  • The one dislike is a snooty British bloke in tights and a powdered wig.

  • the image from 0:30-0:40 , isn't that street in Navrongo_Upper East region of Ghana. I've been there before & i'm sure it's the place

  • as my mom and dad and grandparents would say titi songs meaning old songs

  • This is extraordinary and too beautiful for words. Thanks for posting.

  • love it x

  • nice rythm . . . authentic!

  • this song is wonderful! Can you refer me to more music like this by Ansa? me dawasi pa!

  • ghana is very complex. you are either extremely rich or extremely poor

  • @Grebopekin there IS a middle class you know??

  • @elegance212 Many countries don't really have a middle class, especially in Africa and South America. Sad, but true.

  • @Jamhet22 you can't say that they DONT HAVE a middle class.. most african countries and most south american countries have a middle class.. it might not be large.. but it exists.

  • @elegance212 Well, by saying "don't really," I meant to imply comparatively to many industrialized countries where the majority of the population is middle class. In contrast with the U.S., England, Germany, etc., most countries in South America and Africa have a large dip when it comes to middle income citizens. It's a sad fact of life that can't be masked by tourist attractions forever.

  • @Grebopekin That doesn't sound so complex.

  • Nice reminder of a great city. Had a lot of fun in Accra.

  • where can anyone find this music? its beautiful.

  • Such a peaceful song ... Why is White music = Trash and Black = Godlike .... I am white ... ^^

  • I am speechless. I am from the Ivory Coast, from a little village near the Ghanaian border. One could say that I have cousins on the on the Ghanaian side. I visited Ghana decades ago, back when Ghana was considered (by most ivorians) as a failed country. Now look at your country. All west africans are proud of what Ghana represents today. Peace, harmony. I love you guys. This music resonates through my entire body. I should visit Ghana one more time. I will. I love you guys.

  • @hedjamavieille what a lovely thing to say. we love you too

  • Anybody know about political meanings in Ghanaian highlife song?

  • @yueguishu I doubt it I mean Fela Kuti listened to Nigerian highlife and it inspired him to do afrobeat but he said Nigerian highlife is very playful and upbeat music. Party music or dance music so I doubt there was anything political about it in Ghana too.

  • Stunning... the pics, the music, the whole compilation is amazing, Thank you no I'm homesick.

  • masterful blend of voice and music and the delicate guitar rythm; fantastic composer, a small masterpiece.........evocative of certain time and moment from the pre-colonial times
