  • did u have an oil pan on there

  • You've got to work with what you've got around. Too many people are freaky about safety. What if it did flop off the stands? He'd jump out of the way, swear a time or two and crack another beer! Grow some balls you chickenshits!

  • It lives, small blocks are wonderful.

  • Hope that engine hits u in the face....REving an engine like that on jack stands, without cooling water, and without down pipe....Man u DEFINITELY learned good wherever the hell u went

  • @texassince1836

    Nice

  • taken chances created this country, Rock on Man!!!!!!!

  • This is possibly the best video on youtube.

  • american power!!!!

  • of course a proper stand would be nice but as you have shown if you wanna just start up an engine to see if it runs it can be done easily without "proper stand".....i keep telling my dad this and he is unconvinced....i gotta show him this vid.

  • cynder blocks and jack stands. your a freaggin genuis! please show me how you did that! i cant afford a cradle. or afford to build a craddle! please! any homemade builds will help! i have a 350 chevy sitting on a stand. its a threewheeler. some people have said a truck tire. but i dont have a truck tire. please show me how you did that

  • @richardhell1977

Shoot me an email at dr_frankenstein56@yahoo.com I will fill ya in on wiring and setting up.

  • So do you guys look at any of my other videos? or just the ones where im abusing tired engines? Kinda looking at one half of the story.....

  • Betcha that got the neighbours attention.lol safety smafty out the window my friend give it heaps yeah!!

  • wow atleast put some coolant in it thats hard on it

  • what year is that motor?

  • got a 69 camaro , been sitting 12 years, how do I set the points, want to get this sucker running again before I try to upgrade anything on it. Last time it ran it was fine, but wouldn't start, had it towed home and been in the garage since. thanks in advance..... I do have the engine lubed up ready to start, or at least turn over with the starter now. Jeff

  • @subron6er just put an hei on it. dont play with the points, they are a bitch.

  • Those cast iron stock manifolds, what's the power limit with a set like that?

  • JBVCW71, I so agree where is all the anger coming from and who cares if a guy blows the motor, runs it without oil whatever..Its not yours its his..back off grow up stop trying to be tough guys behind a keyboard..It doesnt make you look even close to tuff.It makes you look really stupid and week..Its obvious that you have been picked on by someone ..or maybe your wives tease you to much..Either way show some kindness. Be thankful for the entertainment in videos these people give us....

  • SPPPP i use a motor that small to power my air tank motor.

    LOL

  • safety first man

  • HO YEA

  • yur a dumb ass

  • yeah no kidding about the cam. even when its cold out I run them on the stand just to make sure there in time thats it.

  • timing is off there buddy

  • well he says fuck headers you dont need em when you got wide open manifold :)

  • you realy need some headers

  • v8 = best sounds ever

  • dont run it too long without a cooling system. it will overheat very quickly.

  • this video is way back in May of 2006 I'm pretty sure the motor is ruined!

  • lol im glad im not the only one who gets excited and cranks a motor up with only the BASICS hooked up :D

  • LOL my mom made me put my engine in the Car before i could start it lol

  • If that motor was just rebuilt i hope it had a roller cam. doubt it. thats a good way to mess up a flat tappet, you have to break em in.

  • gnarly..wish my 350 was like that.....mine wont even start...meh needs rebuild...been sitten for 13 years...gonna rebuild it because it was built up....yours looks a bit thirsty...lol...run er harder next time =P

  • BAD ASS!!!

  • nice bark, hows its bite?

  • Nice! Good Job

  • nice 350 man, be carful u dont suck some exhaust valves into the cylinders when running open manifolds, but it really sounds sweet

  • Geting a litle hot there a what is that a chevy 350?

  • Um, yeah... that's what the title of the video says after all...

  • hear that baby run, smooth backfiring engine. what kid of engine is it?

  • It's a 350... just like the TITLE says...

  • listen up its steaming cuz of the little bit of antifreez and water coolent let in the water jackets in the block of the engine..the heat evaporates this little water and it steams out the hole where the water neck going to the hoses would be. the fan only creats a vacum of suction through the radiator there would be no steam at all if the block was compleetey filled with coolant and no air gaps like its suposed to be. trust me

  • hey man dont listen to those negative comments! i did that (running an engine on stands) for years now and there is absolutley no problem if your ruuning an engine for a couple of minutes without water...that is the satisfaction for an engine builder when you finished to rebuild the engine: hear it with OPEN EXHAUST!!! :) keep on making some cool videos like this !!

  • the steam is coming from the inlet into the block from the radiator...if you didnt have a radiator hose on your engine it would do the same thing....remember engines are liquid cooled so they ALWAYS have water in them

  • nice motor,running a little fat though

  • Nah I'm no apostle. Quite the opposite. Anyway thanks for the clip. I plan on putting my own on fairly soon. Need to pick up a good digital camera (any suggestions?)though. Almost got my small block chev test motor set up. Plan on getting a couple of bucks for what I consider a shit smogger motor. I'm guessing people will get excited if they can hear it run. I didn't pay crap for it cause it was stuck with water in the cylinders. Anyway I just get pissed when morons throw their opinions around..

  • Geesh. I never thought having drunken fun with a couple of buddys and a pile of old engines would bring this much response! Hey Look, so I wasnt really being all that safe and yea I could have gotten hurt. But I was having fun.

Oh yea, the engine is actually just steaming water. One gentlemen was correct on the fact that I had about a gallon of water in the block. (I had to wash it a little bit.)

    Dr Frankenstein.

  • Why does a simple floor test of an engine create so much hostility between you people.

Can't you just enjoy it? I think it's nice that people put these clips on here for us to enjoy. I don't think they do it to create hostility.

Mechanical aptitude varies from person to person. Concerns of safety are a matter of opinion. Everyone has a right to an opinion, but it is rude & disrepectful to find fault with others. Please, let's all have a little tollerance for our fellow man.

  • Damn!

An Apostle? Maybe....... Damn Fine Answer though.

    D Frank

  • twats. the engines steaming becuase theres no front assembley, the fan is what prevents that steaming. and its not comming out of the intake. its comming out of teh radiator adapter thats why we have raidators on our cars. get some auto skills.

  • We ran a 400 chevy at my shop..you can fit almost an entire gallon of water in there before it runs out? how do i kno>? because i did it thats how....thats steam from a water in there not condensation

  • dude...theres some water in that block...condensation would have burned off already... quit having the guys at Autozone teach you how to build engines

  • he obviously has water in it cause its steaming out of the intake...idiots need to pay attention

  • could be grease man, you need to pay attention

  • Pay attention to what? pay attention to the water STEAMING out of the intake>? if it was grease it would be smoking!

  • No, my old buick 350 did the same thing when we first got it with no water in it. IT WAS A GREASY INTAKE DUE TO OIL LEAK. Dont rip on someone for making a general statement. OH, let me guess, you're ASE master certified

  • You need to pay attention... It's steam coming from the water jackets inside the block...

Even if it is full of water it isn't circulating, if it was full of water there would be water coming from the WATER PUMP HOLES

    Good try though...

  • well...your said it yourself..steam coming out of the water jackets...and an indicator that there is water in the block...doesnt mean its full...just enough

  • *water jackets*, i never said they had water in them... it is moistuer built up in them from the cylinders going from cold to hot. do you even know what water jackets do/look like?

  • DO you? wheres your automotive knowledge? thats the dumbest shit ive ever heard.. if the jackets went from hot to cold wouldnt the rest of the engine be steaming? Dont question my engine building knowledge....

  • engines go from hot to cold every day and they don't steam, it's from the inside of the motor.

IF THE WATER JACKETS WERE FULL THERE WOULD BE WATER COMING OUT OF THE WATER PUMP HOLES!!!

    ARE YOU BLIND?

  • good way to fuck an engine up

  • No water/coolant = engine seizure

  • @amisfit990 it takes 5 mins at least of wot on a chevy 350 to seize. ive seen a chevy 350 go 20 miles without water, it cracked both heads a week later, but it got us home...that motor is still goin strong with new heads, all that incident did was heat treat the block

  • Gimme da steel mahn. I give you good lancer and liteace for it.

  • sounds mean

  • is it a 327 or a 350?

  • lol no joke but nice rebuild

  • damn....you got some balls to only have a couple of jackstands and cinderblocks holding that engine up while you rev it. Just be careful cause 400 pounds of rolling steel doesn't feel good on the toes.

  • If that happens; you probably s--- on yourself.
