@cutietwo22 HI, that is called a torch coral. It doesn't need to be feed directly, the coral will filter feed. Of course it needs strong lighting as well. Thanks for watching!
Amazing colours from the lighting wow, i am still learning and have placed a video, sprouts marine tank 2010. i am saving to get fully sumped system, at present running a 4ft all mechanical, substrate and rocks are now live and all three filters are filled with BIO balls and Bio tubes. I am hoping my emporer angel (juvi) turns soon. What filtration are you using?
@RachelDowner Thanks for the nice comments Rachel. I am using Giesman T5 15k and 460nm actinitc lights. I also run a converted wet/dry sump (no bio balls) with a de-nitrater unit along with a skimmer and a rena xp3 cansister pump used only for phosphate media and physical removal. Try to get away from the bio balls as they produce nitrate. Convert to a refuge or go Berlin style with a large skimmer. This will be your best bet with coral. Best of luck!
hi nick, thanks for your coments on my tank,i have tried sps but with no luck, that was in the early days of my tank,i think i will have give another go in the future,i would like to get a bigger tank as im running out of room.if you get time have a look a tank it goes under the name of w. colemann,or just type in german reef tank this tank is fantastic, looking forward when you do a video of your sump tank.thanks for taking time out to look at my tank .cheers david
that a really good video,i have done a video for you tube, the camara so the picture quality is not all that good, its under david reef tank, its a 120 gallon tank,it under most recent for this week i wonder if you can have a look and maybe give some pointers.cheers david
David, I though your tank and video were great. You really like the softies. Have you ever tried any SPS? Easy to keep as long as you keep it some distance from the soft coral and LPS. I am finding that out the hard way. Having a mixed reef is troublesome if the soft and hard coral come into contact. Otherwise I think you did a great job. Try up grading to a HD Camcorder and maybe a tri-pod. This worked for me. Best of luck and thanks for watching.
Hey man really nice tank, is this video also shot with he 11k's and actinic giessmans, I use that same combo, and my lighting doesn't llok near that good!?
@BALDWINAQUAMAN Thanks, yes the lighting is the same. I am using the nova extream pro T5 lighting system. I am running 12 39w T5 bulbs. 6 actinic and 6 11k's. I have found the Giessman lights to be the best out there.
Thanks, I got the Vlamingi with the Lateral Line. It has been some time and I think the scars are not going to go away. I the next posting I will try for the filter system. I just got a new camcorder and have been messing with the picture quaility. Still a work in progress.
Beautiful tank! Is that beautiful brown flowing thing a torch coral? Do you feed it anything, or do you just use the lights for it?

The Vlamingi goes so well with this reef. You really did a great job with this. I'd love to see the filtration your next vid!
