  • Nice AC.

  • @repairdroid77 - Thanks for the comment.

Unfortunately this plane was lost in a wing failure accident after this video was shot. The plane was purchased used and not built by me. The original builder did not join the wings properly.

I liked the aircraft so much I bought another one, this time built by me. Check out my other videos to see the new Lancair.

  • i have a question i have heard that when you fly with other people your plane must be flying a different "crystal" or sumthing like that and if you dont your plane or theirs will crash

  • @DKjokes - If you are using one of the older FM radios that use crystals then you have to make sure you are the only one using your channel. The newer 2.4 Ghz radios automatically pic a free channel for you.

  • at least you know the brakes work...

  • that happened to me on my first flight with it

  • it looks to me like the well fell into a crack on the runway and caught, but thats my opinion

  • first plane stoppie ever

  • @scarabkid22 - Yeah, and it worked great too! - LOL

  • im into rc but dont fly have any tips for a good first plane?

  • @scarabkid22 - I highly recommend getting a Nexstar RTF Trainer and a flight simulator like G4. The flight sim will save you money in the long run. Good Luck!

  • The braking system is excellent!!!...lol

  • wow beechcrafts amazing

  • @ChRIs23696 - Not a Beechcraft, it's a Lancair IV. Lancair was recently bought by Cessna and i this they are now calling it the Cessna 350 Corvalis.

  • do u know y it failed

  • @sstumpy1 - Yes, the wheel collar that secures the steering arm to the front gear was loose allowing the front landing gear to turn freely. The wire front gear has since been replaced with a Robart Strut

  • nice plane

  • Thanks!

  • Is that a piper cherokee?

  • No it's not a Cherokee, it's a Lancair. See comment below...

  • nice piper i got it to. was it much wind or somthing

  • The aircraft is a Lancair ES. Lancair was recently acquired by Cessna and the ES model is now being sold by them as the 350 Corvalis

  • i have trouble landing my gear, i always come down at too much of a nose first incline and wreck my prop most of the time, any tips to land?

  • I would double check that your CG is set as per spec (and not too far forward). Make sure that the elevator is trimmed neutral (not nose down). Try a long, shallow approach with a little bit of power on. Good luck!

  • TY me and my dad gonna go fly it today hopefully i won't wreck my new props

  • srry bout the accident :(

  • Thanks for the comment. No worries, it was an easy fix! Happy landings!

  • ok does the plane still run as good?

  • The only damage was to the front wheel pant. It has been removed. The gear twisted 90 degrees on landing due to a loose collar holding the gear in place. The front gear has since been replaced with a heavy duty Robart strut - much better.

  • nice landing until the gear collapsed!

  • Thanks. This aircraft now has a big fat Robart strut up front. I got rid of that flimsy wire that came with the plane

  • lol funny wat happend

  • what do you think of this plane?...I had an onboard failure and my super sportster crashed and still remains unexplained, but a total loss, I was looking at the lancair for a replacement...how does it fly? thanks

  • I absolutely LOVE this aircraft. It must flown scale however as there are reports of wing failures with aerobatics. I have glassed the wing joint even though the mfg does not call for it. Check out my other Lancair Vids. I have one called "Wringing Out the Lancair" which is the MOST I would EVER put this aircraft through. Lastly, do not overpower the plane, some of the wing failures I have heard about have been attributed to .91 -stroke power plants.

  • DUDE!

that was lucky it didnt flip!

  • lol the nose wheel turned 90 degrees to the left

  • It wasnt all that bad just a hard stop dont you thnk?

  • You're right. It could've been much worse. No damage, just a stripped out wheel collar. Unfortunately this aircraft was lost to a wing joint failure a few weeks after this video was shot. The plane has been replaced with yet another Lancair. The new one has a Robart strut up front. No chance of that one stripping out!

  • Almost got the propeller to hit ground,THAT WOULDA SUCKED!!!!

  • Owch...

  • Yes, front wheel turned 90 degrees on landing due to stripped out steering arm wheel collar.

  • Very lucky. Engine didn't even get killed.

  • nice plane chris

  • Thanks Freddy! When do I get to see your 1/4 scale Cub fly?

  • what is wrong with your phone?

  • Phone is working. I'll call you Freddy...

  • Lol

  • Hopefully the damage was easily repaired?

  • Fortunately just a steering arm and wheel collar replacement ($5 and 5 minutes). I purchased the plane used and failed to realize the wheel collar holding the steering arm in place was stripped out.
