it and dances(:

  • @putacia I mean Shakiras purpose for the song was different than the original artist purpose of the song. It is repetitive because it was like a parade marching song for the Cameroon military hence the soldiers marching in the video. Shakira was trying to adapt it for a different audience so that is a factor. I like the song and I know there are still people in african countries cameroonians abroad that dance to the song for a full 11 min so I am sure not everyone thinks it is boring.

  • so shakira got permission to copy this song for the soccer world cup?

  • dunno what the hell they saying in this song but this shit is hot!!! nice song man

  • I remember this song :)

    Flash back flash back !

  • were all african im haitian and i love african people i love thi song so much

  • I learned this song back in the early 90's when we had a summer camp counselor come over from South Africa as part of an exchange program. Loved it then and sang it all the time. I had forgotten about it until I saw Shakira's video on a Sony display in the store. I definitely prefer the original but Shakira's isn't bad, just different like it's supposed to be. I definitely thank her for bringing back the memory and setting me on my search for the original.

  • no 1 would no it unless shakira sang it shakira brouhgt me here u should thankfor making it more pôpular instead of hating

  • shakira only use the chorus of the song, that's not plagiarism

    than good by shakira

  • did they get any royalties from shakira?

  • @alphonse707 they should have, because shakira sampled them

  • I remembered Timon & Pumba!

  • shakira sings it better.

  • @TheOnlyRoyal well if it weren't for him, you would even get the shakira version. respect

  • Love the shakira version, got curious and searched this and I think its great too!

dont really need to understand the words to enjoy it which is a +

  • Maybe a don't people don't know, but a lot of people from north part of colombia listen music from africa! this is a classic and shakira grow up listen this music!

  • Why do all the comments on this video have such bad grammar...? Anyway, I love this but I like Shakira's version too :)

  • @guardian910823 yea cause this was made a long time ago u mule. Obviously autotune is what ppl use nowadays. This was real talent

  • @guardian910823 she is theft. She deserves no credit.

  • @ILUVJEZUZ94 You do realise 99% of people who listen to this do realise this isnt written by her right?

an artist can get credit for re doing someone elses music IF they do it good. just look at black eyed peas.

  • @nikosierraavila 99% of America thinks SHakira wrote the song.

  • @ILUVJEZUZ94 Considering most Americans never even heard Shakira's version I doubt that, it only got widely heard because it was the official song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Which to most americans is about as relevant as how many people visit Lenin's Tomb.

  • @ILUVJEZUZ94

    Hahaha then their idiots.

  • @ILUVJEZUZ94

Hahaha then their idiots, dont blame her blame them.

  • who's shakira?

  • @onlyseanmeier U dont know shakira? she's a colombian singer look her up in wiki...

  • @onlyseanmeier shakira only use the chorus of the song, that's not plagiarism

    than good by shakira

  • @onlyseanmeier

    You don't know Shakira?

  • lol sounds like Zombimani mani

  • Zangalewa is a Cameroonian song. It is sometimes called Zamina undermined by the first words.

It is part of the repertoire of soldiers, but also groups of young and Scout , throughout Africa. Its rhythm is catchy and it can serve as song march.

It has been re made as the theme song for the FIFA world cup in South Africa featuring Shakira. It is a great honor considering the fact that Cameroon is the best soccer nation in Africa and is a great world cup hopeful.

Here is a link to the remake

  • Good, very good

  • To deduce i'm cameroonian 100% and she stole da song and fuck ppl who talk s**** bcoz they weren't in Cameroon when da song was created !!!! fuck haters when u don't know somthing shut da fuck up plz . She stole dat and she gotta pay dem that's all dammmmn!!!

  • Someone know what does it mean?

  • I quite enjoy this version.

  • Comment removed

  • stolen or not, Shakira's version is better XD

  • @mrsbrowne2013 disagreed

  • @mrsbrowne2013

    You're an idiot.

  • @mrsbrowne2013 Hell no

  • ROFL!! The Fat African Back Dived :D at 1:44

  • @shewp41 come on, melody is totaly the same. If you know to write score you can see that its similar (in case you dont hear music)

  • she never said that. she said she composed the melod. its true. she didnt use the melody (music) they used. in bits of it, she used guitair. it had a different beat.. and u obviously mis understood her.. she didnt say that

  • Wow the rhythm and chorus are all this groups the only thing is they did is add a verse.... Wow I had no clue.....

And then she goes and not give credit.... The worst part is Sony and Shakira's people didnt even ask for the rights. The group didnt know until people started calling them to tell that Shakira had used it. It is then they lawyered up. I mean what kinda a meaness is that that she didnt even pay for copyrights until they were sued by Zangalewa. I

  • @ilovehorses1234567

you didn't listen to shakira interview during the world cup opening. I started hating her that day when she claimed to have "fully composed the song and its melody". she is a little devils and she never mentioned the original author of the song

  • Go Cameroon!

  • Are they saying Jambo or Zambo? Does this have anything to do with the Swahili, which isn't spoken there, but in Kenya and other countries? It's still a good song either way, just wondering.

  • @lilgunner94 This song have nothing to do with Swahili, this song comes from Cameroon and swahili is not spoken in this country. The singer are all soldier of the cameroonian army, they are old now, lool, sorry for my english

  • soy colombiano pero esta camcion es una chinba una bacaneria talcual como esta me gusta la vercion original es una belleza

  • Shakira(what very little I know of her, unfortunately)seems to bring about a revitalization of past , exhilarating spirit that ever so many of us today have way forgotten

  • not even shakira is able to make something new and original...pff...sucks. nobody makes music anymore...everybody steals

  • @yitzchak the african is real who sing this song

  • You africans are amazing and i really like you !

But please dont come to Europa and invade our country ...i do know lots of africans who would never come to Europa, because they're true people who live in their own country and live with their traditions.

Africans belong to Africa ! Whites belong to Europa(All fuckin americans) ! The indigineus people belong to America !

Its nice that we have so much races in our world..and through immigration that all will be gone

  • @Antifavergasen why the fuck is this comment in a MUSIC video. stop bringing politics and racism into a video meant to be entertaining.

  • @Antifavergasen STFU FUCKING RACIST!

  • wow... this is great! if this recording was of better quality it would be on par with Waka Waka

  • music is dead.

  • k so shakira officially killed this song

  • @BabyOdee No, she did a pretty good job. Read the second top rated comment.

  • @ArtisticwithaK lol im not saying she stole it, im just saying i dont like her version... as simple as that :D

  • so cool:)

  • i like this version and shakiras too :) just a great song

  • @MackieBoyPT your a dumbass who don't know what respect mean

  • @Blakprincessful You said "your a dumbass". "You're" has an apostrophe.

  • @MackieBoyPT fuck off!

  • @MackieBoyPT fuck off! And learn what respect means.

  • Sorry people I love Shakira's songs and I like her song of 'Waka waka' but I prefere the original waaay better

I'm from Cameroon, I have nothing against Shakira but I only say this once, she made it and I'm proud of it that the whole world could listen to this song but yet I'm quite dissappointed that she chose that song :'( I prefered she made her own african song. cuz since this song is one of my favourite, I don't like when she uses that song aswell :'( but still I like the both song's :)

  • i like shakira version better

  • nossa a versao original é horrivel. a shakira fez um milagre nessa musica chata. waka waka é bem melhor que essa porcaria repetitiva.

  • a Shakirás jobb :D :P

  • @Ndzono dude chill Shakira didnt steal it she did a cover of it.Ok, and it turned into the theme song for FIFA .Alot of modern artists do covers of old songs cuz they like it and they want their dam fans to listen to it.

  • Alright so Shakira didn't steal this. She gave full credit to the origin and it's called a cover, in the music world this is generally considered a show of great respect and admiration for the original. Shakira's version doesn't lose the meaning of the song, it's about Africa for goodness sake and it features an African band. It's not like she is singing it about Latin America.

  • @akaLonelyFreakshGeek but she said , she wrote it by herself . that's stealing

  • @akaLonelyFreakshGeek meh, she killed it.

  • @akaLonelyFreakshGeek yeah.. and it was the theme song for the FIFA world cup in South Africa..

this song is so nice to hear!!

  • @akaLonelyFreakshGeek lol yea it does, the song makes fun of the cameroonian militia so why would she use it for the world cup, no relationship

  • @akaLonelyFreakshGeek Why the fuck did they have to get a Columbian to sing it in the first place? There are hundreds of amazing SA talents that could have done the theme song. Twats

  • @beccabokkaglory becuz dumbass, she wanted 2 sing it, and sa wanted her 2 sing, 2 make more money and so dey can get sum tourist attraction....duh? and the band playing the music is are south african ppl, and there is also a south african singer. we neva lose our pride as south africans, so f*ck u

  • @akaLonelyFreakshGeek i dont know what you are talking about, you dont know nothing about that music and his impact in Cameroon. This music were one of our first music after the independance, in fact we still considerate it as a indendance music.

The shakira version might be good, but for me , it makes my country lose his cultural identity thats it

Shakira took it, without asking them , they receive calls of their friends ,

  • @akaLonelyFreakshGeek @akaLonelyFreakshGeek i dont know what you are talking about, you dont know nothing about that music and his impact in Cameroon. This music were one of our first music after the independance, in fact we still considerate it as a indendance music.

  • @akaLonelyFreakshGeek

ok, but you have to pay for the copyright (did I say it right?) and apparently she didn't....:(

  • @akaLonelyFreakshGeek

    /watch?v=rHBx-VtygsE&feature=related

  • @akaLonelyFreakshGeek If you don't know the difference between "cover" and "arrangment" don't say anything at all. Of course Shakira didn't "steal" it 'cause the copyrights expired year ago. It just shows that "pop-music industry" doesn;t even bother to use some creativity. It's just fooling people around - to take their money of course. I wonder what would you say for that?

Have a good day - and turn of TV - watch the trees, listen to birds.. start to think - everyone of you, guys ;)

  • @WilkBlack copyrights expire 70 years after last author of the song die. Then, you only don't need to ask publisher to make cover of the song. You can make it without permition. Of course, you can never sign yourself as author

  • @tihomir7 Two of the original muscians are very much alive

  • @tihomir7 Two of the original musicians are very much alive

  • i love my motherland....so yall haters out there from latin america shakira stoll it from us....we dont give a fuck we got soul and funk there 2 peace up...
