  • Very nice :D

  • Thank you! :)

  • nice.. but the tempo's all over the place

  • I'm glad you liked it, tempo changes notwithstanding. The changes are intentional; I tend to start slow, speed up, then slow down again. I don't dance, but I think of it as starting the dance slowly, then going faster as one 'gets into the swing', and then slowing down near the end because one is a little tuckered out. I find that varying the tempo helps to add variety to the repeats as well. Just a matter of personal taste! :)

  • Felicity is not the easiest rags to play, however, you need to concentrate on the tempo throughout the piece, you're tending to play fast/slow/fast/slow. It's an even pace throughout. You also have more of a slow 'swing feel' to the music rather than the intended rag 2 time March tempo, otherwise not a bad effort!

  • Thank you for the comments; the variations in tempo are actually fully intentional, as is the 'slow swing' feel. It's just how I seem to like to play ragtime.... a lot of folks don't agree with it, but I feel it makes the music more sensuous, expressive and danceable. Really just a matter of preference.
