I am sure that in a truly democratic Middle East, a good share of seats in any Persian or Arab parliament will include some Islamists and maybe some marxists. That would be the will of the people, Egypt, Iran, Bahrain et al. have had radical secularism and inequality inflicted upon the masses (potential voters) so, for a time, they can pick radicals. Ultimately, people will find a government that respects justice, liberty and stability (those three can all coexist with a good consititution).
I see, in the Los Angeles Metro area, how well Persians (of every faith) do and such economic and social progress could exist in Iran if its politics allowed it. The Cold War is over and the backing of autocratic regimes should end now and people in the Middle East and elsewhere should be granted full democratic rights.

that's exactly what i want to know about those rioting youngsters. unfortunately, you can not make it clear, you are from Germany and possibly not persian. it's my mistake to ask questions without verifying your origin first. so, forget it.

let it translate from Persian into English, you must know many many Iranians to have this opinion about the Iranians :)
my name is kuchu777 and I live in Germany and am 25years old....
burnt cars and buses, that's serious. but, in fact, no maraudering, no robbery, it's a good sign. i wonder what those youngsters expect Mousswi would have done if wins? he's a part of that religious system, so, nothing serious like change of political organization, electoral system wouldn't done. still, he could promise to change or cancel some religious rules concerning code of dress, code of public behavior, etc. still attractive.
lol. calm down, buddy. i do not deny the aspirfation of those youngsters for another life style. i would just like to know what exactly they want to get rid of and what to get instead. for example:
big things- separate church and state;
- religious institutions have no legal power over state institutions and citizens;
- state is represented by secular elected by population authority.
I'm all for getting rid of all of the dictatorial regimes in the world. The only problem is that most of them have the support of the power 'base' in that country. If the citizens of a country can't muster the support to have a democracy, it's not very likely that we are going to impose one from the outside (without some major body counts like happened in WWII). Let the Iranians who want democracy install it, period!!! Or not. Their choice.
you should know, that US-government was involved always, specially 1953 and also 1979 in iranian politics! and of course supported the iraqi invasion 1980!
if you dont know, you should read a few books about it, and comment after!
Well, what ever. We can learn from the past. If they don't want democracy and if they will leave us and their neighbors alone, they can do what their people will allow.

If they want to continue to live under dictators of any hue, that's their choice. We can wish them well, but not our buisness to get involved.

Thanks, is that a bible blessing or something? And of course, we could use Iraq as a plan for how to accomplish our goals.
gulsbyjag 2 years ago
Christ's death is the only BLESSING we have. any other blessing is a curse against Christ.
fact is the people of iran did see how votes counted in Iraq and Lebanon. they want the same.
they want THEIR VOICES to be heard.
they want THEIR KIND OF CHOICES. not american choices.
by the way the pope has sex with a female goddess and his dick retracts inside his body.

I've read a few. I see you live in Germany. Never been involved outside their own borders, huh?
I'm saying leave Iran to the Iranians as long as they don't bother us or our friends. Do you disagree?
