I recently watched and heard Andy Williams singing live on TV at a charity event. I truly felt sad, and wanted the song to end right away. No more comments because I have great respect and admiration for this fantastic artist. Fortunately he left us beautiful videos and recordings to continue enjoying his great songs for many years to come.
This song was performed in an episode of Petticoat Junction as a duet by Steve Elliott(Mike Minor) and Billie Jo(Meredith MacRae) The episode was called
"The Almost Annual Charity Show" It's an astounding performance of this beautiful song
Listening to a music like this which time has buried deep into the recess of our brain suddenly wake us up triggering moments once forgotten to flood us with excitement and calm.... and joy and deep appreciation of the past wishing we were there again
Its kind of routine job for my father to play this song every morning. Since i was a little girl until now when I already have a cute adorable baby......When i heard this song again , I remember my father. Miss him so much. i love you papa.....
A good friend of mine sang this when I married my Filipino wife here in Hilo, Hawaii. He had two guitars, two ukuleles, and 4 other singers to sing harmony. Not a dry eye on the beach as the waves lapped at our feet.
I hope I don't offend Elvis fans by saying that Andy does the best version of this song. Its so heartfelt and in his sweetest tenor style. (I also love beautiful island sounds of the slide guitar and the ukelele). Elvis did sing part of it in Hawaiian (Andy didn't) which was a feather in his cap.
This song makes me want to go to Hawaii and get married.LOL.Seriously though one of the most beautiful songs ever sung and my favorite from Andy Williams.
I bought the album with The Hawaiian Wedding song on it, for my girlfriend, in hopes she would say yes when I asked her to marry me. She said YES and now we have been married for 40 years.
So this song is very special to me. Thanks for providing it for all to hear.
This song reminds me of my grandmother. She loved this song and sang along with it every time she heard it. My grannie went several times to the USA and Hawaii and lived for a few years with an American. God knows how I miss that lovely lady...........Hearing this song brings her back in my mind and makes me smile
yes, a really musical song with peace and tranquility in its feel, a song i enjoy singing myself and if i thought too much about love i would cry over and over, however to me ANDY DOES IT REAL JUSTICE and is my favourite. john c.
Too much, I remeber this song from 1958. At the time I thought it was bueatiful, but other than that it remained a memory from that era of r&r. IT WASN'T YOUR TYPICAL LOVE SONG. I never heard it in all those years that I can remeber until now, here on youtube, thanks to the sender for postin' and I know I'll never see the day, unless i fall in love...i can't explain my feelings other than telling you that this is a bueatful song, too bad it's not a love song I will be playing often.
I wish i could of fallen in love with a girl by now, it hasn't happened yet except for my mom. I guess it's not to be, or I'd of senced it by now, anyway, heart and soul I am in love now...and what do I do...dear me, and I thought i was in love wirth mom. It's not funny and I have to deal with it, there's nobody to talk to, with the exception of telling only so much within the comment I just made. Thanks4 posting this classic by Andy. It was probably made bigger cause of Blue Hawaii>
Andy Williams clearly has a beautiful voice and sings very well, as did Elvis in his version.
Ke'a'li'i Reichel sings wonderful songs, and many could be played or sung during a Hawaiian Wedding, or a wedding anywhere for that matter.
The Movie, Blue Hawaii, features Elvis singing several beautiful songs, including Blue Hawaii and Hawaiian Wedding Song. Here, a beautiful song sung by a gifted vocalist, Andy Williams.
Remember that at the time this song was released, Hawaii had become the 50th US state & everything Hawaiian was the rage. I have this song on a 45 that my dad gave me, along with my 1st record player, when I was a little girl. I used to lie on my bed while it played & just dream.... My aunt loved this song so much that she always said she'd have it played at her wedding. About 20 years later, she did.
Gracias Adita Dalilah
I've always loved this video immensely. Thanks a whole lot for re-uploading this video back onto Youtube. It was truly great seeing it again. This is easily one of my all time most favortite songs. It's such a totally beautiful, lovely and romantic song.
Beautiful interpretation of this great song. The arrangement and voice of Andy Williams are superb. I like this version much more than Elvis Presley's, who happens to be another singer I most admire.
the elvis version aloha from hawaii is superb ..andy `s version is almost on a par ...but ..elvis had the better vocal range.. both legends in their own right tho..
Can't think of anything more beautiful and moving as Andy singing this song! BB x
