Under Saddam between 500,000 to 1 million people were killed. Thats all civilians. Under US occupation, around 100,000 people killed. That is including enemy combatants. I'll be as nice as possible. Iraq only produces 9.34% of the total production of OPEC in 2006 (per OPEC's own statistics). If it was just for oil Saudi Arabia 42.57%, Kuwait 12.23%, UAE 11.87%. Wouldn't be more effective to take one of those? Heck, we could have taken all three of those with less of a fight than Iraq because their militaries are almost nonexistent. Iraq's GDP is only 102.14 billion, that would be 34th among US states. Money and oil. As Bill Cosby would say, "Right."
