This sounds so majestic and beautiful!! Not to detract from the lush experience but can you explain what you mean by "slowed down 600%"? Does that mean stretched 6X? To me, slowed down 100% would mean stopped completely. Just trying to understand the process better.
@SpankyTheYankee I am stretching this song to 6 times the original length. Slowing something down by 50% would be half as fast, 100% would be stopped. Unfortunately the first videos of these kinds were expressed as 600% rather than 6X slower, but the naming kind of stuck.
@SpankyTheYankee To put it into more intuitive terms: this vid runs at 0.0016 x normal speed. To achieve it, you slow down the original (using Amazing Slow Downer or some other piece of software that can alter tempo and pitch independently) to 20% of its original speed, save it out, then load that file and slow _that_ down to 20% of its original speed, save it out, then load that file and slow _it_ down to 20% of its original speed to arrive at a result of 0.0016 x original speed.
@Danthered I just use Paul's Extreme Stretch. You can slow it down to whatever percentage you like, make pitch changes, mix the music in another program and save.
@sadsongsishere I didn't add any reverb to the song, the piano already has some in the recording and natural sound of the instrument. The stretching process makes it much more exaggerated.
The main theme sections are incredibly melancholic and the solo sections sound beautifully dark. I'm sure Guaraldi would be amazed at how his work could be manipulated to create something so - for lack of a better word - immense.
Well, of course, it is re-orchestrated, not just "slowed down". If you speed it up by 6x, you can make out the peanuts theme .. just barely.

I love this. It's a slower, mellower 'happy' than the original. Kinda like a sunrise after the Great Pumpkin finally shows up. :p

If Schroeder had a bust of Brian Eno on his piano instead of Beethoven, this is what he'd play.
