this is epic! although, reading these comments, it must be pretty tough to a job so fundamental with so little good feedback; daunted by the HAL and XOS. no one respects true ingenuity!
Thanks for the comment. If you are interested in lifting 450 or 1400 you may want to check out the "Rescue Suit" we are building for the robogames 2010.
I hope that in time it turns out to be semiler to HAL-5. But im sure if you contribute to something like be a part of instead of trying to be the one and only. May lead to a brighter path. Good work.
i wish more people ( me too ) took our spare time to invent things to make the world a better place....id like gates foundation to help finance this guy..
Thanks for the comment. The Bill and Melinda Gates foundation just turned us down again last week. Maybe, if people wrote to them they would reconsider?
Hey paronfisk thanks for the comment. My friend John can lift 580 raw. I on the other hand have a broken back and can only lift 80 on my own. The LIFESUIT works pretty well. WE still need to do a lot of work. I hope to lift 410 with the suit. My friend Alex lifted 450 in his exoskeleton at the robogames this year and he won the Gold. check out they shall walk on face book for updates.
Have you seen the Youtube-Video 'Robot suit developed to help the vulnerable'? This is a little more practicle. i don´t know how to walk with your suite including (maybe a larger sized) load.
To F45B actually this 'forklift/crane' walks at 2.5 mph and can jump 6 inches off of the ground. It is an exoskeleton by definition. Yes it does need some more work but that is just what we do at the They Shall Walk . org labs. This is prototype 13. Take a look at the other videos of LIFESUIT 13 and 14. Watch for the new prototypes at the robogames event in June 2008. We will present LIFESUIT 15 and 16 there. This LIFESUIT exoskeleton will have a paralyzed person walking in 2008.
Thank you for your comment. This invention helps paralyzed people walk and lift stuff. The main goal is to allow paralyzed people to get exercise while the machine moves them. The weight lifting is for the robot olympics.
To princedime11 Thanks for the the comment. This is a machine made for paralyzed people to be able to walk. You can help by making a donation at they shall walk . org

if possible make an exoskeleton that a sevearly paralized person will not have to transfer to because the person is way to sevearly paralized

how often does a disabled person need to life 185 pounds 3 feet into the air?
Also, it's good that it's becoming less bulky, but are you able to impliment it in order to manipulate said object being lifted?

lol that suit is fucking dumb, check out the cycos one

I think you mean sarcos not cycos. The sarcos $5 million suit is very cool. This one cost less than $18k.

It isn't really an exoskeleton...more like strapping a mini forklift/crane onto your body.
